I can't guarantee that it would work on an L322... or are you talking about an L405? The engine should not make a difference - it has to do with the CANBUS and the fact that it is an 8speed ZF transmission. I am not sure when the L494 came into existence, but I know I needed a 2013-2016 L494 Lever so it would 'talk to' my 2016 L405. Tell me your vehicle specs and I can see if I can get more info. Thanks for watching - JDW
@@FatAmericansGuide thank you for the fast response. I am looking at a 2010 L322 4.4tdv8. I saw the code for the rotary dial is BH42-7E453-AF/G and the code for a L494 lever is DPLA-7E453-AF/G. So they seem very similar as long as you match the last letter between them.
@@vasiabikeru I will take a look later today at the parts I have in the shop. If they are the same - then I can get you the wiring diagram. You can also peruse this topic on Full Fat Range Rovers Forum. (www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic65388-30.html) Wiring starts on about Page 3. The hardest part is fitting it up under the rotary console... I am afraid you are on your own there. I had to design a sub frame out of 9mm plywood. The Lever bolts down into it, and the whole frame screws up under the console into the existing mounting points for the spinny knob. If you are interested - I will lend what little knowledge/insight/psychosis I have. You can also email me at jackw.online@gmail.com. It's a shame you can't post pics here... but I guess you can post entire videos! If you buy an L494 Lever - see if they can get you the pig-tail as well... Usually scrapyards just cut things and if you can get a 6" bit of the wiring loom with the connector, it is a huge help.
@@FatAmericansGuide thanks again. I went through the entire thread yesterday and I must admit I am not very comfortable with the wiring diagram, but I am sure I can be if it proves possible :) let me know if you can figure that out. Deeply appreciate it. What you’ve done is desired by many :)
It is not an all ya gotta do - but the full thread is found here: www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic65388.html You have to find an old spinny knob to scavenge the male connector off the bottom - build a pigtail tp the flat 10 pin female connector for the L494. Towards the end of the thread are dimensions for the subframe and the filler piece. If you are serious about it - I am happy to help. Especially with the filler and sub-frame.
Great mod! Would this work on a 4.4 as well?
