Your “left edge” trick is a nerve saver! I have struggled for years with that edge and a hint from you and a stitch marker are just what I needed. Thank you!
I´ve known how to Tunisian crochet for over 40 years and never ever before seen so clear instructions of making neat edges. Thank you so much Toni. I love your tutorials!
As a newbie I have managed to learn tunisian crochet because of you, but have never been happy with the left side, you explained so clearly i can only thankyou as a teacher you deserve all the gold stars,❤❤❤
WOW!!! I have ripped apart a project 3 times because I couldn’t t get my edges nice. This is a FABULOUS tutorial!!!! Thank you so much for making clear directions and showing your work!!!! ❤❤
Hi Toni, just started making a blanket using the Tunisian stitch and was thinking of frogging it all and making something else because I was having problems with the edges but then I seen your tutorial and now I can frog it at start fresh. Thank you!
Me at 4:30 when you pull out the stitch marker: whaaaaat YES of *course*, 🤯 And just like that the edges clicked for me. Excitedly casting a row right now. Yay!!
I haven't watched yet, but how did you know I needed this!? I love Tunisian but always struggle with the right edge. Alright, time to actually watch the video. 😅
I've been using UA-cam tutorials for all sorts of crafts for YEARS. I found your videos tonight and you are the first and only person I've ever subscribed to because I want to be able to find you again. Your tutorials are fantastic, you explain so well, you're not too slow and you don't faff about, you just get straight into the tutorial. I need to go to sleep now but it's Friday tomorrow, I can't wait until my children go to bed, my husband goes to the pub, and your videos are going on the big TV! I'm so glad I found your channel.
Thank you so much. I’ve frogged my bias blanket at least 5 times and stopped crocheting all together in frustration Now I feel I can get the left edge correct 😘
THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THE STITCH MARKER!!! Sorry for yelling, but it felt necessary, I have been struggling with the left edge to frustration, and now I feel so sure to be able to achieve a straight left edge. Thank you sooooooo much!!!!
I was struggling so much with the right side edge. I was about to give up on Tunisian crochet altogether. Then I tried the Tunisian half double crochet and now I'm in love. Perfectly even, no more loose stretched out look. And huge bonus: no curl! It looks similar to the simple stitch, so good alternative to that for me.
Such a great video. I have tried Tunisian crochet in the past but have been frustrated with the edges. My mom made a baby blanket years and years ago with the Tunisian stitch and now that she is gone I would like to make one in honor of her. It’s my goal in 2022 to do that. Blessings 💜💜
Once again, you have saved me hours of fiddling for the perfect edge and spared my yarn further abuse. You're doing a wonderful job and I can't say how much I appreciate your work enough.
OMG! Thank you so much for this video! I have been practicing my Tunisian knit stitch and could not figure out how to remedy the irregularity on the right side - I have been trying to play with tension on the forward pass - it never occurred to me that it was to keep tension on the return pass! You are an excellent teacher, clear and concise. Thank you!
I just finished my first tunisian scarf and boy howdy... the bottom is ok, the right side is passable but the left side is a three ring circus... I dropped stitches, I picked up stitches and I haven't even learned how to do that yet. (Over achiever I guess! Hahaha😅) I wish I had watched this first. Love you Toni!❤
forgot to say to you and fellow wool crafters have you seen the tension magnetic yarn holder omg its brilliant it will not release wool untill it feels your fist pull needing more wool and also if i catch it and it comes out and wraps it undoes its self i love it one less problem to worry about no more wool rolling around floor or in a basket love it
Just started Tunisian crochet and love it. I have been doing regular crochet for 25 years and I love Tunisian. You are such a great teacher. Thank you.
Tunisian crochet is something new I’ve incorporated into my ordinary crochet work, it’s perfect for spicing things up. My only problem is keep the edges straight. It seems like every time I create a new crochet I tend to think, that I’ve made. But actually, when rewatching, I’ve creating something funky. This has to be my problem for Tunisian crochet, too lol!
Training Wheels!!! I just shouted out loud "Toni, I love you" after watching this video. I'm kind of isolated and have so many questions as I get started on Tunisian crochet ... I'm SO glad to have this channel to turn to. You anticipate all my issues and explain everything so clearly. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Toni I discovered you during sheltering in place. Yes I stayed because crochet is relaxing for me . Ok really because of you… I’m really enjoying you UA-cam chats… my new grandsons are the recipients of my resurgence in crochet. Thank You again
I just found your channel, & I love this tutorial! While I already know how to do Tunisian crochet, I didn’t know how to make the left edge smooth. I watched another tutorial, but it was confusing for me, & her video was a bit blurry. Thank you, & I’m a new subscriber!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! That left edge was driving me nuts! I’ve been working on the same headband for three days, frogging back so many times I lost count. I’m halfway done now and will finish it this afternoon. 🎉
Hi Tony! I am working on the Tunisian Snowy Sampler and I had problems with my right edge, I should've looked for this video before starting! This is AWESOME, you are AWESOME!! THANK YOU
Thank you!!!!! Thank you so much for this. I just picked up this hobby in January and I love this stitch but was having problems with clean edges. This saves me!!!!! Thank you again so much for this tutorial!!!!!
Oh my god. I’ve been making a patchwork sweater for a while now and been confused why the left side of my squares were kinda funky. Apparently I’ve been going into the wrong stitch there on the return. Thank you lol.
