Your videos are frickin amazing. I would’ve never thought I’d find a channel that covered like every weird fps game I played as a kid. Serious nostalgia trip!
i found out about this game from you and then proceeded to shill it like no tomorrow. if you're just about done with it, post it please. i would like to see it.
Before I clicked on this video I wondered 'will he mention the godawful music?' You didn't disappoint. That bastard from the first level singing about his freaking wristwatch has haunted my memory for over a decade.
Good god I hate the appearance and sound of those shotguns. They look like oversized pencils and sound like a noise recorded from an electronic drum kit.
I remember playing this game in 2011 while suffering from the flu. All I remember about the experience is the vietnam level and the taste of bread combined with that WHERE'D I GO WRONG song.
Doom 3 was in active development since 2000. The first released in-game footage was at Mac World in Tokyo, Japan 2001. The playable demo was in 2003. So yeah, I say this game stole the logo's design.
Maybe, but it's pretty bad 75% of the time. I agree with most points gggman has here, the game has the potential to be good but just does some really stupid shit that I fail to imagine human beings actually designed it. I'll go more into it with that semi-review-discussion thing I'm doing.
I can't tell you how glad I am that you manage to talk about Nitro Family ever since I've started following you 5 years ago. It's one of those games people need to be aware of because of it's existence but not for the quality of it. Nitro Family is just wasted potential when you get down to it. Like it has the right elements to make it a pretty cool game, but holy shit does it feel padded and the balancing is such shit. I actually kind of like the music in the game, though I don't blame people for thinking it's obnoxious, since the music is really repetitious. Yet, I still have sort of a soft spot for it for it's gameplay ideas and like you said it does have some heart to it at the end of the day.
i played this game for the first time about a year ago, roughly. i disagree with a couple of things, but for the most part you're right. the dude juggling. you can generally tell when they're staggered or when they die, at least when they hit the ground. the mechanic itself is fine, its the enemy behavior and the level design. some of it is real wack. mostly the boss design. i could see the enemies juggling you being rather interesting if you remove the aimpunch, half (or even more) the height it tosses you, and severely limit the amount of those enemies. the music isnt that bad. the first track was absolutely a mistake. at least with the rest of the vocal tracks its not that bad. you can drown out track 4's vocals and it wont be that annoying. track 1's entire purpose was to be awful and annoy you. its a damn shame. i still think the game is worth playing to some degree. i'll have to stop procrastinating and replay it to completion now. also im sad you didnt talk about the huge "WINNERS DONT DO DRUGS" overlay when you pick up the drugs.
I wonder, where do you find all these fps games? I mean, even if I looked at lists of most unknown/underated/you've never heard of fps games, I still wouldn't find like almost half the games you review.
Kdosda Hegen I've recognized this and Country Justice from gaming magazines I read when I was a kid during the early to mid 2000s. But I think for the case of Gggman is that fans of the channel could have recommended the obscure games for him.
Valentine Kyss What gaming megazines exacly are you talking about, I mean do you remember the names? I want to check them online and compare to that we had in Lithuania
I'd say they played them when they were new. Or bought games others wouldn't of even considered due to a bad cover or the like. I bought alot of games from Big Lots, Dollar General, and Garage Sales.
FPS is one of the most popular game genres in Korea. Lots of Koreans play Counter Strike Source. Korean companies made their own fps games such as Counter Strike Online and Crossfire, the latter is extremely popular in China.
I mean, I was totally on board with you as to not buying this game, then you had to go and put the songs up with the titles underneath. Now I gotta buy it.
Well, this is why I trust and love Croteam and Serious Sam even more. It truly turns out that Serious Sam isn't the only game on the Serious Engine. Your review is spectacular.
You should give Quake 2 for the Nintendo 64 a chance. The level design is completely different from the PC Quake 2. The only problem is that the controls aren't the best but I think it's pretty underrated.
I remember playing this as a kid but then I forgot what it's called! I never got further than the second stage, with the jungle and stuff. Thanks for reviewing this, and great job as always!
FrameRater dude... You are changing up an entirely written and partly filmed video just because GGGman made one on the same game. He isn't the be all end all and you shouldn't treat him like he is.
I usually just review games that are obscure and forgotten. Now it has more attention so my desire to look into it is skewed (mostly because had it not been obscure, I wouldn't have sunk my time into it). I don't mind changing things up, I've had to in the past.
The one thing I really kinda think is nest about this game is how both Grenade launchers look awesome with all its moving parts moving on screen when fired , it’d be nice if there was an FPS game with that for all guns.
Wow I totally forgot this game existed. I came across it almost by accident back in like 2004 and I was certain I was the only human to know about this aborted clone lol
Love this game and it's combo system with the mixed dual wielding and kills. Never got around to finishing it though. Would be ripe for a reboot like Shadow Warrior. Bulletstorm really reminded me of this in a good way.
