The only saving grace would be if it was the equivalent to the "Morgan Yu" or through some Temporal shenanigans was actually Morgan from one of the endings where "IT" doesn't choose to go on a murderous rampage. A normal Phantom variant wouldn't have all those abilities at once but what pops out at the very end with potential experience with the full gamut of Typhon Nuromods might be able to do all those things.
The researchers fields of expertice all suggest that the Flatwoods Monster is the result of the research in Vault 96. Consider that the team was put together with foreknowledge of the task ahead. You had a microbiologist, a geneticist, a programmer, an aeronautics engineer and a roboticist. The vault was also equipped with both automaton fabricators and genetic engineering facilities. This means the end product would be a genetically modified cybernetic creature with flight capabilities. The next clue is the petri dishes as three mutations are abilities the Flatwoods monster has; these are regeneration, venom and electrokinesis. Finally the Shifting ability is uniquely associated with this creature. As for why the petri dishes suddenly developed identical traits or how teleportation fits into this is strange but the purple glow of the Flatwoods monsters eyes could be a clue as the Fallout Bible has this to say: "the psykers in Fallout 1 show some pretty over-the-top mutations that could take the world to Childhood's End faster than you can say "uh, his eyes are glowing?"" So what you may have here is Zetans who have been exposed to the FEV resulting in the manifestation of psychic powers who are then brainwashed or killed before being cybernetically grafted to advanced power suit technology with flight capabilities and deployed for field testing in Appalachia where they'll be mistaken for the local boogyman.
Enclaves formulas for mutations are likely a direct result of this vault and further searching the Enclave white springs bunker and the missions you are sent on allows you to discover some hunter/researcher's notes on the strange creatures known before the nukes and aside from super mutants and other fev creatures there are a few creatures that make a appearance: the mothman, zetans, the old gods(the sculptor in fo3, the monster at the bottom of lucky hole mine, Cold in the new update of 76, and the other interference from the paranormal in the games), the other genetic anomalies like the tunnelers and wanamingos, then there are the floaters and pits creatures. What if fev is not what we were told it was and it was extracted from something it would explain why they were never able to stabilize it if it wasn't really created.
Yeah I agree with your thoughts on this! I actually just did a new cryptid video. I think they just teased a total of 7 new creatures on the scoreboard!
Love this so much! Slightly off topic, but wouldn't you love one of those *blue* tubes as a drop?! I always think this when I go in that vault. No more green 😅
Seems like such an easy win for them! Just change the colours for more atomic shop purchases 😆 or drops ideally seeing as daily ops rewards rarely get updated!
Hm. Good video. Were I to guess combining both theories might be a viable answer. Zetans trying to harness the Prey critters gives us Flatwoods monsters. Specimen X001 therefore could be a captured Flatwoods. The “spreading” mutation gives an in-game lore explanation for the double-mutation events and so on.
while I'm sure that this was just supposed to be a reference to Prey, i would just like to note that we know the Enclave is the remnant of former US government and remained in contact with surviving Vaults well after the bombs fell. iirc they contacted the overseer of vault 101 during the events of fallout 3
Dude! I have been working on a story for a future filming project, and it involved being centered around a being that possessed multiple abilities that could either bring hope to the wasteland, or burn everything in their path. I don’t know how you got this all out together, but job well done man! One of these days we gotta pick each others brain over a cold bottle of nuka cola. Awesome job!
That sounds awesome mate! I think the Mothman sounds a bit like the being you imagine. Still not sure what each of these creatures want! And absolutely a cold one would go down a treat! Look forward to seeing you come up with your project 😊
i think x0001 is a FEV mutant tbh. FEV mutants are infertile but can reproduce asexualy as was seen in the flat worms exposed to FEV. So, perhaps the specimen's ability to infect other organic material was a mutation that WesTek was able to create in this specimen to circumvent that. Furthermore, WesTek did work with Vault Tech, as they provided the ZAX computer system that WesTek used for their research. So, perhaps the US Gov (in the months before the bombs) gave Valt Tech their most promising specimen to protect and continue research on as the WesTek lab was a major target and the Mariposa Base was also at risk (though ultimately unharmed) so as to ensure at least some of their research survived.
