Thank you for that. It is a beautiful wood. If you like the wood you should contact Darrel, be has larger pieces too. Maybe you can use a piece to accent a guitar. Regards, Bob
Hi mate. Great looking pen. Have you ever used black CA glue? I use medium black CA to fill up voids prior to my ca finish. Bigger voids I use black milliput resin putty. Cheers
Thank you Tommie, I haven’t used black C/A but that is a good idea. I’ve also seen other turners use C/A with die to more closely match a wood. I have use the Milliput as well as the two part putty wood filler. It’s great to hear from you. Regards, Bob
That's a nice pen 🖊 at 1st I wasn't sure about the blanks because of all the hole. I'm wondering do you think by filling the holes with saw dust from sanding the blank would ruin that blank. I myself have decided you made the right call.
Yes, very beautiful! I recently had to cut down a birch tree in my yard that had died. It had a large burl on the trunk, and I managed to save that for possibilities in the shop. My biggest concern is stabilizing it, for which I will be watching lots of videos. Thanks for another wonderful video. Blessings, Glen
Fantastic looking pen!
Thank you George.

Very nice pen. Beautiful Job. Found it in your store and snagged it. :D

Hello Paul,
Did you see my note on Etsy?
Just want to make sure that’s OK.
@@RJBWoodTurner Yes, I did, and that's fine. Enjoy.
@@paulwaldrop Thank you Paul. Apologies for the inconvenience but the pen will go out Wednesday morning. 😁
Absolutely beautiful 😍😍
Thank you.

That is a good question. Sometimes sawdust is a good filler. I use it for cracks in blanks. For this blank I’m not sure it would have looked proper.
is that raw wood or has it been stabilized
The wood is Raw. It has been dried.

Bob
@@RJBWoodTurner I think cactus juice would help with the voids from the Birdseye's the down side is that you are going to have a heavier pen
@@kstromlundks it might work, I don’t have a vacuum chamber to do the stabilization. That is very expensive so I chose this method.

Bob