This is the kind of game that should get a remake. A gun on each trigger like The Darkness 2, and every weapon to be used one handed, and arena design and movement mechanics like Doom, with a goofy sense of humor to boot, and you have a winner.
Oh man i thought i was the only one that played this game ... asked anyone from my block and nobody played it ... you nailed the experience i had with it, but i liked it i was pretty much like Serious Sam and it was mindless fun, i actually bought the sniper rifle, i remember was very useful but not that much and as you can imagine was hard not to max upgrade the weapons to get it, i actually found the game in a store for only 1 dollar
Wow I completely forgot about this game. A few very creative ideas. I remember I just ended up cheating quite early in the game. I liked doing silly shit with cheats in games, it was fun.
theres a couple of other forgotten games running on the serious sam engine, possibly just as bad as this - Alpha Black Zero: Intrepid Protocol, EuroCops, Carnivores: Cityscape, also Deer Hunter 2003 and Bird Hunter 2003.... oh, there was also even one mmorpg game on serious engine, I think it was called Last Chaos or something, I think it's dead now
You know, I've heard the phrase "two postage stamps and some dental floss" used to refer to undergarments, but this is the first time I've ever actually SEEN an example of such.
"Where i go wrong???" Lmao I thought this game was cool when i saw it many many many years ago from someone on youtube but i don't recall who was it, and boi was it a surprise you just made this video as i was trying to think of said title of the game. And it's a piece of shit of course rofl, great video.
"You fight alongside your hot wife!"
Surprisingly wholesome.
"And you can cheat on her with some random skank!"
Never mind.
Your videos are frickin amazing. I would’ve never thought I’d find a channel that covered like every weird fps game I played as a kid. Serious nostalgia trip!
*Your
*I’d
Like your JRPG videos by the by.
Love your videos
nice to see you here
Ayeee, you played this game too!!!
Well, that's a friggin' coincidence if I ever seen one.
Literally finishing up this game to review right now...
I'm changing my review up entirely now, it's just going to be a discussion. No point making a full review when sonny jim just posted one.
FrameRater rekt
I'm looking forward to seeing that in action tbh.
i found out about this game from you and then proceeded to shill it like no tomorrow. if you're just about done with it, post it please. i would like to see it.
Wtf is this I found your channel like 2 days ago and got back in to serious Sam then gggmanlives uploads this and then u comment on it!
*"Crash Bandicoot with Aids"*
Shin Computer-Monster "Guy Ritchie's Ass Crack" is my favorite track of the game.
I kind like this track...
"Crash bandicoot with guns"-IGN
Shin Computer-Monster I'd buy that for a dollar
Is that the real name? WTF
How dare this fictional character cheat on his wife whom he carries
Yea did you see that ass
when his cheating happens?
Before I clicked on this video I wondered 'will he mention the godawful music?'
You didn't disappoint.
That bastard from the first level singing about his freaking wristwatch has haunted my memory for over a decade.
DOESN'TREALLYMATTERCUZICANTTELLTHETIME
Good god I hate the appearance and sound of those shotguns. They look like oversized pencils and sound like a noise recorded from an electronic drum kit.
They work in my book though. Its either basic shotgun model with stock shotgun sounds, or something a bit different and unique.
"...a noise recorded from an electronic drum kit."
Damn, that's a good description.
I remember playing this game in 2011 while suffering from the flu. All I remember about the experience is the vietnam level and the taste of bread combined with that WHERE'D I GO WRONG song.
That accurately sums the game up in general.
It may sound pathetic, but your videos make my week sometimes. Proud to be a Sonny Jim!
This is not Logan Paul’s Vlog, there is nothing pathetic about feeling good watching this channel.
Nice snappy new intro, this channels changed so much in 6+ years
The HUD looks like the design of a kids juice commercial from the 90's.
NOW WITH 20% JUICE!
It's cereal Sam
Moderately-agitated Samuel
Extremely furious samelth
6:44 That's literally the UAC logo from Doom 3
Cant sue you if you are not in north america.
Joke aside, I'm pretty sure id dont give much of a shit unless it can harm them legally.
This game was released earlier than Doom 3 though.
Doom 3 was in active development since 2000. The first released in-game footage was at Mac World in Tokyo, Japan 2001. The playable demo was in 2003. So yeah, I say this game stole the logo's design.
To be honest this actually looks pretty fun.
Maybe, but it's pretty bad 75% of the time.
I agree with most points gggman has here, the game has the potential to be good but just does some really stupid shit that I fail to imagine human beings actually designed it. I'll go more into it with that semi-review-discussion thing I'm doing.
