    The real money in this video starts at 11.30. The suggested drill is amazing and the way it makes the club head line up appears to be what I have been missing in compressing the ball with my irons. There is consistency across all his videos which adds confidence in his instruction.

    Hi, I've been watching this channel for a couple of weeks now and I just wanted to say thank you! This is because I gave up on trying to bow my left wrist a long time ago because I just couldn't do it. At one point I almost ruined my left wrist that way. But now, you've finally explained why I shouldn't bow it so thank you thank you thank you! BTW, pushing down on the club handle is genius. When the handle comes up I can hit the most amazing slices and shanks which is no fun at all. Actively holding it down solves that puzzle. Loving the channel and oh, did I say thank you! :)

    Been watching all your videos since I found your broom video. Tried to swing inside out as per the usual teaching without any success. After watching your teachings drew the ball and hit more greens than ever this morning. Your teachings are radically different but make sense and work in practice. Would be good to see your insight on how not to hit at the ball but let club swing - this is my problem. Keep it coming Stu.

    Fantastic advice of how your left hand tracks, the missing piece for me was getting your left hand going forward then you pull down ad you move the handle back under your body.

    Perfect 👌. So it seems that the journey of the hands from the top of the backswing down to impact is quite a rollercoaster 😂 you go out to the ball and back in with pressure down to the toes…
    But to be straighten it up the left leg has to go up, isn’t it?

  • @overbrookstudio5246

    "The bowing of the left wrist has been a biggy." I'll say - since I looked at Hogan's book and the "supination" of the left wrist drawings decades ago. So this video seemed at first to me to be golf heresy until I tried swinging a club this way in my backyard. Lightning strike! I think this is the golf panacea I've been missing all these years, fighting a too fast closing clubface. Thank you, can't wait to try it out. Also, keeping pressure this way feels much stronger - much more solid grip.

    Great explanation of feel over real Stuart. If you look at your wrist position after you snap a towel, guess what it's cupped !! Try to snap it with your wrist bowed - you can't and maybe neither can the pro's it just looks like they do. Really enjoying this coaching 👍 Cheers Andy

    The cupping of the left wrist at impact is starting to resonate…… my thought in achieving this is to push down thinking low hands at impact… some of the
    Strikes I’ve achieved with this thought have been career best😂……. But importantly the low hands has resulted in the cupped left wrist as you describe…… it still needs a lot of reps to work it in but it’s an exciting development so kudos to you 👏

    Another really interesting video Stuart, thanks. My understanding is that Jon Rahm (and perhaps all tour pros?) have a bowed wrist at impact - clearly they are super talented and athletic, but curious why the worlds best don’t seem to follow your cupped left wrist approach?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  9 місяців тому +1

      Thanks Don! The reality is, tour pro’s are not trying to cup their left wrists, amateur golfers are… bow is consequential and not trained. There are so many reasons why this is not taught; I don’t disagree with bowed left wrists at impact, it’s simply a propensity of many ingredients the wrist ends up that way rather than worked on. Hope that makes sense. Best wishes Stu 😊

    Another great video! Quick question regarding the "handle forward" part (12:00) - that's just a swing feel, correct? (12:04 - it looks like the handle actually just swings down in front of your knees rather than outward and around)

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  9 місяців тому +2

      Hey Meeks - as explained in the video, I am absolutely pulling in the direction described (towards the ball line) to offset the overwhelming downward motion of the golf swing from the top. I used to always draw the ball, but tried to incorporate the bowed wrist teachings into my swing which changed my ball flight to either a weak fade at best, to a push or slice at worst, dragging the clubhead through whilst desperately trying to keep the face from ballooning open at impact.
    Used the cupped lead wrist at the range in the last week and bingo, my draw is back, a straighter flight is back and increased speed is back. This also fixed the chicken wing as I feel the weight of the club head now swinging on an arc and exiting left enabling a proper club release. Once you get a key part of the swing correct, other faults (compensations) also disappear. It makes complete sense.
    The one question I can't get my head around is how Bryson DeChambeau (I know he's a huge outlier amongst pros) sets up with that high handle and takes the wrist cup out of his lead hand, it just goes against everything you've taught and I've found to be true. Any idea?

    Most of what you teach is natural for me but I have been told not to do it. Thus my game has deteriorated until I execute exactly as you explain. I have a strong desire to know why what you say works but for now, I try to execute as you explain and I might add with outstanding results unless I try to overanalyze everything. One point I find difficult to understand is why you want the left wrist flat at the top of the backswing, and then return it to the setup position in transition? Why not just leave the left wrist cupped throughout the whole swing? I'm now a big fan of your teachings just want to understand.

    I have a question Coach , about having a week grip and using the bowed wrist. It makes sense that you can’t use the opposite forces on the handle with a bowed wrist, but is it possible that you can still maintain the bowed rest right as you come down from the top of your backswing and through contact to still maintain that force on the handle?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching

    Hi Stuart. Do you really swing the club out as far as the ball to target line as it looks in your pulling the golf club video? The reason for asking is because it doesn't look like you swing that far out when watching your swing at normal speed.

      Great answer. It influences more input of pressure on the handle to NOT make it swing right which will make you and the club move faster. Hope that makes sense.

      I’m thinking this is similar to the “malaska’ move. Something also confuses me but your explanation is clearer. More study required on my end …. But after the fed ex.

    Is this a pulling sensation with the lead arm?

    Better be careful! "They" aren't going to let you get away with this! All joking aside, love the content and how you're presenting the golf swing.

    I think I'll just gracefully pack in (no disrespect Stu) this is getting beyond me (to much for my old brain to process)and certainly trying to implement ...feel like I need to be a contortionist....

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  9 місяців тому

      Ron, apologies it’s made you feel that way. This is as authentic of how we need to move as it gets. The only contortion would be inside out and flat left wrist. Where in this sequence do you feel contortion?

    I feel like you want me to starting speaking fluent Chinese.... this is a paradigm shift ... a swap in theory of swing mechanics... I'm 56 and i don't feel i would have enough time to devote to having success with this concept... maybe this swing is easier on the body eventually but my learning curve is not hahaha... maybe i don't have enough rotation in my swing... idk but you made it look so so easy even with one hand and i suddenly turned into Charles Barkley (looking like an octopus falling out of a tree)

      Hey Les - grip the club right, start swinging a broom (see my video series) and you’ll find it won’t as daunting as you might feel. I can assure you, power and consistency are waiting for you around the corner 😊Best wishes Stu

    I love your videos but the only issue is you show a lot of exercises with machines. What about those of us that don't have access to a gym. If you could give us an alternative that would be great.

      Big Mike - thanks so much for the feedback and I will endeavour to do exactly as requested my friend. Hope you’re well and thank you for the valued feedback. Best wishes Stu 😊

    I think they call this the Malaska Move.

      Haha 😂- wouldn’t know Robert, don’t know anything bout Malaska. Nobody owns this move; physics and biology are the gate keepers. 😊

    Many, many years of spraying the golf ball by trying to make a swing inside out, it’s really hard to make the changes you suggest. Since there is only approximately 1/4 of a second from transition to impact, I find it impossible to pull the handle out and then down. Is that just a feel? Watching your demonstrations have me convinced these are changes I’d like to make.
    Thanks

      Many thanks for the question! Do a few swings slowly and trace the move hitting a ball. It absolutely is the feel applied to make the club travel like this. Please please watch my broom videos it will help a lot! Best wishes Stu 😊
