Fire Fight Australia - John Farnham "You're the Voice" ft. Brian May, Olivia Newton-John and more!
/ queenofficial
Can someone from Australia please explain to me why this song is not the Australian national anthem? 🤯
There's a reason why John Farnham is called The Voice. 71 years old and still belting out his 1986 anthem!
I was blown away thinking he would use more falsetto, he went the opposite!
Now now :( 2022
Other guy was good but couldn’t quite get there. Probably could do it while practicing but when its a big event you better hsve your technique nailed for those moments when nerves or adrenaline kicks in and there’s more tension in the throat or jaw.
@@MrZZsharka Microphone and sound issues didn't help Mitch Tambo in this instance. He's quite good. I recommend watching him on AGT.
John Farham??? OMG!!! I can't believe it... He really IS the Voice!!
The great voice of the history john Farnham forever joung voice.incredible
HOW can he still sing like that?! Amazing voice
It's Great Powerful Ballad 4Ever!!! 🎸
Music royalty on that stage!
A beautiful spectacle.
I am ashamed to say that I am late to the John Farnham fan club. So much respect
NAILED IT
AUSTRALIA❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a fantastic gesture voice and sound loved it 1000%
No one sings like this anymore.. can't help but to cry to this song
Mejor imposible amo esta cancion y con todo ese monton de estrellas wooo
Wow love him

Leave the best song for last.
Amazing
Brian🤩🤩🤩🤩
I need to know where bri got his top from because I want one
Awesome work my friends..:)
John Farnham + Brian May + ONJ ❤
Farnsey is still The Voice at 70 years old!!
'You're The Voice' is our true national anthem.
What an awesome way to honour our firies! 🇦🇺
And Mitch Tambo should/could be your new ambassador!
T. B. Should why?
John, you got this fight mate! Cancer ain't got nothing on you. Be strong. Stay strong Farnesy. 🇦🇺 loves you!!
Yes we do. A beautiful human being ❤️🇦🇺
Couldn't agree more! I'm certainly praying he does. He's firstly a very humble guy and wow, just an absolutely stunning singer.....John, YOU are the voice ❗
Kia Kaha my bro
This song is so powerful, and the entire country of Australia knows it which makes it that more special. Plus with the indigenous lyrics too, wow. I'm a proud Aussie 🇦🇺
You've no idea about ATSI people. This mob ain't my mob. Never was never will be. Love the song and effort but ain't my mob.
@@EinMagillaGorilla ??
@@g2jay183 long story short there are many cultures, not all indigenous cultures are the same
Would have been better without the ATSI stuff
First time in a long time I felt proud to be Australian
Unbelievable that John Farnham can still sing like that, the guy is 70 years old!
trumsolon he hit them notes like nothing!!
Brian May is 72!
EXACTLY
Wow, didn't realise John Farnham was 70 years old, makes me feel old now, lol.
At 58 Bon Jovi couldn't sing living on a prayer chorus n here's the legend screaming at 72 ...like a wine... Respect
I was there, sitting in the audience, totally amazed by what I was witnessing: the whole stadium was standing, dancing and singing as ONE. ❤ It doesn't fully show on the cameras. It was unbelievably intense with good vibes, energy and emotions. A wonderful way of ending this exceptional concert, paying tribute to the firefighters, volunteers and communities' unity and resilience to fight the bushfires. ❤🌱
The energy was truly incredible. I've never felt anything like it.
I felt it through the video. I am cryinggggg
One of the reasons why we don't have a successful revolution now is because we don't have songs like this anymore.
The stratospheric original of John Farnham is impossible to touch, God himself created Brian May with his arm and leg 😜 and what you get now is autotuned gibber jabber in the name of music with a dozen moving their bottoms as if the Baboons got a bunch of flies sitting on their butts.
This world is doomed!
@@triptoroy ??
@@g2jay183 yeah! What is your question 🤔
What I found the best about this entire song was that Brian was only there to play. It shows his character that he was there to play with Farnsy and co. and that he didn't want the spotlight focused on him, especially when the firies came on.
Brian is a worldly treasure and must be kept for all people to have a high standard of what it is to be a good, humble man.
Ainmire42 💯% He is a World treasure. Farnsy still has it.
Farnsy :) can every word be turned into a ab?
Abfab
Amen.
He's such a Class A gentleman!! Go Bri
what does John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John, Brian May and our firefighters have in common? They are all legends!!!! each and every one of you!!!!
Seeing Olivia and Brian May on stage together kind of blows my mind.

