sounds like skill up didnt find a single prepper stash, also, does he know about force spawning predators with bait? 10 minutes to find a bear? you can force spawn 10 bears in 2 minutes and kill with bow and arrow and survivalist harvest perk and get 4x pelts per bear. thats like 1000 dollar per minute, minimum.
Money was never a problem for me, I got probably 70% of the things you could get by only grinding hunting occasionally for a few hours throughout the game.
Mike Steve I would take the archer girl, Jess I think her name is, Order her to kill an animal and she’d clean headshot it, I’d skin it, get bait, throw it, kill the predator and rinse repeat got carried away and when I went to sell my loot I ended up making like over $12000
Yah he says he didn’t do a lot of side content, so of course if you’re mainlining the main story, not doing side content and not exploring, you’re not going to have a ton of money. If you engage with the game’s content in even a minimal way you’ll end up with plenty of money and I’ve played through a couple times and ended each game with more money than I had things to spend it on.
Honestly, Gman and skillup are the only reviewers I care to hear... That ACG guy always sounds like he took a couple of hits before he starts talking lol
Your reviews are FANTASTIC. I love long reviews like what creators like you, ACG, and Joseph Anderson do on your channels, and I'm consistently impressed by how much insight and personality you bring to your writing.
@@hurfnurf2487 lmao wth his reviews are great don't knock someone just because they like something you don't you're definitely not mature enough to understand that though but I assume you're not ready for even that conversation yet
You didn't even mention how you can find silver bars within the game world, or the $600-$1000 for completing an outpost without setting off an alarm/or completing it completely undetected. You also don't get ammo from walking over their corpses, it's their weapons. To gain more ammunition, you loot their bodies instead of simply taking the ammo from the weapon.
Great review, and I agree with almost everything you said apart from the in game money issue. There is an easy way to earn cash: you need to unlock 3 of the specialists - Boomer, Jess, and any one other. This unlocks the leadership perk to let you have 2 companions at once. You'll also want the Harvest Master perk, which doubles the number of skins that drop from kills. Go to any hunting area, Boomer will automatically tag animals in the vicinity, then have Jess kill them. She drops most animals in one or 2 shots, and because she uses a bow, you'll get double the skins, which gets doubled again with the Harvest Master perk. So basically you'll get 4 skins from every kill and because she rarely misses, you'll be killing animals pretty quickly. Load up on skins and sell them at the nearest store and enjoy your riches!
Odd. I looted the field on every body and had more ammo and resource than I could use. It was full 100 percent of the time. I refilled ammo at the Store maybe once or twice just to do it, in the entire game. A few of the companions like Boomer also pick up ammo.
Yeah I was pretty much in the same boat. Never had a problem with ammo other than the very beginning of the game when you should rightfully feel a bit more vulnerable.
@@rohithkumarsp there’s only three total choices you can make one ends the game in the first two level and the other two decisions you make are in the end of the game but one ending sucks and it isn’t even canon so it doesn’t matter that much but I get why your upset but new game plus is a good way to replay the game and you can do the second ending that you didn’t initially do on your new game plus play through that way you’ve done both
@@grantgarrett9239 i don't care if there's 2 or 200, it's pretty anti-consumer of Ubisoft to put out a Ubisoft support page on how to delete the fucking save to start a new game than simply fucking adding an save slot that takes 10 mins to code in
Great review Skill Up! Hopefully you can keep doing this format so that you can cover more games. N only do a proper "Skill Up review" for something that you really love.
A more chilled review today to make sure you know whether or not this is a day one purchase (spoiler: it is!) If you'd like to support the work I do, you can become a Patron ( www.patreon.com/skillupyt ) or click the 'Sponsor' button next to 'Subscribe'. Thanks and see you all soon :)
Thanks for your “brief” review, SkillUp. I really appreciate you giving your two cents before the game launches. I do trust your opinion and thus this helps me make an educated decision on it. Consider it sold. Take care.
I agree with you on most things except the grinding. In previous games it was way to easy to get all the weapons. Now I have to put some effort in. There are also perks that give you double the amount of hide, thus increasing your income by 100% and killing a bear doesn’t take more than 1 minute.
Interesting that Skill Up felt the need to warn people about the jokes about Conservatives, conservatives don't usually get mad at jokes about themselves, it's the other side that does that.
I'm conservative leaning and the game didn't bother me. Except when I accidentally picked up a gun I didn't mean to. I enjoyed it actually. Didn't have a money issue either.
