I loved this game. I just recently stumbled across it while I was looking for something in my bedroom and I am about to play through it again. For me personally it was one of those games that I knew very little about (if anything at all) when I first saw it and bought it because I saw it going cheap in the store, and after playing it I was so glad that I discovered it. It seems to be a lot harder nowadays to discover videogames that way and there seems to be less hidden gems and for the most part either great games or terrible games. I never took notice of official reviews or opinions of official game reviewers because there were too many times when I played and loved a game that had been officially ripped apart or vice versa.
This game is Total Overdose, Mirrors edge, Matrix the path of Neo, Tom Raider and Max pain all put into one game. I miss this era of gaming of Shot em ups like this. The ps2 era had so many of these high action games lol.
This game was really something else, the soundtrack was exceptional. I still listen to some of the bands it introduced me to today. The gameplay was a ton of fun, the story was pretty forgettable though. It was really just meant to be good dumb fun and it did a fine job with that.
Repetition is a hard thing to judge in games since most of them have core gameplay loops and mission structures that repeat over the course of the campaign, the important thing is whether or not you have fun playing it.
Rubi Malone is literally best thing about the entire game and very likeable character..Sure there are alot things that could of been improved but Rubi Malone isn't one of those problems. Despite the issues I had with the game I still absolutely loved it and its a underrated gem that deserves way more love.

I love how the guy at 11:04 is already freefalling but when he dies he somehow falls over, as if the in-game model is physically suspended on wires on a waist harness. Also, at 13:31 the quick time event SUCCESS state is to get skewered hilt-deep through the midriff?
Not everything has to be funny, things can take themselves seriously. Im over the marvel formula of "everything has to be a joke lest our adhd riddled audience dont point out the jokes for everyone in the theater"
what world have u been living in every game and i do mean every single game has these kind of women in them . Heck even far cry 6 has a stronk female lead.
This game really seems to ride the line between being a kusoge and being too forgettable to be. It's funny that you mentioned Eliza's casting, since my first thought was that her voice seems way too youthful to be used for a character like Rubi.

I'll never forget how much "hype" this game had and not getting the hype at all
I’m sure it had something to do with the name and female protagonist 😉
@@shroomkingdom8152 heheh
I kinda miss the sexy women in games from the early 2010s
Shame that having a hot female protag is now considered a form of hate speech
The soundtrack is actually genuis. The lyrics are always talking about Rubi and describing her. One of my fav protagnists of all time. If you didn't notice that then well what are you even doing?
Yeah you’re supposed to listen to lyrics at the same time as you’re fighting dozens of enemies….good one.
@@Gggmanlives It's not that hard to comprehend what the songs are saying while fighting lol there isn't that much lryics to the songs so you can't even miss what they say. It's really neat how the songs tie into Rubi's character traits and each song reflects off of Rubi's personality. I've replayed this game a thousand times so maybe It's just me with the songs on loop in my head lol It's a shame most don't really notice it.
Yes, replaying it a thousand times would probably do that. Most people don't listen to lyrics in the midst of intense gameplay.
Wow, I forgot I had actually played this game. It’s so forgettable…
lol I was feeling the same way. Like, "I remember that scene!"
Same. I remember playing it, but nothing else. Probably the most forgettable game.
Haha yeah me too I remember playing the demo thinking man this looks really fun when the demo ended I was like "wow nevermind"
Forget or deeply deeply repressed...
I bought WET cause of this. It took some getting used to but now I'm having fun. The music is great as long as I mute it in game and play the soundtrack on Spotify. The game becomes much less disjointed that way and I can enjoy full songs.
It's pretty dang fun. And given it's old as heck now, probably get is super cheap. Well worth a play if you haven't.
0:35 no kidding, saints row 3 has the exact same looking prologue level
You should review shadows of the dammed. Its an enjoyable game