Just a theory about the Flatwoods Monster. I think it's a normal Zetan alien but they require certain specific nutrients that aren't found in a large enough quantity so it's body is more or less shriveling up to conserve itself while it adapts to the nutrients around it. I don't think it's going to continue to devolve, but unless it gets on a regular diet of its alien nutrients, I think it's just going to stay the same. As for it's teleportation? I think it's just a specialized recon unit. That's just my take on it.
Something you only mentioned, is that when the x-001 sample was analyzed, the result was as if it didn’t have anything to register. It certainly sounds like something that would happen with a typhon sample, given that they can seemingly imitate any inert material. On the other hand, they also have the ability to control electronics in Prey, which there doesn’t seem to be any sign of here. The alternative is that, possibly, the creature is something from the supernatural side of Fallout. We know how much Bethesda loves their Lovecraft references. With that in mind, this sounds more like a Shoggoth, which is VERY similar to a Typhon with it’s mimicking ability.
I'm really hoping they dip in to that side of Fallout more soon. The unknowable! But yeah I assumed the fact it didn't register was proof it was of 'alien' origin as its genetic makeup was unlike anything from earth.
(SPOILER WARNING FOR PREY) If it is the Typhon, then them not altering/controlling the tech in the Vault can be explained: they hadn't reached the point where they could make Technopaths yet. Think about it, Technopaths are shown to be at least a different subtype of Typhon in their ecology, and we don't see them in Prey until the infestation grows worse. Same thing with the Nightmare, it doesn't show up until the infestation gets worse, and until Morgan becomes more powerful via Neuromods (especially Typhon-based ones). Using this info, and the fact that Appalachia isn't covered in Mimics, Coral, or has an Apex actively eating it, we can assume that the Typhon infestation was killed early in development, and as such Appalachia doesn't have to worry about becoming Prey 2: Fallout Edition. That, or again, it's just a reference, and it didn't actually happen, or it is just tied to the Interloper or another Cryptid we haven't seen yet. Still, would be fun to hear the two universes are loosely tied to each other, or to hear the Enclave began fucking with the same shit that got Talos-1 to become a big, orbital paperweight.
EpicNate send me here, he said it is a nice fallout channel, and i am happy to found your channel! have a nice day, new sub and comment for the algorithm
I immediately figured the specimen was a cybernetically present artificial intelligence for the specific purpose of medical science. Clearly has been abducted instead of negotiated.
Technically if you break down the mutations then the most likely answer is, its whatever the player character is in the Fallout franchise. Its never really explained what we are and why we can do what no one else in storyline can. Cause we do everything that is listed. We easily teleport, can deal with fire, cold, and electrc damage better than any NPC or creature. We have a bit of psy powers in that we are so easily able to manipulate NPCs through voice chat options. We can phase materials into built objects really easily. We have knowledge of other player characters and events even though their is no direct way we should know about things, which ties into the jumping or spreading of mutations between subjects even though they are sealed. Much like every time we are sealed in a vault.
And the Enclave keeps doing all of this for another 200 years after Fo76, it’s what I hate and love about playing that game. Single player you are essentially a scout, multiplayer a squad, but all of it is still at the behest of an East Coast “all knowing” mainframe and you know less than real soldiers would in a war. But you do know that before your character’s end you will inevitably shut down everything on all factions in favor of John Henry Eden! Or yah know, the creatures win. Either way no actual rebuilding of anything happens for the East Coast anything until 2277. Edit: I just hope the eventual final season is called something like “Overrun” or “Downfall”, I mean we already know which direction the Pitt will be heading no matter what we do thanks to the West Coast BoS.