You have to do the Prepper Stash side missions....you get tons of ammo, loot, weapons, perk points, and a couple thousand dollars at each stash point. In fact, I had more money than I could spend. Once you invest in the blow torch (5 perk points), you can open a safe at every point of interest in the game which contains $250.
Thanks again skillup, for your hard work and your dedication to the genre. Loving MHW right about now, picked it up because of your review and followed my recommendation of the game with recommendation of your review with many of my friends. -That one commenter that wrote paragraphs on how cool you were before Destiny 2
If you didn’t have enough money then you weren’t playing the game right. Side missions is how you make that extra cash. If you liberate a region and then do all the side missions you get even more money. If you don’t set any alarms off and or are undetected at outposts then you get more money. Honestly, you never have to worry about paying to win so long as you aren’t lazy and just play the game.
I personally loved Ghost Recon Wildlands. But that is probably because I couldn't give less of a *&@# about Story in that game. I played it with two friends in coop and it was the best thing ever. Planing out how to most effectively take down a target. We imposed our own restrictions on ourselves. We chose one weapon type each. So I had the exclusive rights to sniper rifles, one of my friends was the SMG close quarter guy and another chose the Assault Rifle as his weapon of choice. This basically assigned roles. I was the scout and focused on maxing the drone and its scouting capabilities and often parachuted on a hill or a large rock somewhere and started scouting while my two companions made their way silently closer and before they entered the compound there was intense communication on voice coms planing and adjusting the plan on the fly. I was sniping targets from far away and providing support and the guys went in and delt with targets I couldn't see from my vantage points. I often had to change my position when they progressed through the enemy compound to be able to continue to provide support. Oh, and I forgot to mention. We played every single mission where it was possible as a steath mission and avoiding detection for as long as humanly possible. It was glorious. We took the sandbox the game provided and made it our own. I vividly remember one takedown: I was camped outside the window of a "boss room" where the boss and two other guys were playing cards. My two team mates made their way stealthily outside the door to the boss room. We started the countdown 3 - 2 - 1 - GO! One of my friends threw in a flash bang and charged in. I sniped one of the goons in the head, one of my teammates killed the other and our third companion grabbed the boss and pressed a knife to his throat. The whole thing took a split second and it felt bloody awesome. It wasn't a cinematic. We did that on our own with coordination and planing and we felt like the real SEALs or something. There are very few games that allow you to do things like that. In most games action like this is reserved for cinematics.
ODANNYonPCProudly made in Montreal!Like so many good games. It’s My hometown but I guess it’s obvious.Yes we speak French and love poutine and no it’s not Toronto we’re an European/American city and we hate Trump and guns😜.Can’t wait for the next Tomb Raider made in Montreal!
Man, I love your content. The level of polish, thought and poignancy that you put into your videos is simply without peer, even in this shorter format. I go back and watch your NieR: Automata review once a week. Please never stop!
That's what happens when a big developer/publisher is out in the stock market. Sure they have piles of money to spend on the development but the investors also expect a huge return... and you can probably guess the rest.
connothecowboy every single large publisher is basically forced to put microtransactions in their games. At least Ubisoft did it in a way that’s very non-aggressive.
I mean if you want to really get into any kind of depth most reviews are gonna be 20-40 minutes long, those little 3 minute videos that Game Sites put out basically tell you nothing apart from things you already know and a review score at the end.
Check out Joseph Anderson if you want some really amazing long-form reviews/critiques/analysis videos on games like the Dark Souls Series, Fallout 4, Prey, Subnautica, he does a variety and he's incredible, my favourite UA-camr by far.
+AndyBagel I realize that was not directed at me, but I thank you anyway, sir. I love long form reviews, and I'll be checking him out. A 3 to 5 minute quickie never provides enough information for me. I love a good in-depth review with some intelligence, especially when I'm considering a full-price title like this one.
It's cool, and it was directed at you. His Dark Souls/Bloodborne Videos and his Fallout 4 review are favourites but all of his videos are great so watch them all :P
I just wanted clear some things up about the microtransactions. The currency you buy can only be spent on Prestige skins for weapons, special skinned weapon variants (not entirely new weapons, they're the same), variants of vehicles, and character clothing. They cannot buy attachments or ammo. This means people cannot get better guns by simply spending more money. That just isnt true. It is all cosmetic based. Secondly, SkillUp didn't mention that (although sparcely) you can actually find the microtransaction currency in the world. It's hidden in safes in compounds and other unique areas. Therefore, you can use the silver bars you find in-game to buy skins and whatnot, and save the normal in game currency for the things you really want still. I'm not saying microtransactions are okay, but they really aren't that bad in this game in the slightest.
