- Today we have a 2009 Acura TL that has a soft brake pedal. We determine the issue to be from a faulty ABS module and walk you through the replacement process. This should be the same procedure on 2009 Acura TL, 2010 Acura TL, 2011 Acura TL, 2012 Acura TL, 2013 Acura TL, and 2014 Acura TL.

Success! I got the ABS module replaced with a used one as well for about $80! The car is braking as good as new. Thanks for your expertise.
Awesome. Congratulations!
the part number was same or just pass for year and model ?
Great Video you covered everything. Bleeding the unit before the wheels was something I didn't think about
Great video! Anyway I can get in contact with you and your team?

Well, that was incredibly helpful. I think I will be able to do this job myself. It seemed like it was going to be a daunting task. This looks like a walk in the park (I assume; my experience will make this needlessly longer). Do you think rebuilding an ABS module is a good idea?
Thanks. I guess it depends on your comfort level with hydraulics. I have never done it with brakes and probably never would unless I absolutely had to. I’ve done it in tractor hydraulic assemblies before and have learned that I don’t particularly care for it.
@@automotiveinsight Oh, I will be having someone else do it no doubt. I don't know if it'd be better to fix a broken part or get a used one as you did here. Fixing seems financially feasible.
@@automotiveinsight Quick question. Why does the brake fluid have to be drained? Is it to prevent brake fluid from coming out of the lines to the pump motor?
on ebay they often write in the description that the part number must match exactly and I can’t find the same part number for the ABS module as mine. Is this number of letters and numbers really supposed to match exactly or is it just a precaution from the sellers and I can rely on the year and engine's type
I have a 2009 Acura TL as well and I currently throwing the 84-1 ABS DTL light I'm guessing this is my fix, Will I need any sort of two-way communication computer to reprogram the new module or will bleeding it be sufficient and can I just vacuum bleed from the calipers I rarely have a helper
Edited for spelling and punctuation mistakes
Lol I commented before I watched the last minute of the video 😂 that answered my last question
If I need to just replace the hydraulic side can I use my original computer module and not have any issue with programming?
I need to replace my abs hydraulic module. My mechanic said if I get a used one there is a trick involved with switching the computer or something?
