There are so many more of these to mention..just a few are Roxx Gang, McQueen Street, XYZ, Electric Boys, The Scream, Americade, Heaven's Edge, Tora Tora and tons and tons more! Great topic!
These glam metal videos are great. I've been trying to add more rare CDs to my collection. I have most of those, but a few I need to check out. Some recent additions are Cherry St., Erotic Suicide, Julliet, Heaven's Edge and Cold Sweat.
A hidden gem that absolutely delivers is SEA HAGS self titled debut and only album they ever made! What a firecracker of an album, loaded with raunchy swagger, chock full of top shelf riffs and killer groove, bluesy and uncompromising! Brendon has done it again - so cool to spread the word on these buried treasure albums! Just blasted that Katmandu album with Dave King - freakin' awesome! Preach it, brother! 🎸🎸🎸🎸
@@michaelburnside4947 NICE! Sea Hags did kill it on their debut and only album! Excellent swaggering riffs and groove, guitars loud and proud, tight rhythm section and great, gritty vocals! Every song delivers and the production is spot on - it still sounds great to this day. Totally undervalued and should have been massive, so cool to see you liked it. A few other bands that were under the radar were Cats N Boots (one album only) Spread Eagle, Uncle Salty, and Warrior Soul and T T Quick - you hear anything from these bands, I know you'd dig em' !!!
The Shark Island album is great. Really like the vocals. The Contraband cd is excellent also and both are very under appreciated. Both are Captain approved! Cheers
YES!!! What a great way to start the day with glam metal hidden gems! Already have most of these in my collection, but i hadn't heard of Katmandu. I'll definitely be checking them out. With so much glam metal in your collection, I really think this could be an ongoing series. And I'm still hoping for an AOR video (AOR-gasm?) one of these days. THX, Brendon!
because of ur channel i finally found a cd copy of my favorite old worn out cassette of cats n boots on cd from rock candy reissues, & being a cats n boots fan, thru that experience u turned me on to heavy bones as well! ...so thank u sir!
Hey Brendon Shark Island good choice. Hericane Alice nice underrated album as well. Though I’m sure you either have or have heard I wanted to suggest (89) Beau Nasty- Dirty but We’ll Dressed (90) Heavens Edge- ST (92) Roxy Blue- Want Some?
Excellent selection there Brendon. The one I've never heard of was Katmandu, so we certainly go and have a look for that. I love this series you do with the undiscovered gems, but it can be expensive for us who don't have these albums lol! Keep this one going please.
Yeah especially finding out about the albums now after they’re long out of print and rare. Most of these I picked up back in the early 90’s when everyone was getting rid of their Glam Metal and I stocked up. Still some of these are really worth tracking down today.
Great video, as always😊. One group that I discovered late was Steelhouse Lane. They released a couple of albums in the late 90's. Luckily, I was able to get both of them before they were out of print. "Metallic Blue" 1998 "Slaves of the New World " 1999 They had some success with the single "Seven Seas" however, like most songs of this genre got lost in the weeds of the 90s.
Superb video Brendan. I'm a huge glam metal fan so this vídeos are very welcome. Hope u don't take too long to do the next one. Here are some very cool rare glam metal bands you should check out in case u don't know them: --Dirty blonde ''passion'' --Dirty rhythm '' hard as a rock'' -- Alleycat scratch ''dead boys in trash city'' -- Jesse strange ''s/t'' -- Noize toys ''fallin' in lust...again''
Good stuff, sir! You are probably already familiar, but have you read the book, Nöthin But A Good Time? about the history of Glam Metal from all the people who were actually there since its inception? It got me fired up to play all my glam/hair metal discs, both CD and vinyl! ;-) Another good book is The Rise Fall and Rebirth of Hair Metal...turned me on to some great lesser known gems like Jester and Slik Toxik.
Cats N Boots should have been HUGE! Better than Crue, get Kicked And Clawed immediately! Nice work, Brendon! Outstanding musicians in this short lived band - rocks with bluesy swagger from top to bottom🎸🎸🎸🤟🤟🤟
Contraband also has some guitar work by the guitarist of Shark Island. That might explain why you group them together. Also Mandy Meyer(Asia) was the guitarist on Katmandu
Always awesome to hear about more obscures band! Will check Kill for Thrills. Brendon, I was wondering, would you recommend Warrant's 1995 album Ultraphobic ? Cheers.
Hummm….I question that except maybe those are from all around the world. More specifically I’m trying to collect all the western glam metal bands and maybe even more specifically because it was a US phenomenon, pick up all the US bands. But of course there are some great ones from the UK and Canada in my collection too.
I got into the glam metal with tigertailz. Their debut with stevi Jaimz was pretty sleazy and alot rawer than the later stuff and I still love it. Then there was all this cool US 🇺🇸 stuff that seemed limitless at the time. These albums in the UK are getting scarce especially in good condition and your channel has introduced me to loads already
Thanks for mentioning the masterpiece that "Law of the order" is!!! I agree with Contraband being a great album, too. (Did you know that Axl Rose stole all his stage moves from Richard Black by watching videos and live shows from Shark Island and trying to copy him?!?) I am a proud owner of the vinyl "S'cool bus" album and also the promotional "Alive at the Whisky" EP! Seing you wonderful shirt I was wondering if that was a reprint or a tour shirt from the 1993 tour since I NEVER saw that shirt actually. Speaking of Enuff Z'nuff, I have a very serious request, Brendon: Do you consider to do an Albums ranked episode for Enuff Z'nuff?!? There is NONE on the whole web, or did I just not find it? I know you will be the one to do it; I like Pete Pardos Sea of Tranquility videos a lot, but I know he's not into glam (as you are). That would be awesome and a FIRST for you, since nobody ever did that! (Just an idea...)
Now it's not from the 80's or 90's , but the Super group Saints of the underground had some cool tracks. Guitar-Keri Kelly Drums - Bobby Blotzer Bass - Robbie Crane Vocals- Jani Lane
good to see these back
👍
Great video. I had not heard of a few of these until now.
Cool! I hope it leads to some new finds for you!
Saw Herricane Alice, Sleeze Beez, and LA Guns at a club in Columbia SC. Great show!
Lucky man!
I have to admit, you are a Glam Metal expert. Brendonpedia!
My own brain is my encyclopedia 😂😂😂 New Glam Metal Gems episode on Thursday!
There are so many more of these to mention..just a few are Roxx Gang, McQueen Street, XYZ, Electric Boys, The Scream, Americade, Heaven's Edge, Tora Tora and tons and tons more! Great topic!
…but if you mention them all, I won’t have any more episodes to do! Haha 😂😂😂😂 Yes all great ones indeed!
Tora Tora kicks complete ass!
These glam metal videos are great. I've been trying to add more rare CDs to my collection. I have most of those, but a few I need to check out. Some recent additions are Cherry St., Erotic Suicide, Julliet, Heaven's Edge and Cold Sweat.
Juliet are the best! Love Kenny McGee!
Yes sir! Heaven's Edge were excellent! Just didn't get the promotion they deserved! Love em' 🎸🎸🎸
Always loved that Cats In Boots album. The guitar tone on that record is so unique. Sounds like 30 Marshal stacks all on 10.
Yeah it’s really nice and full!