Did you feel any pressure at all from Ubisoft to release this review just before release? If you had disliked the game would you have still put out the review? Just curious!
Or someone is allowed to like a game from a company that you don't like without being paid off? But I get it, if you hate it, everyone has to hate it or they're just shills
Skill Up not really because everyone complains about microtransactions, its just part of games nowadays, also, compared to other games, the microtransactions in this game is nothing, some games have things locked behind microtransactions
Glad you uploaded so early (was on the fence with this game), while I might not always agree with your views you are hands down (next to acg) the most objective reviewer out there on UA-cam. Moving from strength to strength with your channel 👌👍.
I'm getting really frustrated with all this live-service shit in every game nowadays. It's good to hear this game at least has a pretty solid foundation going forward, but I'd like to be able to buy a complete game, y'know? Might pick this one up.
First I just want to say I really appreciate the quality & intellectual views of your video's. This is another great review, where I am a bit puzzled is by your comments on AC Origins. I personally love Origins and thought it took the franchise in a great direction. I would really like it if you put out a full reveiw of AC Origins and explain yourself Skill Up! In all seriousness I am very interested to hear your breakdown of the game, as of up to now I have totally agreed with all your views of well, everything.
A Skillup review under 30 minutes?? GAAASP Jk dude, been looking forward to this review for a while now. Gonna sit down with some pasta and chill watching this.
try not to get pasta sauce over whatever device you're watching this on. While pasta sauce does clean up easily enough, it is after all rather messy. Eat with a bib if you really have to.
He looks way too young to be a Ralph, I agree. I'm assuming he's around my age, late 20's to early 30's, and I don't know anybody named Ralph in Australia other than him.
Great game. Just bought it on sale for $9 and can't stop playing it. I remember when the game came out it got a lot of flak for sticking too closely to the typical FC formula, which is why I stayed away until now. The thing I forgot is just how fun that FC sandbox gameplay is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Uhg, a video game that costs money to pay for raising development costs that people refuse to believe exists because they are entitled and want everything handed to then for free and just want to stay in their mom’s basements eating tendies instead of getting a job and earning money
Psyf3rn there are loads of games of similar quality that sells without chucking in microtransactions to balance out development costs. Saying that mtx is used to cover development costs is just mistaken
Psyf3rn do some research, profit margins for AAA have never been better and their profit is rising way faster than development costs. Please don’t shill for corporations that are killing games.
Psyf3rn it's been debunked that development cost is rising. Infact in shareholder meetings where they have to by law to tell the truth have stated that dev costs have gone down over the past 5 plus years. Instead you believing pr spin lies do some actual research.
Dude you're so good at this review thing, seriously. Who woulda thought in the post-Division days we'd be getting one of the best review channels on UA-cam!
I came here from Gaymen Laming. I can't believe I got the notification for the microtransactions review from Laymen and not yours. I was surprised when you said you had a review up.
I'm so glad that they made abandoning a helicopter a 'hold the button to exit' action. In GTA V I accidentally hit the 'jump out of vehicle' button from a plane without a parachute more times than I care for.
I completely agree with what Skill Up had to say in this review but I would like to elaborate on my personal experience playing this great game: While in the first 2-3 hours of the game I felt a shortage of money, that feeling faded away pretty quickly and cash started flowing, I do have to state that I played on PC where it's much easier to loot the corpses since you don't have to hold the button to loot and using a mouse makes it easier to avoid picking up weapons. Everytime you clear an outpost undetected you get a bonus of 1000 dollars in addition to the amount you get for clearing the outpost, Animals are very common and using a shotgun (I used a spas 12) can down almost every animal in 1-2 shots except bears which go down in 3-4 shots, so hunting animals is a great way to make money, If you liberated a region (killed the regional boss) you get a pretty nice amount of bonus cash for every side mission you beat in that region, and prepper stashes have a pretty big amount of money (for the amount of work that you put in) waiting at the end in addition to skill points. Overall I didn't really feel a shortage of money other than in the first 2 hours, I actually had more money than I needed and I found myself buying guns I didn't even use and I didn't regret it. And in regards to ammo, never in the entire game I had to purchase ammo, I always had 100+ bullets with my assault rifle, maybe it's because I went for single shot headshots to conserve ammo but it paid off at the end. Sorry for the long comment btw
What's the difference between a youtube sponsor and Patreon? Does one of them pay more from subscriptions? I'm assuming both websites take a small percentage...
@Psyf3rn Well if enough guys like him buys a used copy or waits 2 years for a 75% sale it will be something a corporation has to notice or get fucked. People not buying AC:Syndicate led to the development of AC:Origins.
