The German Tiger heavy tank is infamous for being a tough vehicle, especially in War Thunder. So what if you it and made it even beefier? The Panzerbefehlswagen VI P (Pz.Bef.Wg.VI P) is a modified version of Ferdinand Porsche's heavy tank design. It has an electric transmission and double the frontal armor of its tech tree counterpart. It used to be a higher battle rating but Gaijin lowered it to 5.7. It's a fun tank, but working with less-than-stellar teammates can be frustrating.

When I got the IS-1 and IS-2 I was so used to angling in the KVs that I just kept doing it for a few games
He did it with the b1 ter, and wondered why he had horrible penetration. He wasn’t using the main gun of the tank, the hull gun is a larger caliber than the turret gun, in the b1 ter’s case.

From what I've seen. With the exception of 1 command tank, and a few recovery vehicles. All got turned into Ferdinands
its also not really like they wanted to use it, more that Porsche decided that he was gonna win the trial anyways and had already produced several hundred hulls that they were now stuck with
@@YouSietse Porsche didn't decide anything, he got a full contract from the Waffenamt for a 101 vehicles which matches perfectly with 1 prototype, 10 troop training vehicles and then enough vehicles to equip 2 heav tank battalions of 45 each.
And that didn't really help the vehicle really did it now.
Whenever I faced this thing as the US in a 76mm anything, I faced the same mental gymnastics as a Tiger H1 player shooting at a Jumbo Sherman.

@@NotGrimman yeah that's what I do asw, especially in tournaments. The 76 shermans and t-34 85 is absolutely great for this.

the last time i played 5.7 germany, i got 15 kills, i was the only german on a russian, italian, swedish team, it was so nice, my flanks were covered, AA did its job, and people scouted and called out positions

The last time I played 5.7 Italy, I got 3 assists because my only teammates are German.
This match was an absolute blowout BTW, my next match was against the Germans and my team then got ROFLStomped by said German team.

Great take. Bushes are P2W. You can cover up a tank and completely break up its silhouette so that the enemies don’t even know what they’re shooting at. That’s clearly an advantage.
Exactly, and if you're part of the old guard when bushes were released. You could get a 12 pack of large and small bushes, 6 each. It's crazy now how they broke it up so you can only have 1 of each with the new bushes.

You getting surrounded because the team is sitting in the back is so relatable it's the most infiuriating thing in this game
People don’t want to push, die from a sniper in a great vantage point (cas doesn’t go after them because bombing spawn is easier) and then have to pay the repair cost.
@G. Williams yeah they are too scared to die where they could cover the repair cost by helping teammates going for caps I see this in top tier and it's insane how can people be still garbage after grinding for so long
Lmao, helping teammates is never gonna cover SL repair cost, the only way to do that is to get like 4 kills and not die or get 2 caps by yourself because gaijin are masters at discouraging teamwork, the German tanks are specially shit for getting kills from up close, so you get entire teams of people who don't want to pay repairs and stay sniping out of spawn because most maps are urban as fuck.
@Haxler that's a skill issue you can get those kills by killing ennemies focusing teammates and if you know the strength of your tank things are easier there are so many tiger players for example who don't know the concept of angling the armor
There's a movie about the guy that went to Alaska and died, called Into The Wild, his story is wild and i'm glad Spookston knew about him too. It wasn't confirmed what killed him, but the popular theory was he ate poisonous seeds (not potatoes) and he either got paralyzed by the poison and died of starvation or he died from the poison.
The seeds he ate were from a plant called "wild potato", so Spook isn't that far off. The poison weakened and paralyzed him because he was starving, which weakened his body.

I thought he died from “rabbit starvation”? He was mostly living off of small game like squirrels and rabbits, so no matter how much he ate, his body would just not process it at all after awhile because the meat was too lean.
@@Smetrix that's the other issue. His diet was not good to begin with and he was malnourished and starving. This meant that he was vulnerable to the toxic enzyme in the seeds of the "potato".
I like the aesthetic of foliage on tanks, but I refuse to use them in game, they feel dirty

The thing I love about the Porsche Tiger is that it can effectively fight IS-2s because most of them see the tiger turret and they just shoot center mass and non-pen the 204mm of armor, sometimes the 122 doesn't even fuse on the commander's cupola

The Porshe Tiger was my first premium tank and i do not regret it one bit. Every now and again I bring it out to relive the glory days.

