Only discovered Tool in the last 5 years, and going back into their back catalogue has been a revelation. I totally agree with you in that if you are a fan of music then Tool is a natural path to take. Their musicianship is second to none, and oh yeah it helps to have quite possibly the greatest drummer that ever lived.
Tool is undoubtedly the best band ever. Each and every musician in the band is incredibly professional. Each and every song has deep lyrical meaning and complex meters unlike the usual money grab music about a girl.
For me to but I also recognize that thats a statement thats subjective like who's the greatest basketball player or athlete. The criteria is different for everybody.
57 year old fan of rock music, never heard another band like this in my life And I've been saying it for almost 28 years, To me, this is the pinnacle of music!
💯 agree. But it does suck because I know we try to find another band that comes close and it hasn't happened yet. They've just ruined all other music for me
I know some Tool, but I'm learning too. This one is new for me. As usual I am blown away. Not sure when to breathe but I feel so alive when there's some Tool in my ear.
I totally agree with a ton of the comments below, mostly that 57 year old. I'm 49 turning 50 soon and I know there's a good chance that I'll never hear another band as creative and deep as TOOL. I was fortunate enough to have met the entire band at small venue in Jacksonville NC in 1992. Their music changed my world back then and continues to do so today. They are the Pink Floyd of today. Great reaction Sir! keep'em coming
This track makes people speechless. I’m told they play this song in 21 plus lyrical genius. Oh and it goes for 15 minutes and it felt like 5 minutes. 🤘🏻🌀
I think they are the best band in the human history, all four men are masters of their trade, and their music is made to make you think about yourself in the world you live in. I’ve been listening to them since 1993 and you will enjoy everything in their small collection. That is my only complaint about tool is there discography is so limited.
Antic Hay by Aldous Huxley is a century old this year. "Seven million people, each one of whom thinks himself quite as important as each of us does. Millions of them are now sleeping in an empested atmosphere." [ Seven Empest ]
imo, you're not wrong. Tool is the best band. #NailedIt lol keep going, spiral out. listen to the entire discography, ill be here for it and so will the rest of the tool army. much love man.
Easily one of the most talented guitar solos ever played, have to keep in mind that the whole band contributes to each other to accomplish these magical moments in the music history💪
This track is the band showing off :) Seeing someone trying to review it and find the rhythm that is constantly changing is always fun. Hope you enjoyed it!
Rage at society? Aenima Trip? 3rd eye Explore consciousness? Parabol/Parabola (two tracks, one song) Cry? Wings for Marie/10,000 days (also one song on two tracks) There’s also A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, both different in their own way, but with MJK on lead vocals.
You have to do Descending off this album, it's my fave Tool song! The lyrics are succinct but deep, the music is fire and like you said, this particular song could be the theme of a hit sci fi movie, it has such a vibe. I would love to see you react to it!
This song always amps me up like I'm about to slay some man eating titans (probably would get eaten first round, no doubt... But I'd die with valor in my heart listening to this shit god damnit). Seriously, if you listen in a particular alerted state, you'll feel floaty and tingly. Tool some voodoo witchcraft shit, in all the best ways, for the good of humanity type of way I guess. Maynard admitted pretty early on and expressly that he sold his soul to make a record, maybe to be an excellent musician. Who knows, too high and numb to be sensible.
This song keeps punching you in the face so you try to cover your face but then it's stabbing you in the throat so you curl up into a ball and it just starts pounding you all over, then suddenly you're, like, "Wait...I...LOVE THIS," and then you just let it beat the shit outta you for 15 more minutes.
While there is some music that I enjoy more than Tool, they have by far the most universal appeal out of any band I enjoy as much as I do them. God-tier band without a doubt.
All tool songs make me look inward as opposed to placing meaning to one thing. The lyrics seem to apply to all points of life for most people in my opinion. You have great reactions! Thank you for your passion
I have watched all the TOOL reactions of yours up until this one and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about how this one would go. Its a lot in every way imaginable. Its all over the place and such a long song, its very easy to lose yourself along the way. I am no longer skeptical, at all. Outstanding is an understatement. This is/was impressive. Thank you, from one human to another, I appreciate you. 🌀♾️🌀
I listened to Tool exclusively for 7 days straight, and to be honest, all other music seemed lacking, I’m a huge audiophile and Tool is next next next level, same as Pink Floyd imho.
