Ahh! Yay! I love a good garage declutter! I’m totally here for a multi part series on this. I would love to see it just progressively get better and better. A garage declutter is on my agenda for March or April. Whenever the weather is nice.
When my wife wears her hair crazy like that, I tell her "Que Hermosa!" (How Beautiful) lol! Best to just get rid of the old bed frame and extra desks, they'll bring bad mojo. How about a shed outside near the boat for the boat stuff? My declutter and organize method is more invasive... I remove Everything out of the garage, separate into piles of "keep", "donate", "sell" & "trash." Vacuum, sweep, dust and mop the garage. Sketch a layout how the stuff should be placed, then bring the "keep" contents back in methodically (i.e. storage, tools, gym, etc.) Consider, redoing is extra work but sometimes it helps to get a visual of how it'll fit / look. I'm liking that green ProStreet chopper. Props for giving it a go on moving it. God bless you for tackling your dad's garage!
I love a good garage clean out/declutter. Our old house had a garage. I went through it every 3-6 months. New house has a huge shop/garage. We just did a clean out/declutter last month.
Dads 😂 Good job! My dad has a rented hangar where he’s been building a kit plane since he retired 30 years ago. Custom tools, contraptions, etc. he’s 94 now and it’s time to dissolve it. I told my brothers it had to happen soon bc he shouldn’t drive, needs the money etc but I wanted nothing to do with it! 😅 Well, they’re in the process now. Whew. Anyway, you’re doing great loving things for your dad and your family. 💐💃
Aren't you glad the weather is changing for the better now? It was cold as HECK when you got here, but now it's lover-ly! Loved seeing Parker ride her little scooter around in the garage with you guys and hearing the baby was adorbs. The part about the differences in how you and Matt tackle such projects cracked me up. You nailed it!
Omg. You guys did a great job so far. I wouldn’t even know where to start and knowing there were spiders would have ended any plans to clean up right there and then. 😅
She just might. Tell her that you want to just organize her garage and then just see what miraculously goes away. That’s what my mom offered to me one time and in the end I got rid of about 80% of my stuff and she said I didn’t think you were going to get rid of anything! 😂We loaded up each of our vans and brought it to the donation center. It was the biggest learning lesson for me ever. I realized I needed someone there, just to come along with me while I made my decisions. Her suggesting to organize that area versus hey, let’s get rid of everything, was way less intimidating, so I agreed. Years later, I now have the term, body doubling, to understand how and why this actually worked for me. 😊

I would love to do this to my mother's garage. But she wouldn't get rid of anything.