Maybe it is related to the interloper... i dont think that it is related to zetans at all... basically because I think that Vault-tec and the zetans were either working together or part of each other. I always have had the suspition that all these experiements are linked to an external being experimenting on an allien planet... meaning that the zetans either inflitrated Vault-tec or created vault-tec through human proxies in order to analyze humans and the earth fauna and flora, as it seems humans were one of the few races to actually repel their invasion... humans took their mothership later on and destroy a second incoming mothership. That DLC gave some light to some of those suspitions back then. I dont see how mutating people and understanding human phisiology could be more interesting for humans surviving the apocalypse than for aliens... I also dont think that Vault tec and the enclave were working together but more likely like a government shadow organization they found out this work and piggyback them and stole all the data for their own research and experimentation. Regarding the escape of mutated specimens... as far as I know that was done by the "president" at the time wanting to take control remotely of the silos by creating a level 1 emergency situation... but failed internally and even MODUS decided to exterminate them all, as they not only comprimised the enclave, but also everyone else including the "country"... hence it was defined as inherently evil and destroyed ... you can see also from the enclave members (at least the ones that we got holotapes from) that they were not expecting anything of this to happen, but only the madmen at the top did it... therefore I dont think that the enclave at the end is the ultimate bad buy ... they are twisted... but I would say that they are neutral evil more than 100% evil. I think that there has to be something else than meets the eye... I even think that the Interloper is tied to all of this... maybe the Interloper is the reason why the zetans are so keen to invade Earth?? Who knows.. But nonetheless... I think that your video was awesome
Really like your theories mate. The Enclave, Zetans and Vault-Tec all do seem linked. But yeah how they would all react to the Interloper would be really interesting! Thanks for checking the video mate 👊🏻
I don't play 76 so I'm probably a little confused, but whats the point in offing your best scientists for not meeting quota? Like "you sure scared them into working John, but uh, now we're out of our best scientists, the ones who likely knew best about the things they created.."
i love your theory i dont like its implications for fallout cannon but thats not your fault thank you for putting more people onto prey a wonderful game
@Mr. Johnson I mean yes and no they added alot of cool shit and then not alot cool shit so like you gotta do hoops to make it make sense but it all eventually makes sense
All across Fallout's lore there are examples of what can only be described as Eldritch Horrors, you can even find some of them in 76. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it turned out the specimen was one of these, how Vault Tec would be able to contain one though is beyond me.
I actually liked Bethesda's "Prey" game. I also figured this was a reference to said game.. That it was a Typhon in that area. Not everyone seems to like that game but I really liked it at least.. Hoping that game will be continued at some point but I have a bad feeling it wont. ( I am glad though that I am not the only one that thought this. Since you mentioned them in the video as well. )
Bethesda scoffs at canon. They arguably hate the concept. Because if they respected canon, Fallout 76 wouldn't exist. As for Prey. Bethesda is just a publisher, its made by Arkane.
As much as i love fallout i do eventualy want to see a game that is near the end of the timeline where the world is healing properly and your job is to help bring in or finish off factions or other groups left. Also got to wonder what will happen with the zetans as last things we knew they were up to was on mothership zeta in fallout 3 where they lost control of 1 ship and have 1 blown up and then some time later in fallout 4 a ship crashes for unknown reasons.
That's a substantial amount of data and thought you put into this. Thanks. I really wish the Enclave were better represented in game, and I still don't see how the Responders are sitting right on top of them... Unless it's a "front" or "cover". It would be nice if they at some point ousted the Responders, cleansed them with robots and assaultrons... Showing that the Enclave is the most dangerous group, providing the PC with an opportunity to do "more evil" or less than noble things to promote their own agenda (betraying the responders and gaining access to additional tech). As it is, the "good guys" ALWAYS winning is less than realistic. 76 is so watered down from all the Fallout games that I find it almost inconceivable how some people profess it is so great. As a multiplayer game, combat wise, and overall beauty... I love 76, but as far as a Fallout game - I hate it. Even the BOS is so ridiculously incompetent... How? They come up with Ultracite weapons, which in my mind should be below Enclave tech, and are ousted/defeated so easily.. The responders, pretending that the world will be what it was, is laughable. How can they compete against the tech? Unless they have overpowering numbers. Raiders, Settlers... Started, and incomplete. Secret Service - One agent makes a reference to additional missions - again incomplete. I really think they could have made "segments" of the map with higher influence by the raiders or settlers as your rep grew and different servers based on who you supported with gold, so at least it makes SOME IMPACT. Wow... I am so opinionated. I'll tie this up by saying this: Vault 88 was by far the ABSOLUTE PINNACLE of Fallout writing. I also wished that Super Mutants, Synths, Ghouls and perhaps one more mutation race were Player Characters... I think that it could have been done well, especially if you have played RPGs and have learnt how to balance benefits with drawbacks to make them appealing. What do I know though? I'm just a highly imaginative, creative person who accepts that some people are good and some are bad, but power corrupts almost without exception, and this should be part of the reality. This should not be a "kid's game". Thanks again for the post. I agree with you, and I hope that eventually, Bethesda will actually add some "meaningful" content that puts Fallout 76 back in the league of a FALLOUT GAME...
