“Start as soon as you have an idea, for you’ll not necessarily have more energy down the road. Just build on that momentum you have and don’t stop. Life gets busy and we’ll never be younger or have more energy most likely. So use the health and energy you have now and go for it.” - Well said!
Not only that Simon but, we never know what may happen down life's road. Just ask two of my son's.
Good health is never guaranteed. Even the brightest stumble and fall.
I think the secret to a. happy life is finding what floats your boat and share it...talent enlarges you when you share it w. others. This build sure proves that...I loved it!
Great Advice
Then doing the fixing bus yourself wrongly and inhaled toxic stuffs in these old bus, vehicles, like fiberglass, etc. the guy finds he lost his health and youth energy in battling it down the road.
@@goldHydrangeas damn, thats a negative outlook!
I know, I enjoyed hearing this reminder, for it is good advice, especially coming from a young person.
I have a feeling this young man will go far in life. He has the right attitude and much talent.
So glad Caleb is getting more and more recognition for this project. I went to school with him while he was building it and it is such an inspirational project!
Dad's money buys upvotes and comments as well I see.
@@baconstrips6260 I'm not even sure what you are trying to say. Though I'll let you know that I have no affiliation with Caleb and was only a classmate for a brief time. So if you are trying to say I'm promoting him towards his own asking you would be wrong.
@@baconstrips6260 🤡
@@spectrumgaming3419 he’s just seeking attention through his pessimistic remarks, must’ve been awesome to see his bus during the early stages
@@baconstrips6260 touch of the green eyed monster huh?
He said something that really spoke to me. He said, "people will really gather around and and support you when you are passionate about something. So don't underestimate the power you have to effect and inspire other people." I love it!!
School buses make excellent tiny home conversions since they're well constructed and maintained. You did a great job on this one.
Have you been a school bus driver or school bus mechanic? I drove numerous buses for four years, and spent plenty of time talking to our mechanics who maintained a fleet of 250 buses. I assure you, school buses are not 'well constructed'. They are pumped out as fast as possible and only to minimum standards. You would be amazed how many have to be fixed for one thing or another right after delivery. Only our awesome mechanics kept those rattle traps road worthy.
@@nicke.3011 most RVs are pumped out too. Compared to a bus they are made flimsy and cheap. I would choose and bus built out over an RV any day. RVs cost more too.
I did a bus project once, they are way stronger more durable than motorhomes, the roof wont leak, etc, but they have several disadvantages. A bit less wide, the factory insulation is terrible, its a hotbox in summer all those windows eat up inside wall space, and more problem insulating, with no bug screens? Tell me you have bug screens? I was tempted to cut off the steel body and make welded tube styrofoam walls, then you got something.
Totally agree! He did an amazing and beautiful job. So talented!!!
@@brianshook3289 insulation is essentially non existent and all of those windows? Definitely needs severe remodel....I'd probably go with a shipping container over this.
wow, very talented. he definitely chose the right career for him
Sadly this schoolie is going to end up being sold on ebay or craigslist or maybe end up in a scrap yard, once he gets his degree and gets a high paying job or sets up his own company. 👍👍👍

Superb. All I would do is lose the fabric curtains. You don't need them and they are just dust collectors.
...and decorate!
Tell that to Howard Roark lol
Wow. This guy is talented. He could make these for a living for a lot of other college kids.
You can't use it unless you know how it's build. This isn't just a "tiny home" it's a truck with lots of stuff bolted to it. You have to know how to maintain it or you will ruin it. Buying a conversion like that would be like bying someone's wife. I see your wife is very nice, can I buy her? Even if the individual is willing to sell her, she won't be MY wife. Do you know what I mean?
@@ardvark84 No I don't and that is the most bizarre comparison I've ever heard. You'd have to learn to maintain a home as well if you want to not "ruin" it or at least stay financially afloat as well.
@@zrer8614 It's amazing that you can't see my point and yet you said basically the same thing.
@@ardvark84 - Your saying you 'bought' someones wife is the most misogynistic thing I've ever heard....and I've heard a lot of Bull Crap.