ForcePF they’re very non-aggressive completely optional microtransactions, I’m not sure what you’re trying to punish them for when they’re the only large publisher not shoving microtransactions down your throat. I applaud Ubisoft because microtransactions are inevitable now. If you’re a publicly traded gaming publisher then you’re basically forced to put microtransactions in your games. This is their way of saying “here’s your microtransactions” to their investors while keeping them out of the gamers throats.
I love the fact that fc5 has only like 12 outposts total like they finally realized quality of quantity and i mean they are still a chore to do all of them they are still the best outpost design in the entire series
After watching a few reviews I was considering picking this game up, which is saying something since I'm not a fan of Ubisoft open world games. But after watching your review I'm really excited to play this game which is a feeling I havn't felt about a AAA game in a long time.
Actually thought ACG's was more positive than this one, minus all the ai issues. I feel like Skill Up focused more on going in depth into the gross micro transaction stuff, which gave me a lot better idea of what I'm gonna be up against since that was really my main deterrent. Also I've just wanted to play a big open world game set in the midwest since I was like 10 so it might have to be a buy solely for kid me. Appreciate the suggestion tho fam
Yeah, I am gonna buy this too, regardless of the review. Ive had my mind made up, and I trust my gut, also I dont mind grinding out hunting animals for guns a vehicles.
It’s a good game, but it’s not for everyone. If you enjoy playing games that give you everything on day 1 and can be completed in 6 hours it’s not for you. For ppl who enjoy game progression, exploring, experimenting with different combat styles, actually trying to be stealthy and not get caught, then you’ll love this game. The hunting and fishing alone plus the perks was enough to get me excited about this. Try not to buy all perks at once except for the basic ones. It’s fun to focus on your most recent perk and discover everything that changes as a result of the perk. This game will undoubtedly be better with your 2nd character with AI set to hard and interface turned to ALL OFF. This game has so much potential, but it’s up to your skills and strategy to make everything look flawless. Do not get into the habit of run and gun it will ruin this game faster than anything.
I loved wildlands. The ability to tackle the mission however i please was cool and the game looked amazing and custom character, hell yea. But as you said, it was repetitive, story wasn't as good and not many side activities. Still one of my favorites though. That aside, you have given me a reason to get far cry 5, and i told myself to wait till pay day. Seeing how i don't work in friday, well why not right? Nice job!
4 years later but yeah, I totally agree. Wildlands was not perfect by any means but I personally enjoyed the open world aspect of it. Wanna clear rooms of the camp one by one? Order a loud assault with rebel help? Slowly take out enemies from afar one by one? How about engage the base with an attack helicopter? The ways to complete the missions were so plentiful and it was fun creating your own scenarios.
Since Far cry 3 you have to loot corpses to get money and items that you can later sell and there's always been this "intrusion" of the enemy's weapon. Also you have to buy ammo at the store, you can buy everything with a 20% discount or for a particular weapon without discount. Another way to get money was with the colectibles, all the loot boxes you find give you a ok amount of cash and you do have all the side quests. So in the end there's always been this struggle to make money and well to spend it between weapons, ammo, customizations and maps. I'm pointing that just to say that you can make money and money is not a big problem unless they totally changed the economy of the game. Thank you for this early review, keep up the good work. Cheers
On the micro-transaction front: I feel this is the best way to do it if a developer does it at all. 1. Anything picked up in the world is now unlocked to pick up at the store for free, including guns. Pick everything up even if you drop it immediately to pick your gun back up. 2. There are spots (close to a fast travel point) that I can make $4k in 5 minutes through hunting. I would prefer if micro-transactions didn't exist obviously, but I appreciate the lack of loot box randomness in Far Cry. I also feel like my time is valued, in that I can make a ton of money relatively quickly through gameplay (hunting).
Stfu, get outta here if you don’t want to watch a 20 min vid, like it literally says the time on the thumbnail before you click on it so that means you commented this just to start shit
Very good review as always, you helped me decide. I'm not a Far Cry player but I'll get this one. Now with the microtransaction portion of the game, from the way you described it, is just fine with me because it's more realistic that way. I mean if I have to search someones body to get a few dollars, then that seems pretty common in a small town I wouldn't hundreds of dollars to be in everyone's pocket. Having to buy ammo? That's pretty realistic also. Hunting to get paid? Realistic again. Um working for your money? Ummm yeah lol. I personally think that in this time many have gotten used to having their hand held, which in turn has widened the gap between grinders (people who don't mind working a little harder or at hard core level to earn what is in the game) and non-grinders (people who want it a little bit easier or just down right easy in the work that needs to be done to earn what's in game), not to for get the balanced person, no need to describe that. But then again this is a video game. But (said in a southern goofy voice) "I rather like realism". I mean in the pass you were either hard core and figured everyting out and if the game was too big you bought a $10 to $20 strategy guide (WOW anyone lol), now you can just watch a youtube video or have everything handed to you in game and that's the new common. I'm more of the figure it out myself type and if I need help I ask for help in game if it's multiplayer which is rare. But guess what? I'm not everyone and everyone is not me, everyone has their own way of thinking/opinion, so cheers to diversity and different ways of seeing things :) Thank you for the video man I really like your stuff, keep it coming.
