It’s really good, a lot of the time I only use one headphone so I could technically charge and listen at the same time…who knows how long they’d last that way!?
I prefer to listen to the sounds of nature when I'm out on the bike. Also, if you wear headphones you have no awareness of traffic and other things. Not practical for riding on a bike in my humble opinion. However, each to his/her own...
are you saying the open headphones claim to give more awareness is false? In my opinion riding with no brakes cancels out headphones anyway, live dangerously and fuck humble!
Calm down..I didn't say that at all my humble responder. You don't need to swear to make your point because you have already lost the argument. Have a great evening.
I get that many people enjoy the sound of nature and don’t want to take anything away from their awareness, totally makes sense to me. I like these headlining a because you can still hear your surroundings…albeit not as much as no headphones but better than lots of the alternatives.
you made a comment saying headphone users "have no awareness of traffic and other things" on a review of headphones claiming to be a special design that claims to deal with this specific problem. That was bad enough but then you indicated this was the result of your opinoin being humble, so sorry I snapped a bit and swore, burn me at the fucking stake
These look interesting, like a newer type of open-ear headphones which _aren't_ bone conducting -- rather a tiny, directional speaker just outside the ear. I saw a different brand that _costs more but didn't have a battery in the case_ (on China Cycling).
Good question. There are other reviews that compare the two. Outside of sound quality, the OpenRock Pro has a charging case as standard that the Oladance charges an extra £50 or whatever currency. m.ua-cam.com/video/k-2KmqO96Lg/v-deo.html&pp=ygUjb2xhZGFuY2Ugd2VhcmFibGUgc3RlcmVvIHZzIG9uZW9kaW8%3D
I have Aftershokz and these don't appeal to me as much. You hear less of the surrounding since they sit on top of your ear cavity, plus they're more finicky and you cannot put them around your neck while not in use.

My favorite are a good wired pair of like KZs or something from amazon for like 20$, so that when they inevitably break from my salty sweat I can afford another. (Plus IEMs with ear hooks allow you to keep one or both earbuds hanging right next to your ear if you want to swap between traffic noise and music)
@@DaveNoakes agreed. I'm still enjoying the Oladance you reviewed a while back. Got them on kickstarter and they're better audio quality than Aftershokz and still give you the open ear. Only problem is you can't turn them off on the ear buds, you either have to put them back in the case, or turn them off on the app. But if you turn them off on the app you can't urn them back on without the case. So riding to a meetup for ex, it's a bit of a pain since you either leave them on the the ride, or don't use them coming home. Maybe they'll update the app to fix that
How do these compare to the bone conduction ones? I have a set of earbuds I really like, but I've got some sort of ear irritation and I can't wear them at the moment. :(
I find the sound quality slightly better on these compared to bone conducting ones although you do hear less of the noise around you. I’d say these on a low volume eliminate that issue…and for that I rate them. My only issue was the fit.
46 hours with the case. 19 hrs headphones only, but that's amazing.

That’s a good description, I tried the ones Joe used in China cycling a while back….found the sound quality on these slightly better.

Hi Dave, it's been 8 months, do you still use these? Have you found something better? Are there any long term issues you didn't notice in this video?
Hiya, 8 months in and they are still working g perfectly 👍🏼
(You look pretty smart in the new Giro helmet)
Thank you 🙏🏽

AfterShokz are great
New sub here. Loving your videos!
Hi Tom, thank you and welcome to the channel!
What genre of music do you listen to while riding. I am sure it varies, but what's the go to music?
Mostly hip hop, uk and Russian 🤷🏻♂️

Wired headphones just don’t last with me…I always ruin the cord…that said I also quite often lose one of the wireless headphones 😂🤦🏻♂️

Can you compare these to the SHOKZ OpenFit?
Those things' sound quality is far better than OpenFit.
From my perspective cycling and headphones don’t go together.
That’s it.
You do you
Fair enough