This is such a unique build. His style and attention to detail is impeccable
I love his thrift and innovation. Great example of setting a budget and making it happen.
Definitely. And he was lucky that he had free access to the tools and machines needed to take care of the custom work. People do amazing things
Especially how expensive is the cost of housing. He knows how to think outside the box
@@boffa-deez speak for yourself bum.
Normalizing homelessness.
I do not think it is normalizing homelessness his home is unconventional for sure. We are all suffering from the high cost of housing. He did something about it. Just my opinion
What you have here isn’t simply a home it’s a piece of art. Well done sir.
You have to acknowledge the man's talent. Not only is he an interior designer, but also he's a jack-of-all-trades, and he's on his way to being an architect. What's more, he plays the keyboard and the guitar. Incredible that he has so much in his repertoire.
Hi 👋 Dean, how are you doing?
@@patrickmckinley9937How am l doing? I am wishing life weren't moving so quickly. I want several more healthy decades. Thanks for asking. What's your perspective on it?
I feel ya. Sometimes I wonder if something strange is happening, ie. the Laws of Physics & Time have somehow been altered & time is moving swifter yet the reality doesn't look it.
It never ceases to amaze me at how creative and innovative young people are today. What an incredible build. Congratulations On an outstanding job well done!
This is the first time I've looked at a "tiny home" and didn't get claustrophobia! The windows and lights are amazing. Massive brownie points for the practical, actual closet space! A real bed, plenty of seating if friends drop by. Hope UT gave some credit hours for this, too! Your architectural career will be very successful. Great job and great design.
Had to laugh about the sewing, though. Done some plumbing, electrical, woodworking, etc., sewing is the slam dunk part for me. 😉
This bus ticks all the boxes. Double sink..long bench..corner seating..huge wardrobe. This is one of the coolest ones I have seen yet. Seriously..who needs a house.
Someone looking for good insulation and not having to empty the toilet themselves... Still an amazing conversion though
He can't even stand up straight when cooking.
House appreciates in value.....
This bus won't. However..... while he is young and single, sure. This is most likely cheaper than renting (least for the short term).
@@chriswalls6275 Yeah he's 6'2! He can always sit down and cook if he gets tired.
GLAD I LIVE IN A HOUSE
I've been watching tiny house/skoolie/van conversion videos for over a year now. I've easily watched over 1000 of them and this is, hands down, the best I've seen. The conversion is fabulously executed. The design and layout are spectacular, truly. One of the first I've seen that I can imagine living in (I'm a 5'11" female classical pianist) and everything is where it should be! The cherry on top is this young man's wisdom and insight as re attitude and the nonmaterial components that a project like this requires. Good job! Thanks for sharing.
You found answers for the important things! Water, flow, storage, cohesiveness, budget, etc...You really rocked this! I can't wait to see what you accomplish in the future!
I am an interior design and Architecture major as well, and I am equally fascinated but tiny homes and bus conversion. He did a really good job.
Yes to the closet space. Finally someone that's realistic about it! What a great home. Love it!
Yes the closet space got me.
This build is amazing and so neat, I love when the bed is neatly made up, can't stand a messy bed. You're awesome.
Hi Caleb,
Absolutely beautiful transformation!!
Just found your channel this afternoon and not only did I give the video a "thumbs up" but I am now a subscriber.
My wife and myself are both a very healthy 73 and have considered something like this for the past 1-2 years and you just might be the inspiration we need.
As long as you keep on posting - we'll keep on tuning in.
All the very best to you and yours and those you hold dear,

I like this idea so much better than a Tiny house on a trailer. This has everything, looks/feels homie & it's drivable!!
One benefit of a trailer is you can unhook it and have a normal mode of transportation. Can't drive a bus through a drive thru.
Definitely pros and cons to each one 😊
Estimated conversion price?
@@RealSavage7 That’s what I’m all about - My house is heavier than you house.
You will have to get a CDL license to drive it but hey other than that it’s cheaper than buying a new motor home.
Beautiful job! Where do you park it to live? Do you have a car you pull behind it?
Such a nicely designed and put together bus. It's so roomy and comfortable, you forget it's actually a bus.
You would have almost forgot his dad paid to make this a possibility.

