I know you were disappointed about the inlay, but I think you made the right decision. The piece flow. It is beautiful. Love the sqautty body shape.
Congratulations on getting a new daughter, even tho after 9 years….😊
Have a good weekend
Thanks so much!
The latest idea for the Sprague line of T-Shirts for the Seasoned Woodturner - "Epoxy's Always in Charge!" This handsome T is made from extra heavy-duty material so that it can be hidden under when projects go sideways! Available in all the finest men's clothing stores....eventually. Such a beautiful hollow-form! A wonderful example of the natural/organic mixed with the modern. Thanks again, Jim!
That’s a great idea for a shirt, got to get it up and running, lol. Thanks
I cannot put fully into words, just how very beautiful this piece is! 😍
It is absolutely gorgeous, and you Sir, are a genius.
Thank you very much!
I think your work is amazing I watch your videos everyday.i live in Denver Colorado I love your work your an artist for sure thank you for showing the beautiful craftsmanship

I would have loved to see a gold inlay in the middle of the bowl to soften the straight edge of the wood. I guess I’ll have to order my own…😊
Thank you very much!
Gorgeous piece, as always! Congrats to the winners 😊
Thank you! 😊
That piece turned out pretty cool. I always love the blue resins and that hyper shift is just "Damn"! Congrats to the winners.

Congratulations Jim. Quite the milestone. Wow 100,000 subscribers. Here's to the next 100,000. Beautiful hollow form. The colors are awesome. It really shows off the highlight pieces over the last 3 years. It's been a wonderful learning experience for us as well as for yourself. Bravo
Many thanks!
Congratulations on 100k subscribers. Totally deserved. The bowl /vase is beautiful, as is all your work, you're so gifted in wood and resin alike. Edit: Congrats Larry Drape, The ravens wing , Brad Edwards 🎉
Thank you so much!
I would be interested in seeing a tour of the pieces you have chosen for your personal collection. Please!
I actually don’t keep many pieces. Lol. Thanks
Jim - you’re humility, affability, and genuine true character are the main reasons I watch, the awesome projects are just a bonus. There are plenty of other channels out there with similar content, but they just don’t resonate the same with me as yours. As a result, you are the only channel that I never miss and always comment on. Your interaction with the viewers is staggering and I don’t know how/where you find the time to fit it all in. Congrats on the milestone and know that I will follow you all the way to the next and beyond. Thanks for everything you’ve done - you have made me a better turner for it!
Awesome! Thank you very much!
Jim, that is one beautiful piece. I so much like the blue accent and think that it compliments the red box elder very well. Your move to New Brunswick will make the chance of a lifetime as your going to be right in the heart of good hard woods. I look forward to watching more of your production's.
John in Anchorage, Alaska
The only thing I’ll be missing will be walnut, there’s cherry there, but it’s pretty scarce. Thanks, I really appreciate it!
Man o man Jim this piece is soo beautiful and unique, who ever wins this is going to be incredibly blessed you are a true artist, I use the same creation technique as you do in my art ,I let the piece speak to me
Thank you very much!
I feel like what ever you want is what is right. You’re personality comes out quite regularly, so finish as will be normal.
It will be Loved by all..
Thank you very much!
Maybe the natural inlay would have worked on the inside of the rim before you started drilling it out….. it would have been small but it would have been there without interfering with with anything else?
Great piece Jim!
Possibly, thanks!
Congratulations 100k your work is positively hands down breathtakingly beautiful 😍 much ❤😊
Thank you so much 😀
Wowsers Jim. Absolutely amazing gorgeous bowl. Congratulations to the winner! A resin artist, friend of mine just subscribed to your channel this morning. She lives in NB. Take great care ❤️
Thank you kindly, I think she already committed.
Those walnut shells make me think of metal gears. The piece has a steampunk meets nature aspect to it. LOL Great work! It's beautiful!
It has a major steampunk feel. Thanks
Congrats on the 100k, another beautiful piece, it may not have cracked much but it is full of vibrancy and all the little bits make shapes that keep you interested, top turning Jim thanks for the content 👍🏻
Thank you very much!
Congrats Jim on 100k
Thank you very much!
Hi Jim
Yes congrats on hitting 100k subscribers. Although I've only been watch your UA-cam for about 6months, any down-time or me-time I have been through most of your earlier projects -so much so that my family groan when they find me watching them! So although I liked your latest piece you never mention the actual colours but only held the colours up. I realises you have been very busy but for me I would like the colours verbalised like you have been doing. Thanks in advance for doing that.
I had to upload this video twice and for some reason when it was uploaded a second time my voice was missing from the beginning 🤷♂️. Thanks for watching!
Amazingly beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
So cool. As for the white I've found the liquid dyes work 100x better than micas for completely opaque
Yes, I use a liquid white in the video after this one and it’s very brilliant. Thank you very much!
Congrats on 100k. When you are good people will follow.
Thank you very much!
Just beautiful, It's the best one I have seen yet.
Thank you very much!
What great videos! I am so fascinated by the resin and wood turning in general. My husband has done it in the past and I had hoped after he retired he might do more but does not seem to be interested.
It’s not for all. Thanks
I’m in love too! That resin is amazing! Thank you Jim!
Glad you like it, thanks
Congrats on hitting 100k! Been following your work for awhile, I love your positive attitude even when something doesn't go to plan.
Thank you so much!!

