Mania XV marked the first of what will be many, MANY face/heel turns for The Big Show, so maybe Bios should start keeping count of how many will wind up happening in just the remaining two years left of the Monday Night War. I imagine it'll be somewhere between 5 & 10, honestly.
Debuted as heel. Turns face at Mania. Turns heel a couple months later when he starts working with Undertaker. Turns face leading up to Survivor Series. Turns heel after being screwed at the 2000 Royal Rumble. Turns face after Wrestlemania 16. Turns heel a couple months later to join Shane McMahon again. He was too fat. Returned as a heel. Turned face due to the Invasion. Managed to go nearly a year as a face before turning heel once more to join the nWo 2002. Spent a whole two years as a heel until he 'quit' after losing to Eddie Guerrero post Wrestlemania 20 and tried to kill Torrie Wilson and Kurt Angle where upon his return became a face for going after Kurt Angle. Leading up to Survivor Series 2005 he and Kane were acting as heels for Raw against team Smackdown though it was more a matter of perspective. Turned heel for real after joining ECW in 2006 and winning the ECW Championship from RVD. Hiatus. Returned as a heel but smoothly transitioned into a face against Floyd Mayweather. Turned heel attacking The Undertaker later in 2008. Turned face midway through 2010 after turning on The Miz and joining Smackdown once more. Turned heel at over the limit 2012 by helping Big Johnny. Turned face against The Authority in mid 2013. Joined the Authority at Survivor Series 2014 with another heel turn. Then I dunno.

Triple H turning on DX was the absolute right and best decision he made for his career. Despite what the other members think, the DX Army seemed to run out of steam post SummerSlam the previous year and were just there without a real direction. With the Rock's babyface turn ensuring that he would never be higher than maybe the 4th or 5th highest babyface on any given card, Triple H saw a window to be the villain to those more popular acts and took it.

The best things from this show imo. Boyz II Mens rendition of America the beautiful, the intro, seeing Gorilla monsoon which would be his final appearance, Takers entrance(because of course), and Austins title win. Kind of a stepdown from mania 14, and it's the final of the 90s.
Speaking about stepdowns, it's sad to see how far the LOD (rip to both Animal and Hawk), fell in a year's time. At Mania 14, they open the show in a #1 Contender's Battle Royal essentially built around them w/a fresh new look and manager in Sunny after being gone since December (speaking of fallen stars, yeesh lol) and win it. Fast forward to 15, and the scenario is the same, but this time they aren't even on the card proper, nor do they come anywhere near winning the match to get on it. It's a really striking difference, made even moreso, when you consider the fact that two random wrestlers paired together for the sake of it, ended up taking the spot over them. Curious to see how many times they appeared on Raw after this, assuming they did at all. But yeah, just a really sad end, not counting their one night return in 03, for one of the best and most decorated tag teams of their era. They deserved better.
Been absolutely binge-watching your videos over the last month or so, they're brilliant. Appreciate all the work that goes in to them dude. I was a Rock fan and didn't like Austin much so I didn't like the main event either (funny how things change, I think Austin was the absolute bom now I'm an adult). As a match I also thought their rematch at Backlash was much better too.
Should be, IMO. It's basically the perfect spot to end the series. It's a pipe dream of mine but after WM X7 I'd love it if he comes up with a new series, Reliving the Invasion, that would basically serve as the (long form) epilogue to the whole RtW saga: how the easiest slam dunk in wrestling history became a ridiculous overbooked mess and the biggest wasted chance in the industry. A sad epilogue for a once proud promotion: with a bunch of talent buried week after week and everything devolving into same old, same old WWF-centric storylines.
This WrestleMania is special to me. My parents finally got satellite tv and I ran a 50ft phone cord all the way to the living room to hook it into the box and ordered PPV. My mom was pissed and blamed it on my dad. Ahhh, the memories
@@BossUpReviews Thanks boss. I invited some friends over to hang out too. Parents were none the wiser as I was watching Nitro, Raw, Thunder, Smackdown, Heat every week. They figured it was just one of my regular programs.
My opinion which might be wrong but i feel the Austin v McMahon rivalry shouldve ended here without all the corporate ministry stuff. Over the last year McMahon was trying to keep the belt off Austin and here he finally overcomes everything
I think they wanted it that way at first, too. But it was something to fall back on when they painted themselves into a corner. I'm 100% convinced that they had no idea who the higher power was supposed to be going into the reveal, so they went with the company's top heel: Vince.
