He was a pre cristian pagan who defended his people from an invading "empire" (I know it was still a republic at the time). My family comes from the same region as him. I chose this name because he is an interesting historical figure.
I also live in Germany and it's very hard to tbe a Catholic with the bishops we have. We feel very abandoned.

I live in Germany, Nordrheinwestphalia and in the church a few streets next to me LGBTQ masses also take place. The priest says he can't wait the day until a woman will stand on the same position he does (being a priest) and there is an organization of women traveling often to Cologne and protesting with the reason to give women the opportunity to become priests as well. My family and I just call it a sect. Here are a few really good and catechism based churches as well,but something like this is not rare here - it's the opposite. Please pray for Germany! ❤️ Some of my classmates, very engaged in church ones told me, sex before marriage would not be forbidden by the catholic church, because their priest obviously thaught them so. It's very sad and I have to say that until I got to know Ascension Presents I struggled with the truth too. Luckily my roots are polish and the polish catholic church is not as damaged as the German catholic church is (from my point of view) ❤️

Ralph Martin was just about the first Catholic I met as a timid revert back in 2010. He was a speaker at a CCR conference in Pennsylvania. He was speaking on St Catherine of Sienna. I was so scared to be Catholic and I approached his table after the talk. He looked me in the eye and said: “You want to be a saint don’t you?” And I nodded, not totally sure what he meant. He handed me a collection of cds - his whole St Catherine lecture series, which he was asking 60 dollars for. I was very poor at the time, living on beans and rice. He gave me the cds for free. I went off and listened to them diligently and this action cemented my commitment to stay in the Catholic Church. I was very moved by Mr. Martin’s kindness.

It's a false religion.
As an Asian Catholic it's really sad to see this mess happening in the Western churches. Christianity (Catholic) philosophies was the one thing that many Asian cultures lacked. And because of that, admired, whether we liked it or not. There's a lot of wisdom and values that it carries with it.
Now it seems, with the waning of the church, Asia doesn't want to look to the West for anything anymore. I personally think that's sad.
The CC still has its wisdom in its Magesterium! The churches are not the source of depth, just the place we go to to receive the eucharist. The full wisdom is in the countless pieces of literature produced by it and worth reading.
But i understand, the more terrible examples out there, the less anyone will want to do anything with it. Which is so sad, there are so many saints who show exactly the heroism we need today from our leaders.

I have a similar background and married a German so live in Germany. I'm very concerned for our children and grandchildren.
Jesus will take care of his church despite what appears to be happening. He said, "I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." We mustn't get tunnel vision; the church has been in way worse situations and come out of those times.
My heart yearns for our Holy Church. It yearns for the souls of those ppl who continue to live in sin because they are mislead by these bishops. But, I have courage because God always works even through our sin. I hope that out of this terrible situation good will come. 12 years ago I was a pro choice, lgbtq, hardcore feminist. Glory to God I was invited to the Catholic Church by someone who did not judge me or condemn me. It wasn’t until 4 or 5 years later that I truly began to understand the beauty of the teaching of the Catholic Church. I am now married, pro life, and open to life as well. It’s a glory and miracle to be open to life and to accept the children God wants to give me. I know God is allowing this for a reason❤️

@@peipappy615 They are just Southern Californian teenagers learning about the great Anne of Green Gables. They always love the book. The whole class is based on the Middle Ages (Europe, Middle East, Northern Africa) - so Anne is a bit of a break from all that - though that is not why they like the book...at least not the only reason. The school is St. Therese Carmelite School in Alhambra.

@@peipappy615 not sure if you're interested in it, but Poland in fact isn't made of majority of orthodox catholics. Not anymore anyway, because efforts of zealous catholics ensured that we secularize at a threatening pace. As a result the position on lgbt and/or abortion is less and less aligning with orthodox teachings. Just a loose lesson for today: the more you shove down a religon down someone's throat the less effective it is. As a result our government is more catholic than most of the nation it governs over, which doesn't bode well for church after said government is gone.
Francis won't accept Marx's resignation, but he goes after orthodox priests with a vengeance?! Cardinals and Bishops need to address this heresy, NOW! REPENT and beg for God's Mercy!

Donot be discouraged. The Catholic Church is Christ's and no matter how many bishops become heretics the Church and her teachings shall remain faithful to Christ. Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit will preserve her from teaching error. Let us forgive the bishops and speak out in opposition to their heretical ideas. Just to add to Peace and Joy's comment, remember that Jesus promised the gates of Hell will not prevail against His Church. The Holy Spirit will come through just as in past times in the Church's turbulent history. Remember that this is a very small minority of ministers supporting this moral heresy. During the Arian crisis nearly have the bishops sided with Arias until the council of Nicaea. Even after the council it took many years before there was full obedience to the Divinity of Christ.

I'm from Germany. And the German Catholic Church has many problems. I think one of the biggest problems is the so-called "church tax". Every German has to pay this church tax or leave the church.accordingly, the church in Germany also has an unhealthy proximity to the state and its ideologies. the money supply could probably be turned off quickly if one were too critical or too Catholic. The priests there do not live from donations, but receive a high salary every month from the state. You don't even have to make an effort to fill your church or celebrate a good Holy Mass. By the way, the diocese of Munich is the richest diocese in the world and you can see what is happening there. (Once it was the diocese of Pope Benedict.) It was among the best. Now it's probably one of the worst managed...

