We’ve got our hands on the all-new Audi RS6 Performance, and it’s about to go head-to-head against its key competitors, the BMW M5 Competition and Mercedes-AMG E63 S!
Think this line-up seems familiar? Well, that’s because it is - we’ve done this race before! The question is, will the all-new RS6 have what it takes to bring down the competition?
Well, let’s first find out by checking out the stats. Starting with the RS6, it’s powered by the same 4-litre twin-turbo V8 as before, but the power has been dialled up, and it now produces an amazing 630hp and 850Nm of torque! This power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, however, the car is the heaviest in this line-up, tipping the scales at 2,090kg! It’s also the most expensive car here, with a price tag of around £113,000.
Alongside it, we have the BMW. It’s packing a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet, which is good for 625hp and 750Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed torque converter gearbox, and it weighs in at 1,865kg. It’s also slightly cheaper than the RS6, at around £111,000.
Then finally we have the AMG. It’s actually the least powerful car here, with its 4-litre twin-turbo V8 putting down 612hp and 850Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed multi-clutch gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,950kg. It’s the cheapest car in this line-up, too, costing around £106,000.
So will the most powerful car win it? Or will the BMW’s incredible launch system propel it to victory? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

I’d love to see rs6 vs rs7 to see how the different body styles affect drag and overall performance.

It pulls like that because it’s lighter 🤣the Audi and merc is 100-300kg heavier. Audi really killed the rs6 bmw and merc got with the times and stated lower power figures. Audi is like that annoying smart kid in school who wont cheat

@prefescent4460 the difference between avant and sedan is basically allways the same - 65kg. That won't change anything.

I think the added torque makes the difference but the fact that the M5 was catching it shows what a great engine BMW makes. The Mercedes sucks as usual, not sure why anyone buys one anymore.

Awesome video, also just a tip to avoid early jumps is to use a LED flashlight. Once the person holding the flashlight turns it on you go. It’s what people do here in America when racing for pinks or money, to make it as fair as possible.
Consodering the weight of the RS6 perf, it performed pretty well!!

The F90 is truly an insane vehicle, and that is about to be ruined with stupid hybrid setups. The next M5 will be a heavy pig just like the new AMG Hybrids and basically lose everything that makes the F90 great.

Audi has such a start due to the fact that it has 100 more torque than the M5. But the M5, with its 625 horsepower and 750 torque, proved to be worthy!
Sorry audi is king at launches out of the 3 next to porsche. However on the roll the BMW an benz are all underrated power figures, audi is pretty much on par with stated numbers which once again proves audis superiority at puttin power down. On even playing field audi is superior quattro awd. Far more capable company. By the way audi r8 v10 plus takes care of any bmw. And with an honest 610hp a supercar indeed. 0-60 in 2.6 secs an quarter mile 10.6s proven many times. Now overall faster car audi an bmw doesnt come close to mercedes. Amg one hypercar, amg gt black series.

The RS6 seems the most consistent to get off the mark but the BMW even though is quicker is harder to launch

The RS6 Performance launch is really aggressive, just shot through off the line like a bullet, for the weight on that car, it's pretty impressive. That M5 is powerful 👏🏾

As a BMW fan, I was nervous when watching this considering the tough competition. M power pulled through but just barely which goes to show how amazing all these cars are.

I have never seen a car that weights over 2 tons launches like a bullet. The acceleration is crazy. And the braking power of the RS6 is simply amazing.
All three so much power and still no 10s-Cars. I choose the Tesla Plaid with under 9s😊

@@Semo11044did u watch till the end of video? Matt did say BMW usually lies about their quoted power figures after checking an M5 Competition on dyno. It makes 650 hp instead of 625 hp. Torque is more than 750 too. Audi & AMG are more honest. So it's not surprising the most powerful car won here.

In the E63s amg vs e-tron race, the Mercedes did a 1/4 mile in 11.1 with the Met at the wheel, in theory they are all 11.1 Quarter, but with the best result they will all calmly do 10.9, but I still love E63❤️🩹

A stomp on the accelerator in the beamer on the rolling start would have forced the kickdown, a great feature

Honestly, no matter how better the newer ones of these 3 cars are gonna be. The fact is those 3 are all the BMW, Mercedes or Audi you ever gonna need! The absolute best from the current technology and engineering. I am not ready to say bye to these incredible machines.
I find it so funny that literally every journalist doesn't know that going into drive and moving 1 foot then back to nuetral or park disables soft limiter...Also on F10 and newer you can use cruise up and down to adjust launch RPM

There won't be an M5 wagon, BMW has confirmed that they will not be making another M wagon in the foreseeable future. And the E-Class Wagon is also canceled after this generation.