No it doesn't. You know why? Play it and find out just how flaccid and unsatisfying the gunplay is.
that mod is called Serious Sam
I can't tell you how glad I am that you manage to talk about Nitro Family ever since I've started following you 5 years ago.

I remember our almost daily discussions on more obscure games I should check out.
You still gotta do Codename Outbreak and vivisector!
i played this game for the first time about a year ago, roughly. i disagree with a couple of things, but for the most part you're right.
the dude juggling. you can generally tell when they're staggered or when they die, at least when they hit the ground. the mechanic itself is fine, its the enemy behavior and the level design. some of it is real wack. mostly the boss design. i could see the enemies juggling you being rather interesting if you remove the aimpunch, half (or even more) the height it tosses you, and severely limit the amount of those enemies.

You haven't finished it? I'd like to see if you still think it's worth playing once you get to the last stage.
yeah idk why i neglected to mention that. i got more than half way though. its a long game. im gonna start playing it now.
@@khaosfaction Did you finish it?
yes, its still a good game. beat it on hard, the last level with the dudes using victors shotguns was fucking great. its still entirely worth playing.
Most of them are suggested by viewers.
Gggmanlives Now I'm wandering where they find those games LOL
Valentine Kyss What gaming megazines exacly are you talking about, I mean do you remember the names? I want to check them online and compare to that we had in Lithuania
I'd say they played them when they were new. Or bought games others wouldn't of even considered due to a bad cover or the like. I bought alot of games from Big Lots, Dollar General, and Garage Sales.
Shiiiit,
This sounds like something I would make in Middle School.
Cept reality hit and I would then realize I didnt know how to program a game...Heh.
Reality is often _disappointing..._
That's the first time I've heard Bach described as "ambient, dreamy music" lol. My life is complete.
DAYMN SON
I noticed that Koreans really like FPS
and League of Legends
Koreans love challenges
FPS is one of the most popular game genres in Korea. Lots of Koreans play Counter Strike Source. Korean companies made their own fps games such as Counter Strike Online and Crossfire, the latter is extremely popular in China.
Thank you so much for finding and reviewing this kind of (more or less obscure) games.
You should do a review for Firestarter.
Or Codename Outbreak and wonder why NPCs are as bad as STALKER ones.
Punkin' instigator.
I support this
Quick let's suggest even more janky or rubbish games! You Are Empty and Operation Matriarchy :D
Kelthire I was thinking that too.
0:24 That cheap repetitive animation just kills me
i died a little inside too... of laughter
1998 dreamcast quality
I'm gonna give it a go. We low on good games nowadays anyway. Please review more underrated old school fps gems!
Slow month for our beloved Australian.
Love it when you’re so early that the default resolution is 144p. 👌
360p for me
Early doesn't equal resolution
BRO
720p and 1080p for me
with my limited data cap it's not cool
Scotty Nguyen's 80s Mullet
It does in terms of being rendered and "optimized" by UA-cam for longer videos
I mean, I was totally on board with you as to not buying this game, then you had to go and put the songs up with the titles underneath. Now I gotta buy it.
I want to like Korean stuff, but so much of their stuff feels like a knockoff of American or Japanese otaku products.
Channel07 thats a good thing
Well, this is why I trust and love Croteam and Serious Sam even more. It truly turns out that Serious Sam isn't the only game on the Serious Engine. Your review is spectacular.
*love new intro*
You should give Quake 2 for the Nintendo 64 a chance. The level design is completely different from the PC Quake 2. The only problem is that the controls aren't the best but I think it's pretty underrated.
YES!!! I played this game when it first came out when i was about 12, and I never seen it since :\ i do remember maria rocket back :3
I remember playing this as a kid but then I forgot what it's called! I never got further than the second stage, with the jungle and stuff. Thanks for reviewing this, and great job as always!
I loved playing this game, BUT it would have been better if it had a game patch that added more content and game balances!
hey, a game I never heard of!
I kinda wish I never did hear of it now. X3
A knock-off I'd actually heard of! That's not common for your channel especially O_o
As soon as I heard that calm music I had PTSD flash backs from the evil within 1
"Then it just goes to shheeeuut" LMFAO I love when u say shit.. u crack me up dude.. also I love your honest reviews..super informative!
Yes!!! I asked you like years ago!
Oh hey, I was just about to watch your review of the game. Guess gggmanlives will replace it. ;)
Yeah because it's not as salty as yours.
FrameRater I see... Best of luck to ya man.
This guy is like Torgue's grandfather.
Pause it at 6:44 That's bloody DOOM 3's UAC logo!
Shieeeeet...GGGman got very triggred this time on the last level. Just for our delight! What a wonderful day!
The one thing I really kinda think is nest about this game is how both Grenade launchers look awesome with all its moving parts moving on screen when fired , it’d be nice if there was an FPS game with that for all guns.