@@reclaimingthesword9426 No, you will not be kicked out. the church tax is automatically deducted from your salary every month. If you no longer wish to pay them, you must resign from the Church. But from what I've heard, it's not allowed under canon law. the church tax has existed since imperial times. so probably more than 150 years.

Also coming from Germany here. Yes, it's bad. But there are plenty of faithful Catholics. I think the synodal weg needs to be explicitly condemned by the pope. Wouldn't be bad either if the church tax was done away with.
I agree and have always felt this mandatory tax was an obstacle to many who mightv otherwise have entered the church. The bishops should also not be civil servants with huge salaries. I think it's turned their heads.

Who are the ones that are in most danger of being injured or killed? Where is the attack force most fierce? On the front lines. Satan is attacking all of those who pose the most threat... the clergy, religious, and the family itself. They need our prayers, our unfailing faith and above all Hope. If the faithful can't cry out to God on their behalf, many will fall. The battle being waged right now is powerful, but not unbeatable. Unless... we point fingers, wine, complain and just give up.
Let us take up our battle array listed for us in Ephesians Chapter 6. And Trust that our God is greater than anything thrown at us from all the evil spirits roaming throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Let's call on St. Michael every day to defend and preserve those who rightly belong to God. We should call on the entire Communion of Saints to come to our aid in these desperate times. They are waiting to offer their help.

I've come to realise that the greatest evil at work in this world is the desire for the approval of people. This cardinal is desiring to be liked by the world and as such has sold out the faith. We have to be strong, just look at john the baptist. He called out Herod and his brothers wife publicly, he did not sell out to save his own neck he didn't sell out to avoid persecution. And Jesus said John was the greatest who ever lived.........that's who we are to be like.
You're right. Bishop Batzing did the same in an interview with a secular magazine. They seem to think if they speak and behave like this more people will be attracted to their church when in fact the opposite is the case.

We are suffering a spiritual battle, but do not fear. Jesus' promise that the gates of Hell will not prevail against His Church will be kept. Just like in past Church calamities, the Holy Spirit will come through. But we must pray and fast! Pray and work for their conversion. If our enemies are converted they are no longer enemies. One way or the other God delivers His people from their enemies. We hope it will be by conversion because we do not want them to go to hell, but repent and be saved. Our will must conform to God's holy will.
Human beings have always wanted and tried to save themselves from their own sins and earn their own eternal salvation. It is part of our sinful nature to do so. But there is no amount of human good works that could ever satisfy the demands of perfect holiness before YHWH because we “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). But Jesus, The Christ, was SINLESS and He satisfied all the demands of perfect righteousness. So He shed His own blood and died for our sins in order to redeem us. Then He rose from the dead and victoriously offered that glorious gift of eternal life to anyone and everyone who believes in Him and His promise to give us this gift. Hallelujah, What a Savior!! AND NOW we are FREE in Christ - at LIBERTY to LOVE OTHERS!