Techkey1 same thoughts here. I don't mind this type of grind. At least we can buy what we want, when we want, and no goddamn lootbox. I buy strategy guides for games I like as collector's item. But talk about back in the day before youtube/internet... oh boy, showing this gamer's age here, lol!
regarding the in-game money part of the video: you're mentioning how you're constantly having to buy ammo at shops, and therefore not able to buy many other 'things' (guns, clothes, vehicles) - i've played maybe a total of 10-15 hours at this point, and i've spent in-game money on ammo maybe 10-15 times at most. there are ammo caches all over the open world, at outposts, even sometimes in the prepper stashes which should be a top priority for anybody playing this game. the prepper stashes have been my favorite part of the game. having little puzzles to solve to open an entrance to someone's fully stocked bunker or garage, and getting loads of money, perk points, weapons, vehicles, ammo, and collectibles.
You should expand your channel from just reviews to more video game topic video essays. Your reviews are already in line with what a video essay is and it be really refreshing to get that approach with your level of passion and knowledge on other topics related to games
Citizen of kekistan Ubusoft could've labeled them as DLC and no one would've gave a fuck. They instead become up front with it and they still get flak. smh can't please everyone
pardon can you say that popoganda about a 60 dollar game thats single player that needs me to pay pay pay pay ...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay...pay pay pay how about FUCK YOU legara ......
chronoss chiron It's OPTIONAL dumbass at least watch the video. It's the same as r6siege where everything is purchasable, but premium currency is there to purchase it faster. If you can't even invest time for an enjoyable game then don't play at all, NO ONE would care.
Can just have games that will stop implenmenting microtransactions/these absolutely ridiculous predetory practices not gonna touch anymore game with such bullshit inside them
maximilian sterling what predatory practices? Every large publicly traded publisher is forced to put microtransactions in their games by investors. At least Ubisoft did it in a way that’s non-aggressive, not sure what you find “predatory” about it. Battlefront 2 is predatory, GTA online is predator, Far Cry 5 is not lol
Absolutely fantastic review! Your videos are always really informative and helpful and in no way talking around or generalizing things. I love it! I'd go to you over IGN anyday lol Keep up!
Hello, Short snappy comment today, I got to watch another SkillIup video today, takes me a few minutes to put together my big comment and I don't have that kind of time because I'm currently in the middle of a WoW raid and I want to let you know right now whether it's worth watching this video so that's what I'm going to do. Now, SkillIUp has been struggling for a while now to try and get his video intro's to a shorter length then a feature film and so he's revitalised it with a new setup. Point is, I'd buy this man a short snappy stubby this time, but a stubby none the less. :)
Hey man thank you for the quality review, thank you for not bullshitting or beating around the bush about the microtransactions. I will not be buying this game even though I really really want to, the gameplay loops of Far Cry 3 to unlock those special signature weapons were lovely, such a shame to see that gone. Sad. Much sad. Miss that bushman and Shredder.
Its amazing how your channel has evolved over time. So glad you're doing reviews now, since they are among the best om youtube. Keep up the good work :)
On the fence with this one. ACG rated it as "Wait for Sale", and you call it a near perfect experience? Now, I know where you're coming form, namely from an opinion focused on narrative, while ACG tries to weigh "graphics, sound, gameplay" quite equally. I just find it weird, that Karak had quite a few negative words for graphics (fps, pop-ins and the like), and nagging gameplay (spawning) issues, which you don't even touch.
his “fun” aspect wasn’t hindered by it. ACG is a far more technical reviewer, focusing on the hardware and tech used in the game. He isn’t necessarily talking about how it impacted HIS enjoyment, but rather how it affects the game’s overall quality. you can play a game that has silly bugs and graphical hiccups and still have a good time, like enjoying a bad movie. SkillUp focuses on how the game affects HIS enjoyment, whilst touching on how quality the game is. Take his FF15 review. The game has glaring problems yet he still had a lot of fun and recommends the experience to people.
