What a crime to see a historic clock from the 70s smashed in an unprecedented test that proves that with enough pressure from a hydraulic machine, any clock breaks. That old and still working clock did not deserve to end like this.
1:15 i like the fact that he gently passes the knife through the original glass and later on at 1:36 really pushes hard to create a scratch on the fake.
Actually,if it does not scratch it just slides and looks like your not putting any effort but when it scratches it burrows some of the blade bc thats a cutter, a very sharp blade it looks like your putting alot of effort.
70’s watch featured a function that ejects the movement when it realises its in a hydraulic press. What you didn’t see off camera was the parachute deploy and the movement land safely on the ground.
He's being mindful of the blade. That is a Sapphire crystal, or at the very least mineral glass coated with Sapphire, meaning there's no amount of pushing down with a box cutter in your hand that's going to scratch it. Worst that could happen is that the blade slips and you end up hurting yourself.
I thought it was an impact resistance test, but it was a pressure resistance test. If you want to get a good score in the pressure resistance test, simply make the outer shell made of tough metal. G-Shock has a model with a titanium alloy outer shell, so I recommend you to use that for the test. However, being hard is not the same as being strong.
He cannot scratch it with that metal knife. The knife just glides across the surface with whatever force you apply. It's due to the hardness of the glass. Original G-Shocks generally use Mineral glass and/or sapphire glass which comes second only to diamonds in terms of hardness. (It should be noted that hardness does not mean resistance to breaking rather hard substances are generally brittle.) You'll either need an object made up of diamond or sapphire itself to scratch the glass. I have tried scratching my G-Shock with knives and other metals which generally do nothing. But things were not the same when I tried it with sand. It got scratched with sand. (I looked it up and found that sand contains mixture of many minerals which includes sapphire and even diamonds in some cases) . My point is it's nearly impossible to scratch it that easily with metal. It's otherwise if you're applying force like a maniac to that little glass.
I have the same G-shock, it's a really nice watch and very reliable, as any Casio is. That being said it's a weird test because the G-shock line is built to resist falling, it has to be water proof, so they have to resist shocks and water infiltrations more than sustain weights. That poor vostok tho, it looked like it was running fast and probably wasn't worth the cost of servicing, but as a watch enthisiast it still breaks my heart to see it getting destroyed (I feel a little bad for the fake one too).
The 12$ one is only 10% of the original’s price, but took almost 50% of the weight the original one took. So certainly, I’ll go for the 12$ product because it is 90% cheaper but also 50% capable of the original one.

That’s because it’s a heavy duty mineral glass. A sapphire crystal is more scratch resistant than mineral, but it’s also more likely to have shattered under the same pressure. The other two watches probably had acrylic crystals, which is why it bent rather than shattering or popping out of the bezel intact.
In the 70s watches were pretty much made with acrylic crystals. I have a Waltham diver and a omega sea master both with acrylic. At the point when the movement pops out the test is over.

I love that 70's watch...pure army jem 👍
It hurt seeing that old country watch get destroyed. But I guess it's not authentic, because we all know that in old country watch destroys hydraulic press.
I love how the Fake Hold it for so Long😂😂😂
Sold my hydraulic press after seeing "Do not try this at home", now my watches are safe!
Also the old watch is metal, the real gshock would win in a variety of tests. The crystal on the 70s watch would smash with a face down drop
No. Komandirskie has plexy crystal and is very resilient, won't break in pieces if hit. Much better than glass crystal in that respect. But is much less scratch resistant than glass.
he is going too easy on the original one 1:08
Who’d have thought that a hydraulic press with tonnes of pressure would decimate a watch? I thought the press would give up like it’s being pushed back by Superman.
The original G-Shock mirror has is not broken😭 how cool💥💯
