GETTIN' SALTY EXPERIENCE: Podcast Ep.55 Our special guest will be retired 40 year FDNY veteran Lt. Bobby “Rocky” LaRocco. He has worked in some of the busiest companies on the job. He got appointed on 1/10/1981, and after six weeks of Proby School was assigned to Eng 318 in Brooklyn. He Transferred to Ladder 166 across the floor in 1982. In 1985 he transferred to Ladder 176 the “Tin House” for 3 years before going to Rescue 2 where he worked from 1988-1997. He was promoted to Lt in 1997 and was assigned to Ladder 9 in 2001. He returned to SOC in 2009 and was assigned to Squad 41 in the Bronx in 2013. He retired on May 30 2020. You don’t want to miss this one. "On Scene Emergency Response" was BY FAR the BEST show, especially when riding with FDNY. They rode with Res4cue and spotlighted Lt. Tommy Williams.
His 9-11 story in The NY Times is one for the ages. He had 20 yrs on at that time and a lot of guys would have packed it in and retired.. He stays another 20. Shows you what type of guy he is.
Bringing up the Live footage from Rescue 2 was awesome.

Me and a couple brothers spent a night tour at SQ 41 in 2015 when Lt Larocco was working. One of the nicest guys, he told us the same story about Capt Downey. He also sent me a video congrats when I left the FD to go to work on a helicopter in MS. None better than Rock. Awesome episode guys💪🏻

Wow, that FF neighbor...how I wish someone would've taken me under their wing. I come from a family of slackers & losers. My own GD mother cheated on my father with a F**k in organized crime. They got rid of my dad. I was lied to by mom that he committed suicide. When ny father's brother told me that he and my grandfather thought it was foul play, I inadvertantly fell into a lifetime of private investigation. Our facade of a family fell apart as the years went on...sad, just GD sad.