No doubt about that, and hence why I wrote the " I know where you're coming from" part. Still, if ACG, who values strong narrative and world building just as much, cares to point out the spawning issue to name but one, shows that it has a detrimental effect on overall gameplay. I was just wondering, whether it's just a nagging issue or one of those at first sight non-issues that slowly build up to a point where they annoy you so much that you cannot enjoy the game anymore.
phl0w I would put it this way, if you love far cry then you’ll absolutely love this game because it’s more and better far cry. If you didn’t like Far cry to begin with, then this game is doing nothing to change your mind.
phl0w things like spawning issues and pop in are things that are going to be fixed with patches. You should focus more on the core game and not the things that can be easily fixed
Great review. I was especially happy to be informed about the portrayal of politics and the resource management with regards to money and ammo. Definitely two negatives, but everything else about this game looks great. I'll probably pick this up if a friend of mine decides to do so. I think I'll share this review with him. Keep up the great work 👍
As for the “not enough money” thing, prepper stashes. Just find prepper stashes and you’re golden for the most part. Also, if you do play co-op, you can hit that same prepper stash in your world AND your friend’s world. So, around $1800-$3000 per stash
You can loot by tapping the button and you won't swap weapons by accident because you need to hold the button down to do that - so you can run around spamming the button to loot money
Another awesome video. Loved your NieR analysis and the EA lootbox one. You detailed every aspect of Far Cry 5, and because of It i already made my mind: not gonna buy it. Thanks for another awesome video and for this analysis. You and ACG are awesome reviewers.
I appreciate the short review, but the truth is I'd have gladly neglected all the things I have to do and watched it even if it was an hour long. There's such a quality to your reviews and I've appreciated every one I've seen. I was going to buy this game anyway but now I can do so with confidence. Thank you!
i didn't even realize there were microtransactions in the game until hours upon hours in, but i'm an insane person and i find absolutely every "prepper cache" and each one of those things has 3 perk point magazines and a ton of cash in them, also each fast travel location has silver bars hidden somewhere you just have to look for the stuff....and finding the prepper caches is actually pretty fun, most of them are like little dungeon puzzles.
I didn't even know microtransactions were in the game until this video. I saw that items were for sale for in-game cash and silver bars, but I found some bars in the game early on and just assumed that's how you acquired them. I never bothered to click on the "silver bars" tab in the shops.
"We'll come back to that point btw" - Ralph every second point
but is it his DESTINY to get back to that point?
ahahahaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
sounds like skill up didnt find a single prepper stash, also, does he know about force spawning predators with bait? 10 minutes to find a bear? you can force spawn 10 bears in 2 minutes and kill with bow and arrow and survivalist harvest perk and get 4x pelts per bear. thats like 1000 dollar per minute, minimum.
I NEVER EVEN THOUGHT OF THAT. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck lol
I'm sorry. That' sounds awful.
Exactly! The game even tells you that if you kill an animal with an arrow you get double loot
Your "brief" review is still longer than most other reviews, my dude. Good video though!
Aussies unite!!! (I'm American, just trying to look cool)
Fast-Forward to July 2022 and I check out both of these awesome guy's game reviews/channels regularly. Oh and GMAN is f***ing hilarious.
Thanks for watching mate

In my opinion I think far cry 5 shines the most in characters and OST
Not really, all the characters show up for like one mission each and has literally no charatcer buildup. Ost is great tho
Soundtrack is where it shines the most.
Thanks, going to try this 👍
Well its 5 years, but i just started playing farcry 5 so thanks for this tip👍🏻
Exactly what I did but I just killed animals myself
Yeah people who had ammo issues must have shit aim or never actually go and pick it up
I love boomer he's such a good boy that cute little scamp

It doesn't have multiple save slot, you have to delete your original save to play differently, i repeat, IT DOESN'T HAVE MULTIPLE SAVE SLOT.
Rohith Kumar that’s one thing I did not like about this game. It’s bs
Just do new game plus I get it’s not the same but new game plus makes it fun to replay
@@grantgarrett9239 I don't want to do a new game plus, I want to try multiple choices but want to save them separately

And I just picked up Vermintide 2, this review doesnt make it easy for my wallet...
Destiny 2 need to learn from Ubisoft in the " things to do" department.
Had quite a few notifications for FC5 reviews in my inbox, this was the first one I clicked on

Nice. Posted this over on the reddit for other to find aswell brother. Keep up the great work.
Sorry Skill Up, but this review is at least 20 minutes too short to enjoy
You know I always check out your review before purchasing games.
