I love that a 61 year old man that loves tool is involved enough in the community to know that this is “FIRE”. Tool transcends generational gaps. The tool army are some of the most aware people on the planet. And I’d stand by that any day. An understanding of what is outside of ourselves. It’s humbling.
The talent of the 4 artists is ridiculous. Especially when you factor in there age!! Danny at 58!! Absolutely the best music these ears have ever heard ❤
i love how they introduce several distinct phrases at the beginning of these song and at the end they replaying them but rephrased or so integrated with somthing else so you don't immediately recognize it but it still feels so right
BTW there isn't a bad Tool song. You'll enjoy them all. There is no band quite like them and I'm so thankful that this band exists while I've been alive.
You just spiraled out, my dude. You got lost in the music the way any of us TOOL fans have for years. You definitely get this band! Editing: I think you need to do TOOL - Disposition/Reflection/Triad. It’s a trilogy. I think after the way this made you feel, it’s time. Find a video that has them together. There is a video version not recommended though I forget which one it is.
DEF have to do the trilogy off Lateralus Album!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you have Tool lyrics on your phone, tab, comp, or whatever so you can truly understand Everything they're about. We know how ridiculous they are musically but the lyrics are next level shit and can get lost in the shuffle if you aren't familiar with em
Those levels are just different ways of emphasizing the groove. Its all about the groove. Its basically the same grove through out but the finesse lies in the build up, crescendo and resolution around it. There's a reason why music like this takes so long to create. Imagine all the ways the different parts of this track didn't make it to the final version of the song. Adam Jones the guitarist is not known for his flashy or fancy fingers guitar style but when it comes to all the moments when you hear absolute ear screeching pandemonium and soft delicate sweetness, you can appreciate the well thought out approach. Dont even get me started with Danny Carey the drummer, the man is an absolute beast with effortless fluidity and gnarly syncopation. The whole band is unofficially the masters of there domain. There is a reason why its almost to much to take in at one time. Rarely does any music in modern times require so much availability to even take it all in. One of those things where people who are looking for a quick fix will never get it but those who are patient and emotionally capable will certainly feast in the Tool domain. Cheers mate. Happy new year.
Hey man I just troll around UA-cam finding UA-cam reactions to Tool and the like, and came across you. It's great to see people really enjoy this music. It seems like you're still relatively new to their music thus far. If you want future songs to listen to from them, you would most certainly like 'Invincible', 'Jambi', and 'Lateralus'. Honestly, you can't go wrong with much of their music, but I'd start with those. Also, I think you have it right with just sticking to their lyrics videos. The official videos for their songs are a whole head-trip of their own.
So glad you’re exploring the pure genius that is tool!❤️ the meanings behind what they do will blow your mind! Like 46&2 is based on Carl Jungs theory look into it it will blow your mind. As well as the mathematical philosophy of laturalus it goes as deep as the ART in the cover. It is so so much more than just music. Maynard is another level of genius.❤️❤️❤️
You're from the Nati dude? That's awesome, I moved out of Walnut Hills about 20 years ago! Born and raised in Norwood of all places. Glad you liked the Tool man. I just drove 1000 miles to see them with friends and family about a week ago at Riverfront Colusium or whatever the fuck it's called now. Hope you got to catch them live, nothing in the world like a Tool concert. Not my favorite off the new album 7empest, but a solid track regardless. Invincible, Decending, and Pneuma all hit me much harder. Keep em coming man and thanks for posting!
Glad you're enjoying this masterwork so much. Just wanted to clarify the name of the song is "Tempest" Maynard just used a 7 instead to tie in with a theme in the album.
Loved your reaction, very organic and open minded. Do "The Pot" next from their previous album. The singer replaced the T in tempest with 7 because it's been a significant/recurring number in his life recently.
I take back everything I said. THIS is the perfect reaction video in my book! I'm jamming out and can hear everything you say in real-time instead of the stop and starts. Granted, stop and starts are needed when breaking things down, but this is just an awesome pure reaction! OK, take it or leave it... Do some of your reactions straight live like this and then do a breakdown afterward. That's something I've never seen anyone do. If you don't do it then I will. :-)
Great great great reaction my man! And must say a thanks for reacting to this one as well. Some would see the run time of the song and run the other way. Keep rocking and Spiral Out! \m/
Many people struggled with that title.. 7empest.... I always think this sounds much like a tempest.. a surging storm that builds and thrashes all around
I have to say this is the best Tool song I have heard so far, thanks for sharing this with us! You might like to hear something else, Tool "46&2"/O'Keefe Music Foundation. This is kids covering the song by Tool, they are amazing. Another one they do is Iron Maiden "Number of the Beast"/O'Keefe Music Foundation, the singer on this one is off the charts. Please give them a try.
I liked that you didn't interrupt the music to comment. And your voice stays in the background of the music. A possible improvement, the use of captions for your comments, as sometimes is hard to get them
You don’t “listen” to TOOL... you experience them... each and every time and this is coming from someone who got to see them live way back during the Undertow tour!
I swear you just heard the length of audio of an entire pop album, at least four songs in one recording. Fear Inoculum had a better first week that Kanye's latest offering
Absolutely, My favorite band. No one live will ever compare. I've seen them 3 times now. And been to many different concerts many different genre's. They are also number 1 because they strive for perfection lol it's a little more expensive but you will never be let down with them and always walk away feeling great
I know I definitely called it seven-empest at first. Hell, sometimes I still do. You should probably do Descending now! The guitars there are beautiful.
Saw you reacted to Jambi recently. You'll love Right In Two and Vicarious from the same album, 10,000 Days. Two absolute masterpieces. Ænema (from the album Ænima) is another you'll surely appreciate.
If you think you like Tool, and want to really experience them, IMO start from the beginning and follow the progression of albums. Opiate > Undertow > Aenima > Lateralus > 10,000 Days > Fear Inoculum. Will blow you away. Just my 2cents
It is pronounced "tempest" and as far as I'm aware the 7 in the title refers to the song being primarily composed in different divisions within 21/8, such as 3 groups of 7 or 7 groups of 3, alternating 5/4 + 11/8, etc. but essentially it's all based around divisions or multiplicities of 7. I don't know how in line that is with their actual reasoning for the title, but that would be my guess.

