There are some folks out there who live day to day and so cut off from the rest of the world they have no idea what was, has or is in current events. That's simple living to some, but having a home, growing your own food / medicines and just everyday life is hard work. I remember when mom only went to the store for flour (25lb bag of Robin Hood), sugar and yeast. Of course there were some other items like canning lids, sewing thread, dress material. Her and my grandmother did it all. We went barefoot in summer, saved up for a new pair of shoes for school and winter time wore rubber goulashes over them for protection against the foul weather. We have too much nowadays. Kids no longer look forward to saving up for things, it's all instant gratification. I miss those days dearly, gone are the old folks who tried to teach us and now we're left with only a few memories. Appreciate what you have. If you have plenty, share and give till it hurts. Is good to be humble.
Come the end of the world, this guy gets very popular everybody needs to learn👍👍👍👍
A good item to have for 18th Century Reenactors. Had one of these made at Fishkill Supply Depot in Fishkill, NY. I am with the 5TH NY Regiment who has used it a few times. LOL! You even used the bare feet with building, good for you. Using logs inside the mold is a good idea.
Man, you sure are A gifted hard-working man everything you do it’s heavy duty And weld built ,thank you for sharing your many talents it’s a blessing to see you built things from your own imagination .God has richly Bless you ,Aman.
Building, cooking, chopping wood, scouting the forest...all are excellent videos. My wife and I watch each and every one, thanks for posting this.
Шон, восхищён твоей работой. Поучительно, здорово.
After I saw the construction of the oven, it inspired me to build an oven at home. My congratulations for the achievement obtained.
Shawn you remind me so much of my dad he did so much, stayed busy all the time and loved to build and restore things, fewer and fewer like him and you each generation and I blame that on society, we have let our core values and work ethics slip. I thank you for showing people there is another way and I hope this inspires them to follow in your foot steps.
WOW>>>>>>>>>>>> everything a person could want---a pizza oven in the woods!
The most beautiful oven I've ever seen ..! Ingenious solution for baking ...
Videos like this should have a love button to click
We love hearing from you! All your footage is enjoyable! Beautiful scenery always! ❤️❤️❤️
I really like how the earthen oven turned out. You have done a terrific job on your shelter for the oven and your house. Going to look at a few back episodes I missed. Keep up the good work.
On a 0°F day what a joy to see the warn sun and birds singing. I guess there is hope. Also I've watched the complete series but this was the first time I noticed the bear paw design. Nice touch. Thanks for posting on such a cold day.
I admire your perseverance.
I love how you incorporate artist touches to your functional work. Love the bear claw. I enjoy working with wood and other natural elements to create functional art.
I have seen this before when you first made the oven, but I enjoyed watching it again. Actually I could watch all your videos again. I find them very calming, interesting and informative, not to mention that I love the fact your off the grid!
I do look forward to any videos by Shawn, he walks the walk for sure! Kudos
Love the video Sean love the cooking videos and love when you have people over at the cabin
What's not to like😊 you build an oven and cook the food😋 now that's what I call a handyman. Loved watching ..... very entertaining.
Yes I watched you make this amazing earthen oven ! It was a lot of work and it came out great ! Your different camera views are amazing too ! Thank you !
Marvellous editing ...👍🏻 just love your vlogs Shawn ... soo interesting ...love from California
My second time around, some nuances that I missed the first time. Very clever design, like the patterns of the wood ends. GOOD STUFF
Thank You Shawn. Give a big hug to Cali. Mike and Ronnie
Love everything My Self Reliance.
Wow, you couldn't have built it better! Beautiful job.
One thing, we had Goldie, looked very much like Cali(spelling)? And was so much of a friend. Left us about 15 years ago and broke hearts. Now I have a little “tiger” kitty named Daisy. My BEST friend. You are doing a dream you know. I wish I was there each episode you post. Keep it up my friend. Have to go see how you are doing on sauna:)
You are definately an artist!!!
Thanks Shawn! I really like the organization of your videos and the option to look at the condensed versions.