Love the layout, custom closet doors and the “copper” industrial style lights over the bed. Gorgeous!
This may be the very best build I have ever seen on a bus. All of your efforts have certainly worked well.
One of the nicest builds I've seen, and I've been looking at hundreds of choices, from full size luxury RVs to mini campers. I've seen lots of buses but yours has the storage and layout i really like, especially for the cost. Good job!!
I used filing cabinets with locking drawers…. Worked great traveling nothing fell out on tight corners and bumpy roads
Wow, that's beautiful. If the engine is still good it could be a great RV and go cross country. A true home for $10k!?!? Unheard of. This is a great way to use those old school buses. Saw that it's insulated too using reflectix. Good job!
As someone with a dog, plays piano and guitar, works from home, and loves rustic... I approve of this BEAUTIFUL AMAZING AND PRACTICAL bus conversion. It’s so perfectly appointed, you’re the boss.
This guy is definitely on track! Hope Caleb inspires others to go for the most of the best. He certainly is.
This is one of the coolest school bus to tiny house conversions I've seen! You did a wonderful job with the layout & the finished piece is trendy & very cozy looking & feeling! Great job! I've seen a lot of conversions, but your advice to 'do the hard things first', and 'draw inspiration/encouragement from others to get you through (paraphrased)' encouraged me to stay the course with my full class-A RV demo and rebuild. It will be worth it, Thx

If this is what you can do with this budget I can only imagine what other wonderful things you can do with your ingenuity, creativity, and skill, I hope you continue to inspire others.
Wow. More than enough room for a person. It is beautifully, yet simply decorated.
Very impressive! Anyone could learn to do this but not everyone has the determination to see it through. I see an extremely bright future ahead of you, Godspeed.

Better than any small house I’ve seen. Love the blinds and curtains on the windows. Great little home.
Wow…so fantastic. I’m a senior looking to explore tiny house living so Caleb’s build is in my wheelhouse. Only problem is finding the energy to do the extensive work that would be required. So, I’m looking around for projects already done and purchase them outright.

Well articulated Video, Choosing the right industry to invest is very critical, Most times, it amazes me greatly how I moved from an average lifestyle to earning over $83k per month. Utter shock is the word. I have understood a lot in the past few years to doubt that opportunities are bound in the financial markets. The only thing is to know where to focus.
@Dulce de Leche I agree with you and I believe that the secret to financial stability is having the right investment ideas to enable you earn more money, I don’t know who agrees with me but either way I recommend either real estate or crypto and stocks.
@Ma Cherie That won't bother you if you trade with a professional like *Mr Gary Mason Brooks* my coach, you may have come across him on interviews relating to bitcoin. He trades, manage trading account and offer mentorship program for clients who wish to become professional investors.
Wow I can't believe you guys are discussing about *Gary Mason Brooks* , I once met him at a conference in California 2019, just before the pandemic. I can testify that he’s very good in trading..Highly recommended.

Brilliant! Loved how you had a budget and thought of such creative ways to make your home on wheels.
Your bus is powered by International's T444E which is the same engine as Ford's 7.3L Powerstroke V-8. In your model year of 1995, that engine created 210 hp @3000 rpm and developed 425 ft lbs of torque at 1600. When first introduced, the 7.3L was an engine ahead of its time due to its then unique Hydraulic Electronic Unit Injector (HEUI) fueling system and is highly sought after these days. Take care of it, and it will take care of you. It has the reputation of being overbuilt and as such it is the engine of choice for diesel racing.