Really interesting thoughts mate enjoyed reading it. I think my hope regarding the Enclave and the Responders is they just want others to do the work for them. Like they are playing a longer game and can achieve their goals by pulling others strings behind the scene. I would love to see some long lasting effects in 76 like you mentioned - Foundation Destroyed or the Responders wiped out etc. it becomes repetitive with no ramifications of anything.

A normal Phantom variant wouldn't have all those abilities at once but what pops out at the very end with potential experience with the full gamut of Typhon Nuromods might be able to do all those things.
Bethesda's Prey came out in 2017 not 2016.
Prey is unbelievably good, everyone go play it now it's awesome.
Considering how the typhon organisms are multidimensional i wouldn’t be surprised if they decided to make a Bethesda Gaming Universe
Typhon solos the Fallout universe
Prey is so underrated. I highly recommend it.
He never going to play
This barotrauma music instantly just brings me nightmares, perfect choice for any weird creature video.
Fantastic work! I love the theorising in this, and it sounds plausible. Always looking forward to moar!
Moar to come! Glad you liked the video thanks 😊
Why hello Phantom from the game Prey (2017) in the thumbnail.
Damn. This is very well done. I think this is the first lore video I’ve ever watched fully.
Everyone who's played GW2 - End of Dragons:
"How the hell did _that_ get here?!"
You know I wouldn't be opposed to Bethesda combining these universes together. Even adding dishonored and deathloop could be cool too
Enclaves formulas for mutations are likely a direct result of this vault and further searching the Enclave white springs bunker and the missions you are sent on allows you to discover some hunter/researcher's notes on the strange creatures known before the nukes and aside from super mutants and other fev creatures there are a few creatures that make a appearance: the mothman, zetans, the old gods(the sculptor in fo3, the monster at the bottom of lucky hole mine, Cold in the new update of 76, and the other interference from the paranormal in the games), the other genetic anomalies like the tunnelers and wanamingos, then there are the floaters and pits creatures. What if fev is not what we were told it was and it was extracted from something it would explain why they were never able to stabilize it if it wasn't really created.
Yeah I agree with your thoughts on this! I actually just did a new cryptid video. I think they just teased a total of 7 new creatures on the scoreboard!
Wow. That was amazing a Fallout Lore video with some horror. Great job!
Thanks mate! Glad you liked it 👍🏻
This was such a great watch. Keep it up bud!
A typhon... in fallout... or a typhon like creature... well, all I can say is that the wasteland is screwed.
You can kill typhons with a wrench.
They're super dangerous, but its not like John carpenters the thing walking into a grass field level dangerous.
Hm.
I love the cinematic quality of these videos
Thank you very much!
while I'm sure that this was just supposed to be a reference to Prey, i would just like to note that we know the Enclave is the remnant of former US government and remained in contact with surviving Vaults well after the bombs fell. iirc they contacted the overseer of vault 101 during the events of fallout 3
Ah finaly a lore video on this !
Thanks mate!
I think its intended as a neat easter egg to Prey 2017. Like the nirnroot in Fallout 4.
Also 96 is honestly the most fucked vault in fallout imo.
I forgot about the nirnroot! Honestly 96 was so brutal. None of them were ever getting out.
i think x0001 is a FEV mutant tbh.
West Tek did make a lot of mutants to be fair! Could definitely see that being the case!
Possibly another piece of evidence to the Bethesda universe theory
I would assume they can’t teleport without the suit, so it being an Easter egg just fills in that gap
These 2 games are so different damn
Looks like one of the Phantoms from Prey.
(SPOILER WARNING FOR PREY)
If it is the Typhon, then them not altering/controlling the tech in the Vault can be explained: they hadn't reached the point where they could make Technopaths yet.
This makes me think we would be getting more mutations
I’m sure we will be in future!
I immediately figured the specimen was a cybernetically present artificial intelligence for the specific purpose of medical science.