30+ year fan of Tool. No other band compares, they are the best band of my lifetime. #Toolforever (my opinion about this song is that it is political towards a particular person but that's just my opinion).
That's the problem with the band. They are the best band like you said....so it's only downhill from here for all other bands 😂. Tool is my literal bar for music
I think it's time you do Intension and Right in Two together, no pauses in-between. This will give you a real taste of just how introspective and truly masterful they are. Once you do this I'd say start at the beginning and go thru their entire discography, seriously, could be life changing..
Has anyone pointed out. The temp-est must be just that. 7empest??? 7 syllables. Taylor Shift (yeah I spelled it that was on purpose) still crying on her G5 while drinking Maynards wine
TOOL is better than your favorite band!! 🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽🔥 The "off beat" you were getting is because the intro (and, I think, the outro) is in 9/8 time. That gives you that extra eighth note that you're not used to in standard 4/4 time. However, that time signature is not the same throughout the song. I haven't fully analysed it, but most of the song is in 8/8, which is similar to 4/4. They kinda maintain the 9/8 feel with syncopated accents, which is one of their trademarks. 👍🏽😁
Not disagreeing with you (I have little musical education) but I was under the impression there was a “7” in the title because most of this song was in seven
Promise this is my last comment on this. 19:30 It's amazing a song with limited lyrics is able to invoke so much emotion. Doing that during the part thats basically an instrumental is even more crazy.
Tool is an outright spiritual experience. Just sucks waiting forever between albums. And i have never heard another band that their music keeps taking on another life when i revisit it. Unlike anything else out there.
A tem pest must be just that = 7 and yes the music describes a violent storm. Master level music. 15 minutes goes by quick. Try not to listen to it again if you can.
This was top of the list? Interesting 🤔 They did win their latest Grammy for this, but most probably wouldn't have it their top 10. Great song but they are ALL GREAT. Not even the best song on this album. Probably 3rd on the album.
I can't wait to watch your reaction to "Descending" - Best track they've ever laid down. Period. Life-long fan at the age of 55 and it just doesn't get any better......
This song won Tool their 4th Grammy for Best Metal Performance back in 2020.
GOAT band, nuff said.
Before Tempest I didn't think this was possible. Sound itself can translate emotion and meaning even without words. Beautiful doesn't describe it.
Adam's guitar is cinematic 🎥🔥🔥🔥
Their ENTIRE 30 year discography is full of masterful compositions...Throw a blind dart and you'll hit one.
If you love this, you'll absolutely LOVE Descending by Tool. It's a bit softer but very dramatic, more melodic. It's a true masterpiece.
Tool is undoubtedly the best band ever. Each and every musician in the band is incredibly professional. Each and every song has deep lyrical meaning and complex meters unlike the usual money grab music about a girl.
And that is a scientific fact
Lol awesomesauce
For me to but I also recognize that thats a statement thats subjective like who's the greatest basketball player or athlete. The criteria is different for everybody.
No question. Undeniably the greatest band ever.
You're not wrong
The squeal at the end of the solo accompanied by the double kick drum roll into the next segment is the slickest shit I ever heard lol
57 year old fan of rock music, never heard another band like this in my life
And I've been saying it for almost 28 years, To me, this is the pinnacle of music!
58 here i agree
💯
💯 agree. But it does suck because I know we try to find another band that comes close and it hasn't happened yet. They've just ruined all other music for me
@Rosetta Stoned If we had 2 more lifetimes, I don't think we'd find another band like this!
@@RosettaStoned462 Same for me. Everything else just sounds so bland in comparison.
TOOL IS FOREVER
Must have heared this track over a 100 times and it never fails to amaze me
I know some Tool, but I'm learning too. This one is new for me. As usual I am blown away. Not sure when to breathe but I feel so alive when there's some Tool in my ear.
I forget just how badass this track is. Then I see someone hear it for the first time. It all comes flooding back.
One of the best reactions ever . You made me feel like i heard it for the first time .
I totally agree with a ton of the comments below, mostly that 57 year old. I'm 49 turning 50 soon and I know there's a good chance that I'll never hear another band as creative and deep as TOOL. Great reaction Sir! keep'em coming
😮 you meet them in 92? That’s awesome 🎉
why this isn't the nations most listened to and played song right now. is beyond me. particularly with the state of things.
Perfectionists beyond description and explanation. How can this be? Whomever informs Tool must be related to God.
This track makes people speechless. I’m told they play this song in 21 plus lyrical genius. Oh and it goes for 15 minutes and it felt like 5 minutes. 🤘🏻🌀
TOOL IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE GREATEST!!!😎🤟🏼