Crash Bandicoot with Aids is my favourite genre of music!
They missed their big chance: Having a person on your back and not let you use four weapons at once!
10:46
OMG the music names are killing me, holy fucking shit I haven't had laugh like this in months lol "where did I go wrong = irony" looooool.
You oughta give Giants: Citizen Kabuto a try!
Hey, did you hear Brutal Half-life got an update? Outta check it out if you haven't already.
Honestly this is one of my favorites game of all the time... still have OG disc and i dont know why but i love the soundtrack....
Wow I totally forgot this game existed. I came across it almost by accident back in like 2004 and I was certain I was the only human to know about this aborted clone lol
The maps look out of proportion compared to the characters making them look tiny.
I asked this before, but in case you missed it. I´d love to see Bungies Oni review. I think it was their first game before Halo. :)
Maaaan, I've been waiting so long for this one.
*Starts having PTSD about Beacon hospital and photograph sociopaths as the slo mo music kick in*
The wrong music must've been used in the edit because that's the greatest music ever that I just heard, just from the track titles alone.
new intro is really nice!
Hey man, you ever going to review the Killzone series?
I actually own a CD copy of this game. XD What you said about the last level sums up what I went through...and yes, I beat it back then too.
The game's domain name is up for sale. Looking at the price, it seems likely that it's probably for roughly most of the game's budget.
Love this game and it's combo system with the mixed dual wielding and kills. Never got around to finishing it though. Would be ripe for a reboot like Shadow Warrior. Bulletstorm really reminded me of this in a good way.
I never thought I'd see a review of this game. Awesome!
Well, next time we have trouble coming up with soundtrack song titles, I know who to contact :P
This honestly made me interested in the game. I think all it needs is some balance changes. I hope there's someone out there who can fix this.
So which is the better Serious Sam clone, Gggmanlives? Nitro Family or Will Rock?
Will Rock.
This is the kind of game that should get a remake.
A gun on each trigger like The Darkness 2, and every weapon to be used one handed, and arena design and movement mechanics like Doom, with a goofy sense of humor to boot, and you have a winner.
I really dig this new intro
Should be a revival of this... as an Indiegogo graphic novel campaign
Yaaaay a new video!!!
Chris Plissken
No shit
is the slo-mo music really the same creepy tune seen in the evil within or did you do that?
I'm surprised this didn't open with: "How much more obscure can we get? Well I'm so glad you asked!"
Wow I completely forgot about this game.
A few very creative ideas. I remember I just ended up cheating quite early in the game. I liked doing silly shit with cheats in games, it was fun.
OH U NO RIKE NITRO FAMIRY? DING DONG BANNU
END OF RINE
--------------------
RINE END HERE
_GOODBYE MONETISATION!_
Btw great video as always bro!
Can you do C&C Renegade some of those days??
Thanks for the long review!
theres a couple of other forgotten games running on the serious sam engine, possibly just as bad as this - Alpha Black Zero: Intrepid Protocol, EuroCops, Carnivores: Cityscape, also Deer Hunter 2003 and Bird Hunter 2003.... oh, there was also even one mmorpg game on serious engine, I think it was called Last Chaos or something, I think it's dead now
Any chance you'll look at the Killzone games?
3:41 so this what "grezzo 2" referncing!
Goddamn, that is the biggest and most obstructive HUD ever. Not to mention the weapons cover up basically half the screen.
Gggman is the best. I Love your videos bro
"Crash Bandicoot" LOL!! XD
Maybe battlefront 2 2005 in future video?
I like the mechanic of including the tracks
Spat out my water on my key board at 10:39 when i read the track title XD
ok that first track you play, I actually kinda like it.
Nice review.
You know, I've heard the phrase "two postage stamps and some dental floss" used to refer to undergarments, but this is the first time I've ever actually SEEN an example of such.
I love you
Alright, I'll buy the box off you, name the price
I'll swap it for your Wolfenstein 2 review.
Done deal
This looks AWESOME !! STEAM ?
"Where i go wrong???"
Lmao
I thought this game was cool when i saw it many many many years ago from someone on youtube but i don't recall who was it, and boi was it a surprise you just made this video as i was trying to think of said title of the game.
And it's a piece of shit of course rofl, great video.
Looks fun! where to buy this?
This review made me want to play this game. Hot trash games are an underappreciated art form.
Today I learned what “save scumming” is. Can’t believe I’ve never heard that term before.
I heard of it when I first played Xcom: Enemy Unknown
Rountree1985 same. I had heard him mention it in a different video but this time I was curious enough to google it
I swear that slowmo music was the same as the freeze time music in Grezzo 2 lol
And I learned Mor-TAR, over Morter. Ones brickwork the others... BOOM!
"more-tar"
6:44 is that the UAC logo from DOOM3?
