  • In this video I talk about the details that need to be understood about the right arm. Danny Maude and Pete Cowen have spoken about the right arm, but today I will share my thoughts on this highly influential component of the golf swing.
    If you can master the understanding of the right arm you will excel at golf; the engine room of the golf swing comes from the right side of the body, using this efficiently will lower your score, hit the ball further but not only that, improve your all important consistency.
    Let me help you play better golf, hope you enjoy!

    Stuart the fact that you have the strength of character and the conviction and the belief in your coaching to question the likes of Pete Cowen and Danny Maude is something that appeals to me personally,very strongly,dont ever change this approach please.Also another great bit of knowledge delivered to us again.Thanks stuart.Peter from wales.

      Hi Peter, thank you very much for the words of encouragement. The sooner golfers appreciate this game is more logical, and simply a box ticking exercise to improve, the better the game will be for all. Need to put to bed the mystery and get the fun back in our lives, rather than five hours of misery. If I upset a few along the way (which I am sure PC and DM wont be in the slightest) then thats all good with me. Thanks my friend, any questions please let me know. Best wishes Stu 😊

    Bottom line you have proven the golf swing is dynamic and not a bunch of static positions… hence the reason you have to pull the club down for that whipping action …all back to cause and effect… thanks for keeping it real 😅😅

    Stuart, another excellent video on why the grip is so important. You just solved my recent problem of slicing my irons, it’s the orientation of my right (trail) hand on the club. I did a few slow swings with different right hand orientations and was pleasantly surprised how the club face opened and closed at impact. This knowledge and change got me hitting much better strikes like I used to do. It’s amazing how your grip will change if you’re not, you won’t know it and screw up your strike. It’s similar to your aim changing if you’re not carefully and your shots going way offline. This taught me that you have to be vigilant in your setup and make sure it’s always correct. Thanks for the education. Cheers.

    Kapow! And there it is. I could not work out why, every once in a while the bloody ball would go right after drawing everything all day. And there it is in the right hand grip. I have been really focusing on the left hand and not giving much thought to the right hand, so sometimes I guess it would go to a more neutral position which would get the club face open at impact. Thanks Stuart, awesome content.

    I found your site by accident...But, an informative one!!...I like the concept of the slinging action on the way down in the delivery of the club rather than cocking the wrists on the way up or at the top of the backswing...Makes a tremendous amount of logical sense...Some of which is lacking in golf instruction, LOL....

    Hi Stuart this is by far the best golf coaching on you tube a massive thanks.i get your grip coaching ,I just have one question about the last 3 fingers of the left hand.why does a gap appear when swinging the club at the top of the back swing.or is this normal .

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  7 місяців тому +2

      Thank you for the humbling feedback, really grateful. There could be a few reasons; lack of grip pressure with your right hand at the top (seems obvious, but people get carried away with a light grip pressure sometimes) - Your leg action/hip turn is short, causing arms to over run and make the hands come of the golf club, or your right arm is too deep which could be due to, too much spine angle in your backswing. Work through those and you might find the answer. Hope that helps my friend, best wishes Stu 😊

    Great video again/ what about with driver? Your video on unloading it earlier before the ball really helped so would loading the driver early help with unloading it earlier?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  7 місяців тому

      Loading the driver is at the same time as the iron, the load time will be a little shorter than an iron, but the radius is bigger with the driver, so even though the pull phase is shorter it’s the driver, the swinging phase will create greater speed. Hope that makes sense? Best wishes Stu

    I think the problem with right hand only swings is that your left hand is missing and you cannot hold the club correctly in your fingers. Don‘t you need to put something on your grip to hold it correctly then? You‘re a pro but as an amateur the one handed grip is a real mess to get it right. Does that make sense? Keep up the great content! Thank you!

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi there… pop your left hand under your right elbow to connect yourself if you’d like to get a closer simulation of a two hands on golf club swing. It’s only a mess because most people don’t know how to hold the golf club properly in my honest opinion, which is exactly why you feel its a mess. If you learnt how to hold and then apply, I promise you you’d be in a better place. Hope that helps, and many thanks for the kind words. Best wishes Stu