Hello Brendon and thanks for great video. It was very interesting and I found a lot new bands to me to check out. Please do more of these.
You’re welcome Mika! Glad you found some bands to search out.
Love these episodes! Keep ‘em coming

My Favorite one you do, as I’m a Die Hrard Glam metal and love The stuff that got overlooked and not known!!!
Good to know Shawn, I’ll keep that in mind for more episodes.

You should head over to Demon Doll Records and pick up Cats In Boots Demonstration originally released in 1988 but got reissued in 2011.
@@BrendonSnyder yeah, cool, ill do that... thanx again bro!
Thanks Brendon, gonna chase all of these up. Did you like Faster Pussycat more than LA Guns back in the day?

Dave King and Gary Moore were friends as both were Irish. He made a guest appearance on Gary Moore's We Want Moore live album and video

Southgang - Group Therapy 1992
Heavens Edge - self titled 1990
Baton Rouge - Shake Your Soul 1990
Kik Tracee - No Rules 1991

Not sure if it’s considered glam metal but what one the bands I enjoyed back in those days was asphalt ballet
Both of their albums are pretty good. Not exactly glam metal but similar in ways.
Because it came out during that era and was promoted as such it falls into the category for me. Good stuff.
Great job
Looks like Shark Island's S'Cool Bus was reissued on CD in 2022.
Yep! I picked it up. Good, but not like Law Of The Order.
Saints and Sinners, only 1 release but has to be from beginning to end maybe the best hard rock albums I’ve ever heard! Seriously check it out!