You get : schwacked (mom joke)
I get: to be one of the cool guys
Absolutely agreed, I had so much fun with that game. Way underrated.
Such a fun little grind house shooter. Paid full price on release and never regretted it
You ever play never dead? I need someone else to feel my pain.
Or Bullet Witch. Ugh
Nah Neverdead is good
@@MD_Chaos no its not
@@spibbymcgoo4877 holy shit bullet witch what a shit game
@@spibbymcgoo4877 it sucks cause Bullet Witch should had been awesome in theory... a Bayonetta inspired shooter, instead we got long sequences of just walking down empty and uninspiring areas.
Nah the music is still dope. The Rockabilly vibe is dope.
Seeing that 360 achievement notification teleported me back to better times for a moment.
Oh man.. I played this a lot, like a lot ,lot.. great game, well maybe not great but, great fun at least and that is whats important..
I loved this game. It was glitchy but definitely amazing and had potential for a sequel
All I remember are the lack adult art for this game.
Is kinda hard to search with the name of the game...
the signature fart sounds in all your videos never ceases to make me laugh and rewind
"i dont see how this is like a tarintino movie!"
minutes later "It's like pulp fiction"
😆😆😆
The artstyle and especially the soundtrack where amazing
Since you covered wet you should review total overdose next
Ohh man total overdose what an underrated game i borrow it from my cousin and spent like 8 hours playing none stop
Total overdose was nuts! Man yall bringing back good memories here!
That Formula 1 joke in 14:29 was very good. That's quality sound acting... 😂
I LOVE EVERHTING ABOUT THIS GAME. wish we got a remaster or even a sequel.
remake pal remake
This game is Total Overdose, Mirrors edge, Matrix the path of Neo, Tom Raider and Max pain all put into one game. I miss this era of gaming of Shot em ups like this. The ps2 era had so many of these high action games lol.
This game was really something else, the soundtrack was exceptional. I still listen to some of the bands it introduced me to today. The gameplay was a ton of fun, the story was pretty forgettable though. It was really just meant to be good dumb fun and it did a fine job with that.
I remember playing this when I was little and have completely forgotten the name of it years later. Thanks for refreshing my memories 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
lul that Jackass tune in the beginning, the nostalgia. I always remember that after that tune there are some compilations of the group fcking up
Repetition is a hard thing to judge in games since most of them have core gameplay loops and mission structures that repeat over the course of the campaign, the important thing is whether or not you have fun playing it.
I loved this game and it's sound track
That red, black and white filter is straight out of the music video for QOTSA's Go With The Flow
I was just playing this last night hoping someone would give it some love 😂
I played this game as a kid back on 360 and never forgot about it, just never remembered the name. You are a legend man
Rubi Malone is literally best thing about the entire game and very likeable character..Sure there are alot things that could of been improved but Rubi Malone isn't one of those problems.
Despite the issues I had with the game I still absolutely loved it and its a underrated gem that deserves way more love.
One of my favourite protaganists of all time. Also he says the soundtrack doesnt fit yet every song the lyrics are literally talking about Rubi lol its genuis character building through soundtracks. Its to bad Gman didnt pay attention
I loved this game. If you've ever played Total Overdose/Chilli Con Carnage then I don't need to say why.
That part where you fall out of the cargo plane really reminds me of Saints Row The Third
did saints row 3 straight up steal that?
I bought this when It came out and loved it dearly. One of my favorite 360 games. Here's a quote of mine. "Yakuza is a modern day Samurai film." Here's your response. "There aren't any samurais in Yakuza!"
Please! Do a NecroVision review.
Now there’s a legitimately underrated game
Ohhh love this game and its standalone lost company
Never heard of it
@@marbl3d45 in short a fps set in WW1 with a supernatural elements i can't say a lot bc i will spoil it for you
@@marbl3d45 Well, it's not that popular but it's really a fine game!
I love how the guy at 11:04 is already freefalling but when he dies he somehow falls over, as if the in-game model is physically suspended on wires on a waist harness.
Also, at 13:31 the quick time event SUCCESS state is to get skewered hilt-deep through the midriff?
I actually bought this game about a year ago. I honestly still love it
This looks like a fun game. With Eliza Dushku to boot? Hell yeah!
This game was so good
I played and replayed the demo for this game on PS3 at least a hundred times.
"Trying to pretend anime fans are real people"
*This oppression against my people will not stand.*
Not everything has to be funny, things can take themselves seriously. Im over the marvel formula of "everything has to be a joke lest our adhd riddled audience dont point out the jokes for everyone in the theater"
I miss female protagonists like this one
There's plenty of them, its just mostly indie games afaik
Yeah back when women in videos games were allowed to be sexy and enjoy normal sex.
what world have u been living in every game and i do mean every single game has these kind of women in them . Heck even far cry 6 has a stronk female lead.
@horror gasm found the asshole.
@@BasedPajeet female protagonist is politics now, unless she's white and makes Gamer™ pp hard.
I'd love a game to combine gameplay elements from this, Stranglehold, and Dante's gunslinger style and mix it all together.
This game really seems to ride the line between being a kusoge and being too forgettable to be. It's funny that you mentioned Eliza's casting, since my first thought was that her voice seems way too youthful to be used for a character like Rubi.
