Karen, this was a really good mini stealth declutter. If you get stuck knowing where to start, I would probably just go methodically around the room, starting at the shelf nearest to the stairs and go on one shelf at a time. I know you’ve done some shelves already, so just start where you left off. Whichever way, I think you are doing amazing well, so just keep going, like you say “little by little”. You should be so proud of your achievements to date. Robin seriously needs to take some of those excess electrical items to a recycling centre. Surely he’s never going to use all of them and most of them will probably be too outdated software wise by now. I must say, I totally agree with your methodology of only buying what you needed in the moment. We often buy more than we need just in case and end up never using it. Or we are forced by the stores to buying more because it’s cheaper (price per item/unit) to buy in bulk, so we do it to save money reluctantly. However, if we all keep buying more than we need the stores will never get the message that they are over-producing unnecessarily and begin to offer us packs of items in smaller unit amounts, because that is what the customer is demanding.

I am having a slow day today, I picked up the house and put clean sheets on my son’s bed. Running wash and gave the fridge a quick tidy and swipe out. I am taking my lunch break and watching you work! My sweet kitty had to help, of course.

If you have a spare label, I'd label Robin's trophy box on the side that is sticking out. The label you had on the long side of the box said Robin's labels anyway. Lol. I struggle with the word substitution problem too. You were writing a label so wrote label.
Would be good to do an electric recycling with as much as you can, I have 3 old laptops I want to see if I can pull the photos off of and then plan to e recycle.

Serious question.... If you need to declutter it aren't you making more work for yourself by adding to it before decluttering it? Like handling the same thing over and over instead of just dealing with it head on? I love your videos and I'm so proud of you by how far you have come in such a short time! I love the relationship you and your husband have and hope my hubby and I can have that when we have been together as long as y'all have been!!

I have a husband and son who love all the old electronics and if I touched them and threw them out my life wouldn't be worth living ....my biggest hate is cords ,even on the things we use, you'd think with all the technology we have they'd be able to get rid of them somehow ....lol
Realistically, when is the last time Robin used anything from his electronic stash? Would he be willing that if he doesn't use it by a certain date, then he gets rid of it? Most cords/wires could be re purchased if he ever needed them. As for the trophies, do any of the kids want them? If not then maybe he should put them where he can see and enjoy them until the kids toss them someday. If they are sitting in a box in the basement, then are they really that important? Some of my husbands trophies had a plaque on the base with his name and why he got the trophy, so he took off the tall part of the trophy and threw it away and my kids use the base as a paper weight.

I just DON'T WON'T the JUNK and CLUTTER anymore.
Most people reformat harddrives on old electronics before they let them go. If donated electronic are sent to other countries I would worry that my information could end up in the wrong hands. The lone cord went with the game system and the game controllers allowed more kids to play at the same time. Didn't Robin say the kids used it when they were home for the holidays?