Thanks for the short informative review!

Thanks again skillup, for your hard work and your dedication to the genre. Loving MHW right about now, picked it up because of your review and followed my recommendation of the game with recommendation of your review with many of my friends.
-That one commenter that wrote paragraphs on how cool you were before Destiny 2
It's amazing to see you pump out these awesome reviews! Keep up the good work!
Wait for a deep deep sale it is.

Microtransactions in a full price game always make me a little sick especially when there's gold and deluxe editions/season pass
A brief review. Almost 20 mins long
I mean if you want to really get into any kind of depth most reviews are gonna be 20-40 minutes long, those little 3 minute videos that Game Sites put out basically tell you nothing apart from things you already know and a review score at the end.
Yeah, this was the perfect length for me. Told me everything I wanted to know.
But I get it, if you hate it, everyone has to hate it or they're just shills
blitz34 I spoke out against microtransactions. If there is one sure fire way to piss off publisher, it's that.
Have you seen the videos on his other channel? I don't think he's the publisher-blowing type.
Skill Up not really because everyone complains about microtransactions, its just part of games nowadays, also, compared to other games, the microtransactions in this game is nothing, some games have things locked behind microtransactions

I'm getting really frustrated with all this live-service shit in every game nowadays. It's good to hear this game at least has a pretty solid foundation going forward, but I'd like to be able to buy a complete game, y'know? Might pick this one up.

He looks way too young to be a Ralph, I agree. I'm assuming he's around my age, late 20's to early 30's, and I don't know anybody named Ralph in Australia other than him.
Just finished the entire game. I loved it. I really did. I think this was my favorite Ubisoft game.

Ugh, 60 dollar game with season pass and microtransactions. So sick of this shit.
The season pass is giving you three dlcs and far cry 3 and dont fucking use the micro transactions
I'm surprised that this doesn't seem to be just another generic Ubisoft game and it even looks like it might have a story and some fun gameplay.

Watching this review reminds me of Far Cry 3 where it also took forever to get a lot of money. Love the video and excited to play the game
Oof gonna enjoy this review, by far one of the most professional reviewers out there 👍, Keep it up skill up
I'm so glad that they made abandoning a helicopter a 'hold the button to exit' action. In GTA V I accidentally hit the 'jump out of vehicle' button from a plane without a parachute more times than I care for.
I completely agree with what Skill Up had to say in this review but I would like to elaborate on my personal experience playing this great game:
While in the first 2-3 hours of the game I felt a shortage of money, that feeling faded away pretty quickly and cash started flowing, I do have to state that I played on PC where it's much easier to loot the corpses since you don't have to hold the button to loot and using a mouse makes it easier to avoid picking up weapons.
I sponsored! looking forward to that icon. EDIT:Its my pride and accomplishment.
Thank you mate!
What's the difference between a youtube sponsor and Patreon?
Does one of them pay more from subscriptions? I'm assuming both websites take a small percentage...
Lord Daisah if you sponsor you gain access to sponsor only community updates. You should do it.
The game looks really good, but I'll have to buy a used copy to punish Ubisoft for the microtransactions.
Watch out EVIL BIG CORPORATION, this guy is going to PUNISH you! What a fucking idiot
@Psyf3rn Well if enough guys like him buys a used copy or waits 2 years for a 75% sale it will be something a corporation has to notice or get fucked.
People not buying AC:Syndicate led to the development of AC:Origins.
Totally agree, when will they realise their greed does more harm to the games industry than help it
ForcePF they’re very non-aggressive completely optional microtransactions, I’m not sure what you’re trying to punish them for when they’re the only large publisher not shoving microtransactions down your throat. I applaud Ubisoft because microtransactions are inevitable now. If you’re a publicly traded gaming publisher then you’re basically forced to put microtransactions in your games. This is their way of saying “here’s your microtransactions” to their investors while keeping them out of the gamers throats.
Gewdvibes Just don’t buy games from publicly traded companies, that simple. Plenty of games out there that deserve your money more.
13:28 "You eventually just stop looting corpses 'cause you can't be f**ked, right." 🤣🤣🤣 SUBSCRIBED!
Maybe go watch ACGs review of it for a second opinion. He had quite a lot of issues with it.
Parker Rupp I'm sure you'll have a great time with it! Comment back in a couple days and let us know how it's going! Happy hunting
"A brief review" -20 mins long :/
He dreams of being a Jon Anderson, I think.
Compared to his other reviews, it's pretty brief.