Really nice Jim…looks like outer space on the top half. Keep it up and congrats on 100K
Thanks 👍
Absolutely beautiful!! Have you considered using a bowl saver tool? I haven't seen all of your videos, so maybe you have. I was just thinking you could get more out of each piece with less waste. Just a thought to consider.
Yes, I’ve shot a number of videos using the coring system. Couldn’t use it here though. Thanks
All the colours 😍 it's like a miniature coral reef! Best of luck for the future!
Thank you so much 😀
Congrats on the 100K

Thank you!
Absolutely Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
I get why you wanted the inlay, but this piece has enough going on and really didn’t need it. It would have been too much - good call!
Sure wish I had won something, but congratulations to the winners, to you Jim for 100k subscribers, and to your son and his new wife!! Here’s to the next 100k!!!
I know you comment each and every week, hope it pays off for you someday. Thanks, I really appreciate it!
@@SpragueWoodturning Me too!!! Thanks!
Even if it never pays off, thanks for great videos! I love watching them!!!!
Very creative...and beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Fantastic work of art!
Thank you very much!
What type of respirator do you use-a supplied air respirator or a non-supplied respirator? Thank you.
I’ve used the Trend Airshield Pro for years, but I’ve moved to the Powercap which I will do a review on hopefully soon. Thanks
Hey there have been quite a few of your projects where the thermal cracking has fallen short...
What if you were to take a (small) router with a pin bit and some patterns and inlay some shapes for your contrast colors?
Yes, but even a small bit might be too wide. Thanks
I was actually thinking of inleting shapes... not necessarily trying to follow a crack.. Like a Leaf shape or something... That would give you the space to add in your contrasting color?
It is so beautiful 🎉
Thank you very much!
Hi I have just found your channel and have subscribed.
The bowl is stunning and makes me think of a deep sea scene, you do an amazing job❤❤
Thanks for subbing!
I love the work you do
Thank you very much!
I think an would’ve been way too much. I remember when you were first starting out in resin and you were leery of doing it. You talked about seeing other turners use it but just not quite sure about it lol. Now look at you, turned into a pro! The bowl looks awesome.
Thank you very much!
Congratulations theravenswing!
Thanks
Congrats on 100k... I knew you would make it as things are just to good not to make it.... Designer Epoxy
Thank you! Cheers!
It hasn't cracked very much because the actual thickness of the resin was kept low by the stuff inside, keeping the thickness within the maximum recommendation for a lot of the volume.
This resin is only good for 1/4” max depth of pour and should of cracked a lot more than it did. Thanks for watching!
@@SpragueWoodturning Agreed, but that is the manufacturer being cautious, similar to eat by or best by dates on food which have safety margins built in. I'm guessing that 1/4" is the depth at which they can guarantee it won't crack. The thicker you go the more chance it will crack. However, there are so many variables, as you well know from your experiences, that nothing is set in stone :-) That's part of the fun, if everything was guaranteed wouldn't it be boring? 🙂Love your work by the way. It has inspired me to have a go with old resin I have (used to do a lot of wet carbon fibre layup but have since found prepreg carbon) but will have to restrict my experiments to small stuff as my vacuum pot is small.
awesome piece I love it! I sure enjoy watching you do your magic haha
Thank you very much!
What might have caused that hole visible at 27:23?
Looks like one of the small half moon resin pieces fell out, thanks!
The designer epoxy seems really nice. Have you had any hazing or yellowing over time? Im wanting to do some cutting boards.
I’ve only been working with it for three years and haven’t noticed any yellowing or hazing. With that said, all epoxy will yellow over time, especially if it’s placed in the sun. DE does have UV inhibitors in it, but it’s never a good idea to place epoxy pieces in the sun and if it’s mixed with colors you won’t see the yellowing in the future. This is why you don’t see many clear pieces on my channel. Thanks for watching!
Wow…. Awesome choice for the 100 K giveaway. You’re gonna have to use hyper shift every time because now the ones without the hyper shift will seem boring.
You might be right. Thank you so much!
Ahahahaha, the ONE time you want thermal cracking it doesn't do it lol. The resin gods love to mess with you.
Just about every time, lol. Thanks
The piece would look too busy with an inlay.
Agreed, thanks!

