I had a lot of fun with Hitmonlee in Trick Room. Unburden Iron Ball Fling Close Combat Blaze Kick Stone Edge Iron Ball cuts his speed in half, making him slow enough for Trick Room. After fling, Unburden doubles his speed, andthe Iron ball ceased cutting his speed in half. So, effectively his speed would swing by a factor of 4 when Trick Room was ending. Ultimately, not enough power to be a truly viable strategy. And if it was viable, people would know that Fling was coming on the last turn of Trick Room. BUT IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!
Cresselia is amazing! I still do online battles for Ultra Moon and one of my main Pokemon is a Cresselia. Calm Mind, Moonlight, Psychic and Moon Blast. 17:15. I'm not that sure. First of all, Passimian is a thing in RU, as well as Bewbear, Scrafty, Gallade and Virizion, all of which have more useful niches, while everyone and their mother got Close combat to match Hitmonlee's High Jump Kicks. Second, The hazard setters are not the best matchups for hitmonlee. Specially for Mudsdale because of Stamina, but also bulky Rhydon and Claydol. Third, other defoggers/spinners. Since heavy duty boots are a thing, the hazard cleaners are more effective. That includes Charizard, Rotom-M, Xatu, Braviary and Silvally, all of them with better niches and/or recovery. But is not that bad, mostly because he is the best offensive spiner available, and Sticky web teams prefer Rapid spin over defog so still has a legitime niche in some kind of teams, but otherwhise...
This video is dated, when it was released virizion was no were to be seen and other pokemon like gurdur were in the tier too. RU has been creeping up in power and hitmonlee is worse for all of the reasons you said.
@@kingwailord4143 The competition is just too good compared to Hitmonlee. Passimian is a better Scarfer, Gallade has priority and can check other fithing types, Bewear has more defensive utility, Virizion has 108 Speed coupled with nice special bulk and even Scrafty can have some uses with intimidate and Knock off STAB (Altough I'm already seeing it in NU). Nowadays Hitmonlee is even underwhelming as a spinner since RU got Starmie who is much faster and can check rock users, as well as Espeon with Magic bounce, Tornadus-I with prankster and almost every mon I mentioned some months ago. But sometimes, you'll find a weird hole on your team that an otherwhise unviable mon will fill really well, and that mon could be Hitmonlee. For example, my most used team has a Mesprit because I needed a hazard setter with knock off and the hability to check bewear (Healing wish is also a nice gift I guess) Update: RU had some important changes and the fighting types of choice are Mienshao if you want a scarf user/offensive pivot, Heracross if you want a wallbreaker and Cobalion if you want an offensive support/setup sweeper, with more niche options in Bewear and Lucario. In NU he is not completely unviable but there's almost no reason to not use Sirfetch'd, while Machamp, Toxicroak, Passimian and Virizion are also something worth considering. Finally in PU... Passimian is top tier, while Scrafty and Toxicroak are not far behind; it can be used but his playstyle is kinda gimmicky due to the rapid spin support being better done by Tsareena.
I've been watching these videos since the very beginning, and I was wondering why I enjoyed this video so much more than most of the recent videos, and then it hit me: no VGC Honestly I love your content and the production value is so high, but lately it seems like the videos just barely touch on singles strategies for each gen and then go into a long list of the name of a doubles player, the name of a tournament, and the placement that player got. Over and over and over. I guess that is interesting to some people (and I know the videos are technically about "history" in competitive play) but I just wish you would focus a bit more time on strategies compared to the long lists of tournament placements
I agree most of these videos could be cut in half if they removed all the reading of names and placements at whatever who gives af regionals I want to hear about strategies, usage, counters, its competition etc etc

I had a lot of fun with Hitmonlee in Trick Room.
Unburden
Iron Ball
Fling
Close Combat
Blaze Kick
Stone Edge
Iron Ball cuts his speed in half, making him slow enough for Trick Room.
Can you do cresselia next, please?
Honestly the back ground music always gets me extra hyped haha

Glad to see you acknowledging your own habits.🤣
What about how GREAT was CRESSELIA, actually?
You did Darkrai, but left the true nightmare.
Look at the community post as it clearly states that Cresselia will not be made for a long time
Pretty sure he said he was saving Cresselia for a special occasion. It would be cool to see a video on it though

When’s the next lunar event
Cresselia is amazing! I still do online battles for Ultra Moon and one of my main Pokemon is a Cresselia. Calm Mind, Moonlight, Psychic and Moon Blast. I maxed out her physical defense and HP so whenever I set up, it’s hilarious when the internet “disconnects” from the person I battle. (A.k.a, they rage quit. Happens every time XD)
1. you leave requests in the community tab, not here.
2. he already states that it won't be made for a while, most likely due to it's success in VGC
Anyone else who remembers Hitmonlee’s voice in The Legend of Thunder?
Say it with me folks:
Gen V RU was the best meta we've ever seen
I like gen 4 UU and gen 8 Pu and ru better
Gen 2 UU - Gen 3 UU - Gen 4 UU - Gen 5 RU
I wish Gamefreak would give some more love to these older Pokes. Maybe it's cause I'm biased but it'd be nice to see the Hitmon line get another evolution. I'd love to see a video on Kingler. No lie I was excited and disappointed when they revealed Kingler's Gigantimax form, I was hoping it was a new evo for it.
For example, my most used team has a Mesprit because I needed a hazard setter with knock off and the hability to check bewear (Healing wish is also a nice gift I guess)
Update: RU had some important changes and the fighting types of choice are Mienshao if you want a scarf user/offensive pivot, Heracross if you want a wallbreaker and Cobalion if you want an offensive support/setup sweeper, with more niche options in Bewear and Lucario.
Hitmonlee was one of my first pokemon ever, so it is really good to see that it was good after gen 2
*Sweepmonlee*
"Sir, the new pokemon looks way too similar to an actual human, what should we do?"
"Just decapitate it and turn its nippel into eyes."
I know what everyone wants:
How GOOD was Chimecho ACTUALLY?
That's a lie, i want terrakion
Every video that you mention Hypno it hurts me that seemingly nobody but me wants a video about him.
Finally, This has been postponed by the community for a long time lol
Excuse me sir. You’re sitting on my body which is also my face.
I've been watching these videos since the very beginning, and I was wondering why I enjoyed this video so much more than most of the recent videos, and then it hit me: no VGC
Honestly I love your content and the production value is so high, but lately it seems like the videos just barely touch on singles strategies for each gen and then go into a long list of the name of a doubles player, the name of a tournament, and the placement that player got. Over and over and over.
I guess that is interesting to some people (and I know the videos are technically about "history" in competitive play) but I just wish you would focus a bit more time on strategies compared to the long lists of tournament placements
I agree most of these videos could be cut in half if they removed all the reading of names and placements at whatever who gives af regionals
I want to hear about strategies, usage, counters, its competition etc etc
The duration of the video is decided by VGC placement, strategy and smogon set
Yoo I love your channel and I happened to hear you commentating at hax’s nightclub! Keep up the good work man
I shall not stop!
How GREAT was CRESSELIA, actually?
You can’t vote for it because it would take too long to make in a single week.
Can't vote here anyway. Go to the community tab.