Yeah, the track is pronounced tempest, but as a joke they named it 7empest because they realized that in numerology the number 7 played a huge role in this album.
"This is a visual work of art in my head"... I'm not sure a truer description of Tool can be uttered.
This song makes you go into other thoughts while listening at same time. 🤙🤘TOOL
Ear candy!! The musicianship is ridiculous. I'm 61 years old and this is fire. Epic.

"They make me feel like I could teleport."
That may be one of the greatest/funniest comments I've heard about Tool.
“They’re like an outer space rock group or something”. Yes they are my friend.
i love how they introduce several distinct phrases at the beginning of these song and at the end they replaying them but rephrased or so integrated with somthing else so you don't immediately recognize it but it still feels so right

“Some kinda outer space rock or something” - I dig that you took it in that way. 🤘
100% THAT WAS A GREAT EXPLENATION HAHAHAHA
Tool is the best modern band period. Wonderful to ses newbies falling into the spiral.
10,000 days will give you the shivers! You must do it dude! It's amazing! Xx
Great reaction. You get Tool! It's so awesome and a beautiful thing to see their fanbase expand.

Pure tribal music by masters of the craft. Their music is additive and very meaningful.
Tools music is a spiritual experience.
A reviewer that doesn't stop the song and enjoys the music??? Mind blown. And your now in the Tool family. Liked and subscribed!! Mazel tov
Tool is touring now, Singer! We will be checking them out next year in New Orleans! Always a great show!
"I feel like I can teleport"
....bro,....you don't even know how spot on you are with that comment!