Great job on 100,000. I just found your channel two day ago and I love it.
Awesome! Thank you! Welcome aboard!
A beautiful piece, Jim. Congrats on 100k. Look forward to many more videos.
More to come! Thank you very much!
That's really beautiful. I'm getting some ideas that I will shoot you an email
Ok, thanks!
I just got a response to my comment saying “I’m a winner” with a number to text which I immediately flagged as spam. They should have an option of “crook/fraud” to choose instead of just spam. 😊
Designer Epoxy. Sandpaper
Thank you very much! I have the ability to block them and do that as well.
Congratulations to the winners! Brad, if you don’t like this hollow form piece, you can send it to me!!! 😆
Lol. Thank you very much!
Designer Epoxy
Thanks
I agree, this is your best project yet. My only complaint is that I wasn’t the person who won it. Lol
I’m sure Brad and his family will treasure it. It truly is a special piece.
Congratulations Jim, 100,000 subscribers is quite a feat. A goal you worked hard to obtain. Congratulations Jim, I’m sure, like I, that everyone Canada is proud of you and your achievement.
Wow! Thank you so much!
Congratulations Jim. You're most deserving of a 100K subscribers. The giveaway bowl was absolutely outstanding. As a fellow Canadian I feel a sense of pride in your success. Again congratulations on your accomplishments. 🎉🥂🍾👏
My wife and I absolutely love your videos. We watch them every night before we go to bed and are just mesmerized by your talents. Thanks for all you do! This piece is gorgeous!
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
I love pine cones and collect them! You have given me fun ideas! Learning new ideas from you from every video. Never heard of Kintsugi before. Designer Epoxy seems like the way to go!
This piece is so beautiful! I love it! ❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing your talents. I have shared your videos on my Facebook and told people to subscribe!
That looks like a fishbowl of plenty! Just a plethora of colors and textures, truely a work of art!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much 😀
What an absolute beauty. Looks a little steampunk, they look like cogs lol. Stunning, love it. Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧
It totally does! Thanks
I was thinking steampunk too. Very cog like.
You are so correct! It's the steam punk piece!!! 😍
I agree! It's also giving me "Bottom of the ocean" vibes, too.
Getting definite steampunk vibes from this. It would make for a beautiful diamond painting pen.
It certainly has those vibes. Thanks
Yes, Steam Punk is what I originally thought also!
It looks amazing. The colors, especially the sapphire blue are fantastic! It may not be what you had in mind when you started; however, it’s a huge success!!
Thank you so much!