I stayed up to watch this live with my mate. We were 13 and sort of new attitude era fans dating back to only WM14. I was shocked and gutted when HHH turned heel. As I knew this was the end of DX. I enjoyed it as my 13 year old self. It was good to relive it again. I was a fully fledged Stone Cold fan, but The Rock had won my over to the point were I wouldn't have been bothered if he'd retained. Looking forward to the up coming episodes
Oh man, you are right about that nostalgia part. This was the 1st mania I ever watched on TV, keep that in mind that I am from Bangladesh, kind of halfway around the globe from where the actions are taking place; and we didn’t get to watch it live rather a recorded show. We had Raw is War on Thursdays and Monday nitro on a Saturday nights 😂
I remember watching this with my buddies and we laughed at how many times they went over the recap of Bart Gunn being knocked the F out. Someone assumed way too much time was going to go into this match up. It was a good thing the money wasn't flowing as far as bets go.
You mention the Howard Stern Show. Great show and he had quite a few of these wrestlers on. I highly rec his interview with Goldust. Keep up the great work.
Man listen. My heart sunk when you said "make the most of it because we only have 2 left". I was thinking episodes. I hope you mean Manias. Because this is the best docuseries of the best age of rasslin by far. This is even with the content restrictions from YT and WWE. I dont remember how I came across the channel but you definitely got the Jam and i dont usually speak for others, but I feel like we need you to what you do. I think WWE should hire you but it would water down the content i think. I, for one, am tuning in everytime you drop. And i appreciate you work.
Me too!! I second! I second what this guy said! I’m just not as good at words as this guy is but yea he describes exactly why I felt kinda depressed about this one 😢. Thanks 🙏 man! You said this way better than I could have.
Mania XV is a pretty weak WM overall, but there is one thing about this show that I will always love: the entrance setup. I love the logo design for the show, as well as it's placement at the back of the ramp, and the minimal visual clutter make it incredible in my opinion. You just see the wrestlers framed by that logo some bright lights, and it's always been a very special setup to me
You can truly tell how much the quality of the product changed when Russo and Ferrara left and the company started introducing Jericho, E&C and The Hardys (post Brood), The Dudleys, Angle, The Radicalz, and Trish and Lita in their ranks.

32:50 Fun fact: The original DVD of this had the Wrestlemania Rage Party segment replaced by a video package of Austin/Rock which I think was shown earlier that night on Heat. They also cut the celebrity appearances in the crowd like for Big Pun & Issac Hayes who were there.

I am shocked you didnt address a couple things, most important Billy Gunn getting the crowd to go apesh*t after the table spot with the super crotch chop combo.
A promo from Billy in Philly, I saw what you did there lol 👏. Looking back at HHH's double turn I hadn't noticed until I rewatched WrestleMania 15 last week that not only the mean street posse not attack him but him and Chyna both wearing silver, then the promo prior to the Shane vs XPac match. Pedigreeing one of his best friends saved the turn for me. I believe Austin had lost his vest prior to the match which is why he came out in that shirt. JR with the call on Austin's 3 count on the Rock
This was the first ever vhs I bought with my Xmas money when I was 9. You were right to include the heat episode I know this wrestlemania doesn’t get highly rated but i loved it, it felt so alive with the heel turns n betrayals etc was so surprising n my mates all wanted to watch it again n again.

Legendary
@@BossUpReviews Thanks boss. I invited some friends over to hang out too. Parents were none the wiser as I was watching Nitro, Raw, Thunder, Smackdown, Heat every week. They figured it was just one of my regular programs.
My opinion which might be wrong but i feel the Austin v McMahon rivalry shouldve ended here without all the corporate ministry stuff. Over the last year McMahon was trying to keep the belt off Austin and here he finally overcomes everything
Yea but than we don’t get things like Austin’s eulogy & the CEO battle which was a lot of fun
I think they wanted it that way at first, too. But it was something to fall back on when they painted themselves into a corner. I'm 100% convinced that they had no idea who the higher power was supposed to be going into the reveal, so they went with the company's top heel: Vince.
@@Cableguy15In other words, they got lazy and decided to let Vincent's ego have the final say and drag out the Austin feud.
I heard once it was supposed to be Christopher Daniels but nothing ever came of it
@@jjkcommentaries8645 I heard that too. But nobody knew who he was so they went w/ McMahon
And i appreciate you work.
its definitely Manias, the wrestling war doesnt end till WCW dies.
Me too!! I second! I second what this guy said! I’m just not as good at words as this guy is but yea he describes exactly why I felt kinda depressed about this one 😢. Thanks 🙏 man! You said this way better than I could have.
How petty the WWF was with Bart Gunn.
The HHH turn was done so well. A story told over two matches with a hell of a twist. This was the first mania I watched live!!