“They like outer space rock”!!!!! Yasss!
Great reaction! I love watching people discover Tool, my favorite band for decades!!
Welcome, we're brothers in Tool. You're family now

“They make me feel like I could teleport.” 🌀 🤘🏽😂🤘🏽
Masters of tension build release and resoltuion, and polyrhythms
Hahaha!
You nailed it! Outer space... teleportation...
Tool takes you on a journey into a different dimension.
one of the greatest rock n metal drummers of all time dude. welcome to the rabbit hole....
You get it!!! You gotta react to more Tool.
Just fyi the drummer's name is Danny Carey and he's pretty widely considered one of the (if not the )best drummers in the world.
I saw them live a few weeks ago. Amazing live show

A spiritual awakening called Tool!
Awesome reaction my man, react to TOOL - Right in Two
this song took Adam Jones 13 years to create,He said its his best work to date
Fact - the chorus riff was created back in 1995 .. cheer's

That's freaking dope man!
seen them 7 times...keep getting better ever time.🤘
From canada, welcome to our tool family! Cheers friend!🤙🤘
7 is a reference to a time signature found a lot in this song and the album in general.
Glad you're enjoying this masterwork so much. Just wanted to clarify the name of the song is "Tempest" Maynard just used a 7 instead to tie in with a theme in the album.
May blow your mind to know that the Drummer is 58 years old
This was great reaction. Do more! Do all from this album.
Loved your reaction, very organic and open minded. Do "The Pot" next from their previous album. The singer replaced the T in tempest with 7 because it's been a significant/recurring number in his life recently.
Also, the term "empest" fits into the theme of the album. Layers, upon layers. I love it.
Crow Bear empest is not a word. The song is just Tempest with a 7 replacing the T
@@FavianTubeX Argue with the dictionary. www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/empest

For me Tempest is an old school example of Tool from the Undertow days, one of my favorites!
"I feel like I could teleport" - when the Tool hits
Many people struggled with that title.. 7empest.... I always think this sounds much like a tempest.. a surging storm that builds and thrashes all around
Its in the title

My personal favourite off the album. There’s nothing in this world like Tool
The transition at 14:26 gets me every time
"The Musicality of it all is like... God" ………………………. right you are Sir, welcome to the Spiral ;)
Might take me 10 years to figure out all the different time signatures in this song.
"That made me feel like I could teleport."
You got to do Invincible next
OneOverPrime Also, Invincible is pretty good. 🙃
YES
My personal interpretation of Invincible is that it’s about aging. (I’m about the same age as the members in tool.)
Timothy Reff I think Invincible is about the denial of aging and Descending is the acceptance.
Then... Lateralus
16:55 enjoin the spiral face.
I liked that you didn't interrupt the music to comment. And your voice stays in the background of the music. A possible improvement, the use of captions for your comments, as sometimes is hard to get them
Pneuma from this album!
I second that!
3rd
46 & 2nd that
If you want more Tool’s groove then Jambi next for sure!
You don’t “listen” to TOOL... you experience them... each and every time and this is coming from someone who got to see them live way back during the Undertow tour!
"Visual work of art" is enough said. My pre sleep music, puts me in a zone

The Grudge
Lateralus
Push It (Live from Salival)
Disposition/Reflection/Triad ✨
They did a cover of a Led Zeppelin song No Quarter which frankly is not one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs but it's worth a listen I like it
“I heard cookies and creme... “ totally a 2019 Tool Reaction
Ur karmas cookies and creams

I subscribed now you have to do more tool including old tool!!
Ay you should make the visual work of art this song made in your head
Like draw it or paint it or something
According to Adam Jones the guitarist, it is a 7 because of the 7/8 timing.
Although Adam's main time signature is 21/16
Danny and justin alternate 20/16 and 22/16 Adam 21/16 21/16 + 21/16= 42/32 , 22/16 + 20/6 = 42/32
The ending really sounds like the song Sway by Lost Prophets
Lost Prophets now that is a band i haven't heard in a long while...good stuff=)
@@TheUpperbutt I stopped listening to Lost Prophets as soon as the lead singer was arrested for molesting children
You have to do Descending. It will melt your brain....🤘
The 7 is like another character in some other alphabet kinda like in Ænima
tool is legendary! i am sorry to insult the band with such a weak word, but i dont think there is a word that is on their level.
Arron Knox “Spiritually Transcendental” maybe... I get it, it’s tough to put a word on that which is TOOL.
I'm a little offended that you put tool on legendary status. Their higher then that ;)
I've never watched somebody awaken before
You have to do Hercules Muses Medley, the one with the men
Bruh don't clean up the cussing. Be raw, the way you cuss at the videos is one of the reasons you're my favorite.

It's Tempest btw.
Sorry you missed the concert. Nice reaction though.