Try US GRB 7.3 :D dropped from over 60% win rate @6.7 to under 40% winrate @7.3 while still performing better (better k/d, more caps, repairs, assists)
Yeah, while grinding the Sturmtiger event, I went down to 5.3-5.7 Germany because I thought it would be fun.

German teams at that BR are so egregiously smoothbrained, you’d think they were bred in a laboratory to find out how stupid humans can get before they choke on their own spit.

Besides that jape, I regularly play germany 6.7 and I rarely have a problem with dumb teammates. Maybe they all get sent to my games and there just aren't any more left for you xd
I've been keeping a steady 57% winrate for over a year now playing mostly germany 6.7
Among across that many Shermans is probably the most historically accurate thing in a game ever. Now you know how it feels to be a German tank commander in 1944-45
I wouldn’t say so, 90% of the tank kills on allied sides in the western front were Canadian and British encounters, not so many shermans
This just might be my favorite tank. The 280g TNT equivalent filler APHE is glorious and unlike the regular Tiger you can actually rely on the armor more than not. You can even peek a corner at a slight angle just enough to get the barrel clear while still hiding the weak cheek.

This is by far my favourite German heavy tank, makes me feel like I'm in my IS-1 having such a weird armor scheme and good reverse speed, I laugh every time someone shoots off my barrel and I reverse out of sight immediately with the enemy just looking confused

They recently improved the mobility of the Porsche based tanks in game! Hence the better mobility!

The reason why the Ferdinand and the tiger Porsche actually feel very mobile is bc they use electric engines. Despite being 1940s electric engines, even if the vehicles are underpowered, electric engines are actually more powerful “per horsepower”.
I think it's bad when a game you would be proud of is disappointing and annoying for someone else, lmao.
You should play the 2.3 Russian T-80, it has the mobility of a German super heavy, a turret that takes a full hour to rotate 90°, the armor of a truck, and a gun that is almost as good as a .50 cal. The pinnacle of Russian engineering!

Id love to see you play the AML-90 as its one of my favorite tanks, The fast speed and amazing gun just makes it so fun to play.
I'd be glad to see Obj 268. I've tried it not long ago and the thing turned out to be really fun when not uptiered. Its surprisingly extremely tanky in 6.7 battles, and high velocity 152mm cannon using APHE is just obliterating everything. Plus, for its size and amount of armor its not as slow as you would expect it to be
The object 268 and ISU-122-54 are god tier casemates. Way better than the german ones. Though i guess nobody uses them due to all the shit before them. (su-85m is good to). Having over q KG of explosive filler is awsome in an APHE too. And the 14.5mm is insane. It can actually pen the m41s turret and kill the gunner. Iv killed 3 or 4 m41s that way. And ofc is great for killing planes going for a bombing run.
Its really great on squadron battle too (at B.R 6.7). Tiger II (H) will struggle to kill you, the only thing that can pen you from the front is some light tank with HEAT-FS or APDS. Pople rarely use light tank in squadron battle because it's very risky, once you get spotted by an enemy, then you will be strafed by their plane.
I love its gun noise, its different from the Tiger H1 I believe.

@@mbgaming1017 flank it, you can outflank it even with IS-2 because the turret rotation is very bad. Also the mobility is worse than the regular Tiger I.
This is one of my faves (I use bushes, idc) but surprisingly and seemingly half of the people on the war thunder subreddit labels this tank as their worst tank they bought.
Reason this was sent to the front was to act as a command vehicle for the 653rd heavy Tank destroyer battalion, one of the units using the Ferdinand, giving them some parts commonality

I don't have this tank but I do have the base model Tiger P which is my favourite tank both in game and irl despite it's "quirks" (being terrible). On one hand, it doesn't have the improved frontal armour but it is at 5.3 instead of 5.7 and is several tons higher and has a higher top speed in both forwards and reverse.

Reminds me of when I was working through the Russian tech tree and I was in a t34 and there was 4 Porsche Tigers wiping out the team and slowly advancing on our teams spawn
They were so cool I wish I had the footage of the battle watching them just slowly and seemingly calmly watching each other’s backs and crushing the opposition

What I would like is the ability to test drive any vehicle You want either being researched or not. They already give us the option for Premium vehicles or the next vehicle you are researching in a Tech tree.

You should play the Tortoise! Nobody plays it anymore and its one of my favorite tanks, its not the greatest but in my personal experience ive done very well in it.