Stfu, get outta here if you don’t want to watch a 20 min vid, like it literally says the time on the thumbnail before you click on it so that means you commented this just to start shit
Ryley Griggs yes but it still isng brief, don't hand me the compared to shit, brief is brief, and this is not
0utta S1TE it has nothing to do with an attention span, it has to do with brief being brief, but im sorry your such a bitch
I'm not everyone and everyone is not me, everyone has their own way of thinking/opinion, so cheers to diversity and different ways of seeing things :)
Thank you for the video man I really like your stuff, keep it coming.
Techkey1 same thoughts here. I don't mind this type of grind. At least we can buy what we want, when we want, and no goddamn lootbox.
I buy strategy guides for games I like as collector's item. But talk about back in the day before youtube/internet... oh boy, showing this gamer's age here, lol!
lol yeah I think I may have showed mine too.
regarding the in-game money part of the video: you're mentioning how you're constantly having to buy ammo at shops, and therefore not able to buy many other 'things' (guns, clothes, vehicles) - i've played maybe a total of 10-15 hours at this point, and i've spent in-game money on ammo maybe 10-15 times at most. there are ammo caches all over the open world, at outposts, even sometimes in the prepper stashes which should be a top priority for anybody playing this game. the prepper stashes have been my favorite part of the game. having little puzzles to solve to open an entrance to someone's fully stocked bunker or garage, and getting loads of money, perk points, weapons, vehicles, ammo, and collectibles.
You should expand your channel from just reviews to more video game topic video essays. Your reviews are already in line with what a video essay is and it be really refreshing to get that approach with your level of passion and knowledge on other topics related to games
Looking forward to the video on politicization of games. It’s literally the only thing keeping me from buying FC5, but I’ll get over it

Alright, a SkillUp quickie. Shorter than exactly 0 other reviews. Can't wait for the full one to come out.
First started watching your reviews with div1 and now you are the only reviewer where I take your opinion serious
Thanks for this review, helped me alot to make a decision (I'll buy)

Absolutely fantastic review! Your videos are always really informative and helpful and in no way talking around or generalizing things. I love it!
I'd go to you over IGN anyday lol
Keep up!
I love that your "brief review" is longer than everyone elses
Hello, Short snappy comment today, I got to watch another SkillIup video today, takes me a few minutes to put together my big comment and I don't have that kind of time because I'm currently in the middle of a WoW raid and I want to let you know right now whether it's worth watching this video so that's what I'm going to do. Now, SkillIUp has been struggling for a while now to try and get his video intro's to a shorter length then a feature film and so he's revitalised it with a new setup. Point is, I'd buy this man a short snappy stubby this time, but a stubby none the less. :)
Kyoudo This genuinely made me laugh :D
Yeah, I try. but I can't say it's not funny when you can almost guarantee not everyone reading it knows what stubby is XD
Personally love this length of video, not too long like the other reviews (I know this isn't the full review) great stuff!
Neither of those things bother me.
his “fun” aspect wasn’t hindered by it.
Augusto Gonçalves couldn't agree more buddy
Missing out too bad
Ahhh yes, Trump bad. Haven't seen that again
"...short snappy review..."
*sees the 18min runtime
Well, I guess I'll go make some food to eat while I watch this
I appreciate the short review, but the truth is I'd have gladly neglected all the things I have to do and watched it even if it was an hour long. There's such a quality to your reviews and I've appreciated every one I've seen. I was going to buy this game anyway but now I can do so with confidence. Thank you!
The real question we all want to know Skill Up is... Are you wearing shorts in this review?
underwears!
Quick review is 18 min... Lucky wife. I feel worse and worse as a husband as the days go on
i didn't even realize there were microtransactions in the game until hours upon hours in, but i'm an insane person and i find absolutely every "prepper cache" and each one of those things has 3 perk point magazines and a ton of cash in them, also each fast travel location has silver bars hidden somewhere you just have to look for the stuff....and finding the prepper caches is actually pretty fun, most of them are like little dungeon puzzles.
Wooohoo an HBO advert on your channel! Does that mean you’re playing with the big boys now?!
Sounds exactly like ghost recon wildlands just a different name, but different enough i guess,so yeah thanks for the review
I haven't watched the video, but given it's only 18 minutes I'm guessing this is just the intro right? Actual review coming in part two?
I’m actually watching this in the middle of the day instead of late while I’m falling asleep. Love you Ralph
I didn't even know microtransactions were in the game until this video. I saw that items were for sale for in-game cash and silver bars, but I found some bars in the game early on and just assumed that's how you acquired them. I never bothered to click on the "silver bars" tab in the shops.