Mania XV is a pretty weak WM overall, but there is one thing about this show that I will always love: the entrance setup. I love the logo design for the show, as well as it's placement at the back of the ramp, and the minimal visual clutter make it incredible in my opinion. You just see the wrestlers framed by that logo some bright lights, and it's always been a very special setup to me
I was a child but I had been a die hard fan watching wwf every week for the last two years .., I was so excited for this entire card
My buddy and I were 2nd row ringside. It was definitely an unforgettable weekend! We went to the Rage Party too, and that was wild!
You can truly tell how much the quality of the product changed when Russo and Ferrara left and the company started introducing Jericho, E&C and The Hardys (post Brood), The Dudleys, Angle, The Radicalz, and Trish and Lita in their ranks.
I call the Hardys in 1999 and beyond Hardy Boyz 2.0 since before that they were jobbers
Agreed. Lower and Midcard wrestling improves drastically after Russo leaves in the fall.
Who was the head writer/booker at this time in WWE? How about WCW?
@@PancakeProduct Russo was head writer for the WWF from spring of ‘97 until the fall of ‘99. Dunno who was head writer for WCW at this point (whoever it was was doing a terrible job w/ it at this point lmao)
@@dukes1993724 Either Kevin Nash or Sullivan. (depending on who you believe online).
I really needed this. Suffered one of the worst storm outbreaks ive seen in recent memory and i remembered it was sunday. Thank you.
12:15 that synchronization is brilliant 😂😂😂
Dr. Death also tore his hamstring in that fight. Dear god that was a disaster of an idea.
It's important to note that by being in Wrestle Mania, Pete Rose could be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, something he is fairly or unfairly barred from doing in MLB.
Man is this really coming to an end? How time flies been watching since episode one it's been a long ride. It was a honor to be able to name the glacier tag team ice ice maybe 4 life 😂😂
Iss 3:33 in Memphis..we all in here together ryte now watching thyss 33 minute video that was dropped 33 minutes ago..
Salute
Finally its time for the Ragin Climax! Ready for this
Pay per view Rlw sundays are my favorite... fat blunt, philly cheesesteak, and wrestling bios on the big screen = happyness❤
I know it’s been there during all of RTW but I just wanted to say I appreciate hearing the menu music from the WWF Warzone N64 game in the background lol.
It was more than just N64. This was the music on the PlayStation version as well.
@@zlinedavidnever played it on Playststion. I only owned it on N64 🤷🏻♂️
Also, RIP The DX army! Wouldn't see these 5 together ever again. Their next reunion wouldn't involve Chyna...
😢
Their reunion later that year wasn't the same. No Chyna and they had become a heel group. That run was short-lived though but they had reached main event status at that time.
@KevinPayton-fq8gd agreed. Whether we like it or not, HHH was right to leave when he did. He was meant for bigger and better. It's a shame the others didn't go much beyond the mid-card in WWE.
@@WickedFireBird69 I was devastated but watching reliving the war, it was probably the right time. If they had only brought them back for the invasion or vs the NWO
@@WickedFireBird69 I'm not disagreeing with you about HHH. It was his time and it worked out. From that point on, he became the best heel during the last couple of years of the Attitude Era and is a legend.
18:35 you "kinda enjoy" pete rose tryna get revenge? It became tradition early attitue era, only 3 years but i expected it to be 4 lol... i loved it being into baseball growing up❤
RIP Charlie Hustle. The absolute GOAT
I've been with the series since the first episode and I remember you covering WrestleMania 12
Haa!
Just watched the first 2 parts of The Golden Age of WWE docu-series from Cultaholic, so far it's covered the first 3 Manias and it's crazy looking at what it became just 12 short years later.
Although in current times I'd say WrestleMania is closer to what it was envisioned as all those 39+ years ago.
😄👍
its funny how you said it fell like Monday Night Raw, this was my first ever PPV i ever got after getting into Wrestling I had no idea what to expect, but I remember loving it because I think it did remind me of a longer commercial free (mostly) episode of raw and at the time I knew where I was going to be every Monday night for the next long while
I was at this Wrestlemania and I started a Let’s Go Flyers chant when they busted out the hockey stick during the hardcore match!
Fun fact, this was the first match The Rock wrestled with no shirt after he had brest reduction surgery
Chyna and HHH wearing matching silver ish ring wear kinda ruined that turn but then the double turn on X-Pac made up for it
I know we've only got 2 years of reliving the war left but I'm really hoping you'll continue and do the first year of the WCW invasion storyline
Let the man take a break.
@6:16 billy went on a wild ride 🏇🏾🎡🎠🤠🤣
@18:19 remember Kane said suuuuuuck iiiit😂 I thought he was grabbing ta Tas and getting tator 😂🎉
Baffling to me that Tori was a 10 year vet at this point
But to be fair I don't think even Rhea Ripley or Charlotte Flair could get a decent match out of Sable
32:50
Fun fact: The original DVD of this had the Wrestlemania Rage Party segment replaced by a video package of Austin/Rock which I think was shown earlier that night on Heat. They also cut the celebrity appearances in the crowd like for Big Pun & Issac Hayes who were there.