Is there a difference between Eternal Salvation and Temporal Sanctification/Discipleship? Are the words/concepts “Believer” and “Disciple” synonymous?. Questions: Are all ‘believers’ disciples? And: Are all ‘disciples’ believers?. Many say - and strongly advocates that ALL “genuine believers” are “Disciples”. If someone genuinely believes, he will go on to become a “FULL FLEDGED” FOLLOWER of CHRIST. IN FACT, for most say, a person has to “COMMIT” to BEING A DISCIPLE in order to be SAVED. And subsequently has to live a life of “SIGNIFICANT DISCIPLESHIP” in order to PROVE that he/she “REALLY MEANT IT” or “SINCERELY AND GENUINELY COMMITTED TO DISCIPLESHIP” at the time of “coming to Faith” or it was not “SAVING FAITH”. But, actually the correct answer to both questions is “No” or the answer to NEITHER QUESTION IS “YES”. Not all believers are disciples AND not all disciples are believers.
The word “believer” simply means a person who holds something to be true. In this context, a “believer’ is someone who believes in/on Jesus, The Christ and therefore has Eternal Life. The word “disciples” simply means ‘learner’ or ‘follower’. In this context a Disciples is someone who learns from Christ and follows Him (i.e. obeys the commands of the Scriptures). Of course, we know from Scripture that there were lots of people who believed in Jesus but who did not ‘follow Him’ or ‘learn from Him’. The “Thief on the Cross” would be the classic example. He clearly believed in/on Jesus but had no opportunity to become a “disciple” of Christ. For a larger context example, one could look at the Christians in the Church at Corinth. Many of those “believers” were clearly not ‘disciples/followers’ or had any interest in ‘learning about Him and/or how to follow the commands of Jesus. They were believers in Christ. They were not disciples of Christ. John 8:28-39 describes “Believers” in Yeshua who had not YET become “disciples” of Yeshua. Judas Iscariot is the classic example of a Disciple of Christ who was not a Believer in Christ. John 6:60-66 explicitly describes ‘disciples’ (followers of Yeshua) who were not “believers” in Yeshua.
The entire FOCUS changes if one realizes that Eternal Salvation is “SEPARATE” and “DISTINCT” from ‘Growing in Christ/’maturing Sanctification’. (The older classic Dispensationalists used to teach that “sanctification” had three ‘phases’. There was ‘initial sanctification’ which was the ‘setting apart’ that occurred at the time of ‘faith in Christ’.
Secondly, there is ‘ongoing sanctification’ which is the long term spiritual growth to maturity that ‘SHOULD’ take place as a NORMAL PROCESS in every believer’s life.
Finally, there is ‘final sanctification’ that occurs at a Believer’s physical death and subsequent reception of his/her resurrected body. Paul Enns called these ‘phases’ Positional Sanctification, Experiential Sanctification, and Ultimate Sanctification in his Moody Handbook of Theology, pp. 329-330). Often used terminology is that of “Justification” versus “Sanctification”. It's best NOT to use these terms for the simple reason that these terms are used biblically in both Eternal Salvation contexts and spiritual growth to spiritual maturity contexts. The term “justification/justified’ has been particularly troubling because the Apostle Paul clearly uses it in Romans to talk about Eternal Salvation and James clearly uses it to talk about being “justified by works” (spiritual growth to maturity). “Progressive/Ongoing Sanctification” is the TERM “DISCIPLESHIP/DISCIPLE MAKING”. That is a great term and the “disciple making’ terminology is what YESHUA Himself used in the Great Commission - Matt. 28:18-20. Thus, this is PERHAPS the BEST TERMINOLOGY. It is the “DISCIPLE” terminology that YESHUA uses in the John 15 too - “If you abide in Me… you bear much fruit; so that you will be My Disciples.” (Jn 15:7-8). Eternal Salvation and Ongoing Discipleship are separate “categories/aspects” of our Christian Life. Yet, most views them together - as one in the same thing. AND thus, they make the REQUIREMENTS of being a DISCIPLE of CHRIST (which are many and set at a very high bar) also the REQUIREMENTS FOR ETERNAL SALVATION (which is a FREE GIFT received by ‘faith alone in Christ alone) Many proponents view the conditions for discipleship as a condition for salvation.

We are all called to chastity, no matter our situations in life. Saying that gay marriage is acceptable in the Catholic Church is literally saying that chastity and Catholic sexual ethics don't matter anymore.
I was healed from SSA through conversion. If I had lived in Germany, maybe this would have never happened. Let’s face it: from Germany there come all possible heresies. Most German Catholics aren’t Catholics any longer.

I hve many SSA friends and we have some very deep respectful conversations.. One comment I make that rings very true for me is "God loves you very much. Those He loves most He gives the heaviest cross in life but He never abandons you....He just asks you to step up to the mark with Him at His crucification to save souls by sacrifice of one aspect if your life.... Love is all around you".
Those that have stepped up here you have my deepest respect.... the price is high but inner peace is yours and the value of that is greater.

I live in the Diocese of Munich and I do not know anyone, who agrees with what Cardinal Marx is doing (at least among Catholics, of course. I think you ought to read what St. Paul had to say about the matter. In the first Chapter off Romans he referred to sodomy as a kind of madness, one brought about by the worship of false gods. Remember the saying, “Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad.” But of course Paul give it to “straight” people who indulge in “free love”. Someone like Jack Kennedy. Many people mix and confuse the concept of Love and sex. I can love my friends and neighbours with the same sex with out having any sexual relation. The catechism said that homosexuals are welcomed to the church and must being treated with respect and compassion, and they must keep chastity; but also likewise heterosexuals, unless they are married with the sacrament, otherwise they commit adultery and fornication. So what's it wrong with the cardinal? Did he officially said that they can receive marriage?
It's more about what he implies. There is plausible deniability. However without further explanation (which is usually not given) this leads people to draw the wrong conclusions.

The Church cannot be "one, holy, catholic and apostolic" if what is a sin in Asia and Africa is "not sin" in Europe or America and so also if the bishops and priests do not hold to apostolic teaching with regards to faith and morals. It is heartbreaking to see that even Cardinals and bishops in the West are capitulating to the unbelieving culture that surrounds them. They need to be converted to the basics of Christianity and build the Church from scratch. Asia and Africa were evangelized by the West, but now there's very little to admire in many Western Churches (Matt Fradd and Ralph Martin are exceptions 😇. Thank God for your minority but powerful voices). Unfortunately, too many years of compromise on a personal level for bishops and priests in the West has led to the decay of the faith life of the laity and of the Church as a community of witness.

Non-denominational christian here. I've been watching this with concern, and its interesting to see the discussions about it on this channel because they talk about them from a very devout RCC perspective, which I dont hear a lot of.
I have a question, just treat it as a hypothetical. At what point would you abandon the church as corrupted? If the pope fully embraced this, and other things for example, would you leave the church or not? At what point would you?