Clearly has been abducted instead of negotiated.
I personally believe it's a zed with FEV,
Where is Vault 112? Listed in Vault-Tech computer terminal of Fallout 3.
Killing someone who doesn’t meet a quota is the dumbest thing. Like who’s gonna fill that quota now?
I would agree with you if not for one major distinction and that is that the player can *NOT* turn themselves into a coffee mug
When I saw X-001 I though megaman X finally got a sibling.
If you’ve never taken the opportunity to play Bethesda’s “Prey” … my heart never slowed down the whole playthrough 😅
The best thing involving Fallout 76
Therory 2 sounds cool as hell! It was my immediate thought when I first heard of this.
Oooo buddy. I had forgotten about this! Good stuff man!
Very very well done! 👏
Super interesting stuff and spectacular visuals!!! Another great video! Very underrated channel!
#StayEpic
#NeverStøp
Thank you very much Sally! Glad you liked it 😊
And the Enclave keeps doing all of this for another 200 years after Fo76, it’s what I hate and love about playing that game.
God I swear I saw a typhoon when I saw the thumbnail
Have to say that this is an excellent piece of work. Really top quality.
Thank you very much! 😊
@@UraniumFever76 Thank you man. It is a pleasure. Your videos are very well done and had helped me navigating through Apalacchia a lot. :)
Seeing the picture of them with the helmet on reminds me of the aliens at the ranch in Zelda: Majora's Mask. Seems like they were the inspiration.
I don't play 76 so I'm probably a little confused, but whats the point in offing your best scientists for not meeting quota? Like "you sure scared them into working John, but uh, now we're out of our best scientists, the ones who likely knew best about the things they created.."
Because that’s the brain dead thinking Uber Capitalism makes 😂
the biggest mystery of all why make this game with a completely different design philosophy
i love your theory i dont like its implications for fallout cannon but thats not your fault thank you for putting more people onto prey a wonderful game
Thank you mate! Glad you the video 😊
Fallout canon was heavy messed with as soon as Bethesda purchased it. At this point I wouldn't worry about it.
Since you mentioned them in the video as well. )
I appreciate the effort you put into the visual story telling, gotcha a new sub! Looking forward to your content!
X-001 makes me think of Shadow Lugia aka XD-001 from Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness
I love the appreciation for prey 2017 including the intros music
Great video man, you made some convincing points!
This really makes me think about trying 76 out, but I still have years of time left in 4
Reminds me of the Typhon from prey
I love, I mean LOVE Prey, and I love (most of) the Fallout series...but if them being linked is somehow canon, I really don't like that.
Like how the thumbnail is a Typhoon from pray
@@UraniumFever76 Of all the factions, I find that the Enclave is the most under developed and incomplete. I mean the last time they really spent anything on them was prior to fallout 4.
I'm so on the fence about the options here my suspicion is Typhon Zetan hybrid.
Nuke-LEE-are, say it with me.
But seriously, great vid.
Love this video, it needs more love. Thanks for the video@😁😁
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Information on Specimen X-001is REDACTED Please reframe on continuing this study on the Subject.

Enclave High Command.
The recent ufo leak, the video on a military base of the uap/ufo in ultraviolet light floating/hovering reminds me of this. Same kinda shape and movement
I fully believe it's a Typhon.
i think specimen X-001 is a flatwoods monster because a flatwoods monster could be found in vault 96 before it whas open to players you could see the flatwoods monster if you clipped thru the wall or vault door before it whas open to players ... i also think the enclave is involved in all vault´s not only vault 96
You're youtube handle is actually so damn good
Thank you haha! Seemed appropriate!
looks like the aliens from Bethesda's other game
Prey
don't you think that killing a scientist just because they didn't reach a deadline is a bit much?
i could tell that the scientist was just "beaming" with fear when the robot attacked
Is it the proof of tapping into the Cthulhu sciences?
I hope so mate. Would love to see more Lovecraftian themes in Fallout!
So, it's a Typhon Phantom?
Maybe! Flatwoods monster is probably more likely of the two!
Sound like mimics
And to think that there are still people who think Vault tec are the good guys. Jeez.
Surely not! They are the worst!
You've earned a subscriber good sir.
Ive never gotten into that vault.
I guess Morgan failed
