so much time and love for this truck and it died with the paint job to the bonnet...
Loving the series. Keep up the good work. One wee suggestion… cut your losses with the paint job on the bonnet, use your angle grinder to cut it back to bare mental, use a good etch primer and paint it black (even raptor black) that way at least it isn’t trying to match and will look relatively even. Just my two cents ❤

on the underbody, door sills, engine bay.... you spent a shedload of time removing any surface rust, etc. good job. to finish this up and protect the bare metal, get some cosmoline rust proofing spray and coat it well. this will creep into all the crevices and seal the metal from rust reforming. I use Amsoil HD metal protector. you got a good looking rig there. kudos.
Wow, great videos. I just picked up a 95 Disco 1 that is certainly in need of some TLC. Going on my 4th Disco 1 and this once presents the most challenges. Best of luck!
Nice job on the viewing deck, but cupboard doors wont hold up to the elements for long, Hope the cable ties were a temporary fix? Because if the wind catches the boards from underneath the roof rack, you may have a few flying doors! Good effort though!😂

Hey mate! Another Brisbane dweller here who is also doing up a Disco 1 but a 97 300Tdi. Been enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming. Just one issue is with your roof rack platform, is that the timber is "chip board". And that stuff dose not like water. It will just swell up and crumble away. You might be able to delay the onset by painting any of the bare timber parts.😎
Thanks for the advice! Going to coat it all in some water-based polyurethane and hope that will delay any water damage in the future …

Why don't you just tear it off and lay down some sanded cedar fence pickets or Trex composite decking? Also, just bite the bullet and use a sander and sand down the hood, prime it, sand it again, then paint it. Don't call it a restoration if you're going to hack it.
