Connor Chambers Are they bad or something? I think you confusse "doing good" with "having fun". Old Top Gear was all about having fun, not giving a shit If a 400hp car was slower than a 200hp half price car.
The drag races are done by the magasine staff not the TV guys. They are the old Top Gear.

But the outcome is far from surprising, before viewing the video I was sure the R8 was going to win, the RS6 would be second and the S8 would be last (which is a harsh to say to a Sedan that goes 0-60 in 3.5s :D).
Yep, no surprises, although I was curious to see how much the turbo torque could compensate for extra weight ... not enough but they were not far behind. Sheer wonderful madness.

it isnt the slowest the dude in s8 just cant launch it the ss8 was and is all time faster than an RS6

I have always liked the R8, (as the RS6 too). But, to have a cabin and features that the S8 does and be able to be as quick as it is would be the ultimate touring car.

Brent Zittel the best time for R8 plus was 2.6 sec to 60 mph just like the Huracan

0-60 varies a lot based on traction in these cars. Could have been a difference of the road surface. Different tires are also a possibility but I doubt they would change them from the factory tire.
That S8 will always be my favorite, next to the M760Li😍😍

We certainly do, it would be a monster.
They would sell so little of those that its not even worth the production cost. And if the RS8 ever did make it to the final cut it would use the same V8 but in a different 650+ tune. These days V8 with turbos is the most perfect engine when it comes to performance, you can get so much power out of it, its light and it fits everywhere and you still get a pretty decent sound. All the other NA engines are reserved to the supercars as for the fact they are so big that they are half of the car lol.
Anyone else prefer the R8 over the huracan?
I prefer the looks of the R8 more but I prefer the Huracan because it's lighter and RWD is an option for the Huracan.

It's not necessarily a bargain Samuel. Its just that the S63 is that much better of a Car, hence the extra price. There are plenty of videos about the new S63 here on UA-cam, why not take a look at a few?

Standard S8 had 520 hp not the 560 of the standard RS6/RS7.

i find that drag race videos should be exactly like that. you are just used to waay too much drama and artificial effects in car videos.
The RS6 had always been my dream car. It is a real sleeper, what a monster! And it also is a perfect car for the family. I really hope I can afford one some day!

Wait a few years, put some money at the side and buy a 10 year old one, same fun as a new one and still the fastest car around your neighborhood.
I buyed myself a A8 4.2 TDI (2008) and it's a pleasure to drive it, you don't need the newest one to have a smile on your face:)

What about using the baseline R8... or using the RS6 Plus and S8 Plus against the R8 V10 Plus... the results might not be different, but the race would be closer and more exciting

Out of those 3 I easily take the RS6. Almost 50k less that can be spent on upgrades and from what I heard it's quite easily tunable. Plus if it's that quick stock, then it shouldn't be that hard to make it beat a R8. And it's got 4 doors, 5 seats and a lot of space for luggage. A perfect car for someone who wants everything in one car, instead of getting a sports car and a estate car.
The RS6 IS an estate car.. lol

That 4.0L twin turbo engine is the real winner that thing will make 800+ hp stock internals that porsche/audi/ bentley engine is insane

While the results were fairly predictable, it's still interesting to see how the cars compare to each other. I agree with some of the comments, in comparisons this close there really should be best out of three runs. :)

Looks like the Audi RS6 is coming back after the quartermile, it lost just 1.3 seconds at the 100 MPH and at the quartermile just 0.6 Seconds. Insane!

Yep, Tom Ford has changed and for the better. Whilst the S8 is very quick in a straight line, it is the RS6 which handles better. It is really just a very practical sports car of the M5 type
