    Enjoyed the in depth examples of setup. I discovered a few years back that grip was the most important component of a golf swing followed by proper set up. Once I found my grip and set up, my swing naturally changed and my golf game improved dramatically. Thanks for confirming my discovery. Cheers.

    Pretty much spot on - Gears 3D of tour players validates a lot of your teachings - only exception is the sternum analogy - at impact sternum is all in line with the ball but behind the low point of the arc - thus the great separator on tour is the ability to elongate the 3D flat spot, some call it the late hit, covering the ball, or trail side strike, either way that's why they are pros and we are not.

      Hey Mitchy - thanks for sharing your thoughts. Comparing “why” amateurs and pros are different is laughable in my opinion. Taking your players who are taught by failed players, who usually play through teaching rather better because of it, makes the “mean” averages of why they’re good utterly floored in my honest opinion. I will do a video on this to prove exactly that. Love the comment though and hugely appreciated my friend 😊Best wishes Stu

    Trying this as I type. (Have a golf sim in the garage, just using 8 iron for now.) Was hitting long enough before but pulled left most shots. This setup and your grip have givin me alot more straight shots. Thel eft ones are not as far left and would be playable. Sticking with this...thanks

      Hang in there John - we can making you functional from the left side of the golf course, nothing to be gained from the right, nothing! 😊🙌

      @@GoodGolfCoaching When hitting my longer 8 iron, carry gets up in the 160's but left, not off the planet left but left. Is that ok?

    Well conceived and presented. Always thought that schools suggesting models representing “tour averages” for set up or swing positions was rather distorted data. In fact ,it created odd standards that often compromise learning and improvement. Swing like Rory or Tiger stuff is even worse because of ability, years of practice and inherent skill sets. Seems your approach is supported for intent and all levels with some compromise for swing speeds and perhaps mobility-all the while having solid fundamentals.

    Hey Stuart love the content! I would like to see a camera angle facing your chest in your videos. Most of your shots are shown from the back but I’d like to see your front leg and arms through impact.

    The 90 degree angle - shaft to lower back - is interesting.
    The most pros have it I see, but what about Kyle Birkshire (longhitter) he stands straighter up - he hits longer but less control I assume... 🤔

      There’s a huge difference between long drivers and golfers. They are holding a club but a very different discipline! 😊

    Can you please explain the proper shaft lean at set up (for irons, woods, driver), since this has a huge impact. And how to verify it, at what stage. Because when you tilt your spine, your perspective on the position of the shaft and the club head changes.

    • @GoodGolfCoaching

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  Рік тому

      Yes Steve - I cover where the handle should be at address from face on, with a wedge, 7iron and driver. Have you seen it?

    • @stevenewtons7873
      @stevenewtons7873 Рік тому

      @@GoodGolfCoaching Yes, but it seems it is not so straightforward and is more complex than what you show. For example, I see some good players using the 7i with almost no shaft lean. Others use more. In my experience, less shaft lean seemed to produce more powerful shots. It depends probably partly on the tilt of your spine. May be also the swing speed is a factor. Concernant delofting for compression (not ball height), should it be done only at impact?