They show those on the VHS version because vince looks like he's tweaking at the rage party
@@That_Guy- to avoid paying the celebrities royalties
@@That_Guy- Yeah I remember, the tape also had the post-show interviews with Austin & Rock that I think was shown on the Home Shopping Network when that deal was a thing.
32 days.
The inaugural SmackDown is upon us
Owen Hart has 56 days to live...
Big Show’s very first heel/face turn if we’re keeping track
Are we counting all 900 of his WCW heel/face turns? 🤔
My Sundays always lit NFL games and relieving the war uploads this is the life
My Bengals won and a WM with Austin on top is the WB episode for the day….life is good.
I'll take this set up over the giant stage, LEDs everywhere, and constant pyro any day
Regarding your use of the term "country mile" at the 24:30 mark, I can say, as a "country whippin' match" enthusiast, that a country mile is approximately 20% more gravelly than a regular mile. You're welcome.
I can’t believe I’m almost caught up with the channel 😭 I started 93 Raw when this channel was on 1996. Thought I’d take forever to catch up but damn what a wild ride, I can’t believe I missed out on all this when I was a kid!
Road Dogg giving Val a good ol fashioned bummin.....😅kills me everytime
A wrestling bios ppv on a Sunday just hits so right
Who else watches Wrestling Bios, more faithfully than they watch wrestling?😅
Oh Christ…I haven’t watched wrestling faithfully in 20 years. Haven’t missed an episode of RTW in 2+ years.
🙋🏾♂️
Wrestling bios is essential viewing unmissable
@@zlinedavidfacts❤❤❤
i haven't watched wrestling much since Katie Vick
Loved Undertakers intro he definitely looked like final boss character in a video game but i enjoyed Wrestlemania 15 when first viewing on VHS back in 1999 but good work Wrestling Bios really enjoy your love in old school wrestling 👍
12:19 probably no surprise that Foley got an ovation like that given that Philadelphia was his old E,C,W stomping grounds
Mick would of got that ovation no matter where it was
My 2nd wrestlemania since watching RtW. My hop into this channel was Survivor Series 1997 but my hop in point for wrestling was the first episode of Smackdown
WRESTLING BIOS IS KING 👑
I am shocked you didnt address a couple things, most important Billy Gunn getting the crowd to go apesh*t after the table spot with the super crotch chop combo.
I was there that night. And I will continue to tell you all. I was there that night.
It's going to be a sad day when the final Reliving the War airs
Great Video, Can't wait for you to do the Backlash PPV Next Month.
36:17 why is austins wrist glitching through the top rope?
18:45 RIP Charlie Hustle aka Pete Rose
Debut of Nicole Bass as Sable's Bodyguard and Triple H turn on X-Pac
And soon she'll get the hots for Val, and make gold lol
A promo from Billy in Philly, I saw what you did there lol 👏. Looking back at HHH's double turn I hadn't noticed until I rewatched WrestleMania 15 last week that not only the mean street posse not attack him but him and Chyna both wearing silver, then the promo prior to the Shane vs XPac match. Pedigreeing one of his best friends saved the turn for me.
I believe Austin had lost his vest prior to the match which is why he came out in that shirt. JR with the call on Austin's 3 count on the Rock
Austin recalls arguing with his wife , being pissed off and completely forgetting the vest.
Of course brother 🤙🏽 Thanks for puttin' it together 👑
This was the first ever vhs I bought with my Xmas money when I was 9. You were right to include the heat episode I know this wrestlemania doesn’t get highly rated but i loved it, it felt so alive with the heel turns n betrayals etc was so surprising n my mates all wanted to watch it again n again.
12 year old me was in tears when HHH betrayed X-Pac and joined the corporation 😭
There's those "fish out of water" Stunner sells we all know and love!
Michael cole gave away the main event result😮
It was a little mistake
We didn’t know just how great of a time we were living in
29:53 Even Crispy M&M is terrified of The Undertaker
Iv been waiting for this for so long I can remember watching this as a kid with my brother staying up late being so excited I fuckin love this channel your the man bro we all love you so much thank you for all your hard work brother
@19:00 touched his stomach like got YOU. 😂😂
I'd like to see you do a limited series on the Thursday night war. .. maybe like the best 10 episodes
Wcw blunder side series... hope he sees this!
The only thing good about WrestleMania 15 was Stone Cold vs The Rock.
Austin 6 month journey through hell and finally ended and captured the WWF championship once again.
