Thank you for sharing bud.
No problem. Thanks for watching.
Great info. Thank you!
good stuff!
Thanks!
Thanks for the walk thru.. nice setup
Thanks James!
Try a pool noddle for you light instead of pipe insulation, they are thicker & may be a tighter fit.
Pool noodle is too thick. Pipe insulation is the perfect size. There is a method to my madness.
Dude! This help me a lot I’m starting my Chanel to! The big blues and flat heads are biting here in TX
Glad you found it helpful. Good luck with your channel!
Great video and channel! I won't be anchored all the time when fishing at night and filming. Can you see to navigate when the light is on?
Very informative! Answers a lot of questions I and a lot of your followers have had. Simple is usually better. Many thanks Justin!
Thanks! I agree. Simple is always better in my experience.
Haha! As nice as it would be to have someone film and edit for me, there just isn’t enough money in this make that a reality. Would be cool though.
That’s a cool set up. Steve is good at working with PVC pipe too. Lol.
Haha! I heard Steve lays a lot of pipe.
PVC Pipe mods are almost as exciting as Ebay kayak camera gear.
Great info.....I was curious as to your setup.
Thanks Randy!
A lot of good tips there. I been wondering about all of your set up and how you manage to have enough power to do all you do.
Thanks! It isn’t a perfect setup but it gets the job done.
Kayak Catfish And it gets the job done well. You do great video
Thank you!
You are one of the better channels I must say. Thanks for all your knowledge that you freely give to us. I've been wanting to get my kayak set up but just can't seem to find my sweet set up. I have learned that simple is the best and the safest.
Thanks! I appreciate the nice comment. Good luck with setting your kayak up. Hope you get it dialed in.
Another great and informative video Justin. I'm wondering if you can do a bait catching video? like where you find bluegill/white bass/skipjack without using a cast net.
Thanks! I will do some bluegill and white bass videos soon.
@@KayakCatfish Awesome! Thanks man, you are super cool.
Yes, this was very helpful. I like the simplicity of your camera setup. Great useful info, thanks!
Thanks Tom! Glad you found it to be helpful.
Quick question how did you get the spike off the monopod to mount the flood light? Thank you for all the work you put into the videos.
I just used zip ties to secure the light around the spike. I also drilled a hole near the top of the monopod and ran zip ties through there to help secure it also.
How many ah battery is the motor battery? Cool video. Thanks
Thanks! The torqeedo battery is 315wh. It is made specifically for use with the torqeedo motor.
I thought you used GoPro... that's kool.. I checked out a Hobie dealer here in Louisville & they run $3k wow! Thanks for the share! I'd been wondering how you did this.
Yeah Hobie kayaks aren’t cheap. Lots of good deals in the used market though.
Thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge. Your videos help get me thru the long work week until i can get back on the water. I have been able to implement many of your tactics, resulting in more fish in my yak. Thanks and tight lines...
Thanks Jared! Glad to hear the techniques are working out for you.
I like that monopod light. How high up does the monopod get the light?
Thanks! I think it is around 5ft high.
I wish I could be you for just one day. I'd probably never go back to being myself. Thanks for sharing all your kayak knowledge.
Maybe I should sell a kayak catfish Halloween costume on Amazon so you could at least pretend to be me.
Thanks for the tips
Will hopefully be using some of your ideas !
Thanks! Hope it works out for you.
Thank you for the walk threw n the awesome catfishing videos mad respect! Love this channel
Thanks Justin!
Thanks for sharing this
!
You are welcome. Thanks for watching.
Justin, how do you start and stop recording? Simply reach for the record button each time (no remotes, no voice actuation)? Do you leave the front, high camera on from the get go and just record with the camera on your left side as needed? I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thanks!
I leave the front camera running continuously and just turn the second camera on as needed.
I love the light setup! I've always struggled with lighting while filming at night either surf fishing or from my kayak. Im going to give that light set up a try. Great video
Thanks! Hope it works well for you.
I've been trying to figure out how to set up a good light source, definitely will be using your type of set up
Hope it works well for you.
Thx for the great info Justin! And I must say from what I could see you have a beautiful piece of property there. Congrats on that!
Thank you! I have a little 4 acre fortress of solitude.
You ever going to upgrade to the HDR-AS50? Would be a nice upgrade to both video and audio for you.
No reason to change my current setup
@@KayakCatfish If it works it works!
Just found your channel. Great information. How do you trigger your camera to start recording?
Thanks! I run my front camera continuously and just turn my secondary camera on when fighting a big fish.
@@KayakCatfish great information. Thank you.
Nice setup. Been wondering if it made things crowded on your kayak, but still have plenty of room which is nice. May have to pick up one of those battery packs you use for the camera. Nice video 👍🏻
Thanks Jeff! It does get cramped especially if I am fishing a tournament and carrying the measuring board too.
I’ve curious . Are you constantly filming or do you use any kind of remote to get cameras to record. I’ve got a knock off action cam with a remote on my wrist.
I run my front camera continuously. That is the only way to get the takedown shots.
Hello, how do you use the 2 cameras together to edit 1 video on your computer? What software program do you use on your computer? Thanks!
External Mics? Are cameras waterproof?
No external mics. Cameras have waterproof cases but I don’t use them. It screws up the audio if I do.
@@KayakCatfish starting my outdoor channel soon. Slots channel is picking up speed but more pumped about the outdoor stuff. Trying to pick a channel name now! Love your videos keep it up!
What kind of camera do you use to take pictures of your fish you'll be submitting to your current tornament?
I just use my iPhone for tournament pics.
@@KayakCatfish catfish slime doesn't get in the way of your touchscreen?
I just wipe my hands off with a towel before handling the phone.
@@KayakCatfish man I'm over thinking it haha such a simple yet effective reply! Thanks man
What mount are you using for the front camera? Looks like something clamped around the camera and then secured to the ram mount?
Looking through other videos of yours and scouring the internet has led me to believe it is the AKA-SF1 Skeleton Frame. Can't find it anywhere to buy. I have an AS30 I want to use but mounting with it plugged in is tough without modifying the waterproof case.
It is the Sony skeleton housing.
Your camera waterproof?
No
@@KayakCatfish 10-4.
What do you do for editing? simple software? Or is it pretty complex?
I keep it simple. I use iMovie.