💯
Love seeing people's pure bewilderment on their faces when reacting to TOOL
When i listen to this song only one person comes to mind. I think this time of year we can imagine who that is.
Antic Hay by Aldous Huxley is a century old this year.
"Seven million people, each one of whom thinks himself quite as important as each of us does. Millions of them are now sleeping in an empested atmosphere."

Never say sorry if u listen TOOL >D
Do the rest of the album my friend! Every song is just as much an epic masterpiece as this one… bless this immunity 💉
descending next?
Guitar, bass, and drums don't get any better than this. This is the absolute pinnacle.
Listen to Descending! It’s off the same album. It’s up there for most tool fans. And yes you’re 100% right. They are the best band 😉
Descending and Pneuma are my favorites. You know an album is fantastic when a Grammy winning banger like this isn't even the best on the album (IMO)!
imo, you're not wrong. Tool is the best band. #NailedIt lol
keep going, spiral out. listen to the entire discography, ill be here for it and so will the rest of the tool army. much love man.
Tool is the best band.
Easily one of the most talented guitar solos ever played, have to keep in mind that the whole band contributes to each other to accomplish these magical moments in the music history💪
Check out in the very beginning how the drums play a melody over the guitar and a few bars later they trade the timing off. Shits wild man
Downloaded this cd the day it was released on iTunes and me being a Tool fan instantly fell in love with it especially this song
Peace to you friend!
💪✌️🤘🇨🇦

Best in my book
Hell yes its epic that's why it won a Grammy rock song of the year!
You have to do Descending off this album, it's my fave Tool song! The lyrics are succinct but deep, the music is fire and like you said, this particular song could be the theme of a hit sci fi movie, it has such a vibe. I would love to see you react to it!
TOOL the GOAT 🌀🌀🌀
This song always amps me up like I'm about to slay some man eating titans (probably would get eaten first round, no doubt... But I'd die with valor in my heart listening to this shit god damnit). Lyrical and Sonic wizardry!
14:37 that riff just sound so nice
Absolutely loved this man. Well done. Excellent reaction. I had chills the entire time. Thank you. Please keep the Tool journey goin. Fuck. Yes.

AGREED!!!!!! 100%
I think vicarious is next bro! that shits a banger and also reflects on human nature
Love it dawg...welcome to the army
💯
Earlier Tool is more anger/Harder.my favorite Album to this day is still Underow
While there is some music that I enjoy more than Tool, they have by far the most universal appeal out of any band I enjoy as much as I do them. God-tier band without a doubt.
“I don’t know what’s going on” -FTB. 😂
You'll find lots of Tool songs have strong messages, though they are cleverly crafted to be open to individual interpretation.
They give unconditional music. Love em
All tool songs make me look inward as opposed to placing meaning to one thing. The lyrics seem to apply to all points of life for most people in my opinion. You have great reactions! Thank you for your passion

That's the problem with the band. They are the best band like you said....so it's only downhill from here for all other bands 😂. Tool is my literal bar for music
Not many people get the Tool pattern, but you got it on point bruh. Keep it coming mate 🤘🤘🤘
I think it's time you do Intension and Right in Two together, no pauses in-between. This will give you a real taste of just how introspective and truly masterful they are. Once you do this I'd say start at the beginning and go thru their entire discography, seriously, could be life changing..
Yes to all of this Right in Two is in my top 3.
Beautiful
Like I said. DONALD TRUMP!
It is no wonder some Tool fans shows almost religious fanaticism when this is their gospel. :D
😂 true
Has anyone pointed out. The temp-est must be just that. 7empest??? 7 syllables. Taylor Shift (yeah I spelled it that was on purpose) still crying on her G5 while drinking Maynards wine
This is clearly Adams song just listening to that '79 gibson sing
LIsten to AEnema, he is pissed at a whole state.. lol A little different then what youve heard.
See you down in Arizona Bay!
Subbed rite thar!
TOOL is better than your favorite band!! 🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽🔥

Polyrhythms AF!!!
Were those the 99 Woodstock riots?

Tool is a way of being not a band. No not a rush band
Sorry to say, but this track ia about DT, period.
No matter what anyone else says, 7empest & Pneuma > Descending
Trump🤬🤬🤬🤬
I have a song for you that I didn't see you do a reaction video to yet, Listen to Linkin Park/Jay Z Numb Encore
This was top of the list? Interesting 🤔 They did win their latest Grammy for this, but most probably wouldn't have it their top 10. Great song but they are ALL GREAT. Not even the best song on this album. Probably 3rd on the album.