Still awesome. All the things you build and think of building. 👍🏼 Shawn you can count on me watching all your videos.

Incredible work...
love these combined summary videos of your builds. Your cabin build consolidation is still my fav but really enjoy this one too.
It was so nice to watch this shortened version of the oven build! I remember the difficulty you had drying the oven out, the food coming out of the oven makes you forget the hurdles you encountered! Great video Shawn & thanks for making and sharing!
Absolutely inspiring to watch. Mouthwatering ending 👍👍👍
Love all of your building videos...you are very talented. It seems so peaceful there. Looking forward to more videos
As a loyal subscriber, I had seen this previously in all of your videos, this was a great compilation of the building of this amazing oven. It reminds me that you are not afraid to show your hiccups in the processes of building this amazing homestead. Thank you for another great video!🌲

Great project.Nothing like clay oven to get a real flavor of food.
I love the concrete bottom👍and that clay thing looks cool too.
Now that’s an awesome oven!
It was great to watch Evan your woodworks beautiful job as well
Well done
Thanks for your videos. You inspired me to get more outside and do some little bushcrafting with my 2 year old daughter.
In it's pure form of just the build to the finished bread n Turkey presentations... The build video is in it's self, captivating! I watched earlier as you did other things along with the build, n enjoyed it, but, this view was much more in-depth " build", I really learned more from this style! Thanks! ATB from sunny Wintergarden,Florida😎👍!
Well that's my dream man. He can do so much things he's very intelligent.
Great format. Very educational to see how it is done. Thank you very much.
That is awesome.. well done ..love your videos
Truely inspiring! Heading out to finush my oven!
I remember in the past on my grandmother's homestead she would do a "bread bake" to take advantage of the fuel necessary to heat the oven. She would make several loaves plus about 1/2 loaf extra dough. She used the extra as a timer. When the oven was ready, she raked out the fire, shoved the loaves in then the extra dough was used as a gasket around the door. When the dough of the gasket was done, so were all the loaves. We kids used to grab the gasket dough and munch on it. It was a bit cindery, but we loved it.
Cooking at up to 800+ is great fun. I've worked on every aspect of building an oven, cooked in several but have never done one from start to finish. I like your approach to using what's on hand for a build. Someday...
Great to re-watch this ... that was when I had first found the channel... then I was hooked. Thanks Shawn.. greetings from Los Angeles.
Nice work man👍
Wonderful!
I made a large pizza spatula out of an old circular saw blade.
Stainless. Thin. Easy to work with. VERY USEFUL tool from repurposed, normally discarded things.
I would love to see if anyone else has done something similar.
shawn love your videos
I definitely want one of those ovens.
I saw the original video but this was way better.Besides,I saw every other rerun back when I watched TV. Yours are far better.!
Thanks.
Just blows my mind how talented you are not everyone can do this type of stuff if they could then we would all be building our own lol
Great video. Extremely helpful

Great Effort mate !
Every time I go back and watch this. I’m in total aw of the turkey. I can actually smell it. Would have loved just to be there and watch. The sharp knife slowly, oh so gently. Slice into that succulent bird. Looked like it just feel apart. Looking forward to the finishing touches on the sauna. Great job as always...
I didn't mind seeing it build again Shawn. Thank you for sharing this with us. 👍😁
Excellent Shawn, I ran the build in 2x speed and it was very enjoyable.. Peace Brother
Fantastic job and very good video.
I, for one, prefer your videos that include "cabin life" along with your construction, fishing or exploring activities. But I understand that some wish for the "Cliff NoTes" versions if their only interest is in construction. Thanks for sharing your work!
Super stove.👍👍👍
great video sean - thumbs up from far away - AUSTRIA
Heavy cover. Love the video

Making pizza in the deep woods -- now I have seen it all. Also, that bear paw design -- nice touch!