Amazinggggggg, this is super helpful. My Tunisian pieces were lacking that extra finesse, and I couldn't understand why my edges were so wonky! Thank you. Love you videos. xx
I was so excited to see this video. I've been struggling with the right edge being too lose, but things I was trying wasn't working. Thank you for this very helpful video! ❤️
Hi Toni, I’m new to your channel and just started getting into crochet. Knitting is my first love, but Tunisian crochet speaks to me. I can’t stop watching your videos,
I love watching you channel. You just did a review on hooks you did like. I'm just starting out if you aren't going to use the hooks, I would live to take them off your hands and any extra yarn. You are so up beat I can watch all day. Thanks again for Sharing.
Hi Toni, just wanted to say thanks for a really great video! I find your way of explaining and demonstrating really easy to follow. I've been crocheting for years but never mastered Tunisian crochet. I'll be trying out these tips for sure. Love your work!
Toni, those stitch markers are also great for counting out long starting chains. I just insert one every 20 - 25 stitches until the desired length is achieved. Especially helpful if you anticipate interruptions, and as always, great for those beginning and ending stitches. Thanks for all your great advice. I might go back to Tunsian thanks to you!
I love the way you teach so patiently and encouragingly. I’d love to send you a screenshot of a swatch and watch you critique it for us all to see what’s incorrect and what could be tidied up a bit. I think I could move to a real project then. Are you up for it?
My daughter recently bought some Tunisian crochet hooks. I searched YT for a real good channel and that was you! I told her about you and she said she had made her own search and came up with you too!
Hi Tony! I wish I had this video before my sweater project! I just want you to know I picked up this lovely craft because of you, and I check your videos first for everything!
Thank you so much for your video on how to crochet clean edges. I unraveled my previous messy edged work and started afresh. Now I have clean edges. Thank you again.
This was a very clear explanation of how to correct those meandering sides. I needed these tips for my first Tunisian crochet afghan. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have problems wth my right edge being loose. I've watched so many tutorials tryin to figure out what I was doing wrong and how to fix it. By far your tutorial was the best. I sometimes wish I could actually be sitting beside the instructor as they help me learn. Thanks again.
I love your videos and I find your instructions so easy to follow. So easy, in fact, my twelve year old granddaughter has picked up Tunisian crochet and loves it! I’m trying to keep up with her! Thank you for sharing your talent, you are a incredible teacher!
your amazing i am addicted to watching i dont have time to learn lol i do sometimes but i am learning while listening ive made my first order on paint box aran to maybe help me become a good crochet godess lol
I believe Toni has a review of different Tunisian hooks available. Personally I would suggest a set that has cords rather than a long hard one. They're easier on my wrist.
As a fellow coffee drinker, I'm awaiting you having your own coffee cup designed on your website for shopping. Video is spectacular. Thank you for email directing me here! I am absolutely loving your sharing of your wonderful techniques.
This video is a year old at the point but OMG I am SO glad I found it! I had massive trouble with the Tunisian honeycomb stitch, frogging an entire completed dish towel. I found this video about 10 row into the next version and you would not Believe the difference in my left hand edges! Seriously, the top 3/4 is even and smooth, but the bottom - girl it’s a mess! Still, I will keep it to remind me of your tips. Amazing video and I’m so glad I found you!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I just picked up a tunisian chrochet set, and your tutorials are Outstanding! I am loving the way you show and give the tips/tricks as you go through each stitch pattern. I can't wait to try a garment, but I am having so much fun learning a new craft and doing all the swatches (all by watching your videos). You may be the reason I go from being a Knitter to a Crocheter! All the blessings for your work!
The videos of your making the ear warmers was on my feed... Quickly got out a steel crochet hook and tried. Just love this Tunisian style crochet. I have watched this video but even though I'm using a marker I'm still not getting the left side right. Will keep trying maybe something to do with my tension. So glad I saw your channel.
Thank you for that tip with the stitch marker - that has been my biggest challenge, finding the right loops on that side! I'm going to give Tunisian another shot!
Brand new to crochet and feel lucky to have found you channel so early! Picked up crochet while on vacation with a friend, but she lives so far away! Happy to find your awesome videos to keep me going and trying new things. Love your personality 😄
Hi Toni! I just pre-ordered your book on Amazon and I am SO EXCITED! AAAAA! This video was very educational and I loved it! Whenever you make a tutorial, it just clicks in my head and I can instantly do it! THANK YOU SO MUCH! -chxrry
This is really helpful---I'm doing overlay mosaic in Tunisian and carry the yarns up the side but in improving sides of one color Tunisian, this will help. The stitch marker will help in improving the left side. Your tutes are always quite clear and helpful.
So glad I found this video. You have answered my question (I've been wondering about) as to why you only pull through one loop to begin your return pass. It's to make a chain st as normally done. (Thinking of it now, that was quite obvious. LOL 😉.) I'm new to Tunisian crocheting, and, I have a question I hope you can answer. How do you start the return pass for a HDC, DC, or, TC row if you have one ? Is it simply chaining more times as you would on regular crocheting ? TYSM for sharing this video with us, and, I hope you're still making your tutorials for us. 😉👍😻.
Yay! Thank you so much for this! I've just started Tunisian crochet in the last month, based on your videos. But I've been having such a hard time with the edges. It's been getting better, but I'm so glad to see this! Can't wait for your book! ❤️❤️❤️
I have been crocheting for 40 years and I have to say this loud for the people in the back - YOU ARE FREAKING AMAZING!! 💯