Aesthetic Aicha : I’ve got admit, I’m jumping up and down like a raving lunatic with the Aussie and the Yank chap. I fucking love this song! The national anthem of Australia.
Sam Arnold Hey Sam us oldies used to have the best “raves” lol I saw Police live then the next weekend it was AC/DC. They were the two last outdoor concerts until they made bigger stadium. And our Disco years were the best of both. Bands playing until midnight then the DJ took over. Yes my friends those where good days especially when you walked out of a club and it was daylight. We used to run to work lol I slept at lunch time.
I worked 10 yrs at Adelaide Entertainment Centre, working at concerts such as Foo Fighters, Eagles, Pink, Beyonce etc. John Farnham's shows were always some of the best. He always put in 100% night after night, sung with members of the crowd, and because his stage was 'in the round', he packed in more audience than most artists. He had the bare minimum stage, just him and his band, but wow....he puts on one hell of a show! The guy is an absolute Aussie legend....and world class!
Now that Olivia Newton-John is no longer with us we have had the privilege to see these legends perform together.Mitch Tambo perform the 2nd verse in his native language and the volunteer firefighters on stage. RIP Liv and thank you for the memories 🙏
Not sure how I came across this video, but the first time I watched it was the night before she died. Bit gobsmacked the next day when I heard news.
White Australia and aborigines as one 👏👏 as it should be.. we are all Australian and proud
WE STAND AS ONE 👍👏👏👏
Well done.
They’re called “ aboriginals “ at least get that right .
I am part Aboriginal, even though I may not look like it. My Grandpa was one of the stolen generation. He had no Birth Certificate, he was recorded as "Black Baby - male" under "Flora and Fauna". The world has moved forward since those days. I am now living in the US and working with my music. This clip was so inspiring considering what is happening today in the world, the US and the death of George Floyd. People have had enough of the racisim! I have, you have, we all have.
Timeless classic “we’re all someone’s daughter, we’re all someone’s son” powerful lyrics.
Jeez John's still got a cracking good voice man
He will always be THE VOICE.
@GladiatorKnightGhost, I 100% agree with you. ♥
Who's still listening queen
Love you forever 😘😍
Music for all times!
I think everyone is listening to queen again lol
I will and always listen to queen 🔥

John Farnham is one of those very rare singers that can, despite their age, still belt out a tune and makes it sound as good as when it was first released. Together with one of the best guitarists on the planet, make this such a great moment.
A real treasure - this is fabulous! Right after this concert, Queen & Adam came to New Zealand and I saw them in Wellington. I wish that John Farnham had come with them!🤩
John Farnham is an absolute legend and still has a belting voice. I've always loved this song, it's an anthem ❤🤘
When Firefighters enter to the stage, makes me cry, these Great Heroes risk their life to save people, save animals and save our planet. GOD BLESS THEM ALL OF THEM.
Saved our home!
I cried so hard when this happened and in person the energy was something I'll never be able to explain how my heart felt at that moment and the lyrics of the song matched so well
JF, our legend is recovering from major throat/cancer surgery right now. Send him your love and best wishes.💕💕
Mouth cancer, I believe? A few months ago his family, and Gaynor Wheatley, said his vocal cords are unaffected and that he's singing round the house. E❤
Got goose bumps.. As a non Australian.
Regards from Germany.
2021 and still one hell of a song!
I‘m a fellow german over here lol. But it’s true, this performance just makes me tear up. Pure joy and uniting
...so it is all the more disturbing to hear reports here in Germany, where emergency services are being hindered, even spat on and attacked. This is so sick that's why I celebrate that in Australia these amazing people are being given a little spotlight and their work and dedication is being recognized...
❤
@@soeinhenk Sadly, the only time our Emergency Services get any recognition like the above is during and shortly after a massive natural disaster.
This concert was held to raise funds to help rebuild what was lost in the horrendous Bushfires we had in 2019-2020.
At the time of this concert, most of New South Wales was gone with huge chunks of every other state and both territories also gone, lost to the ravages of fire.
In the reaches of the major cities, our firefighters are paid staff but outside of those areas, it’s all volunteers who give up their time and risk their lives to save other lives and property. They leave their paid jobs 98% of the time to go and fight against bushfires such as those that destroyed 60% of Australia during that time.
I’m Australian by birth - lived here ALL my life and I have NEVER seen New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia all on fire at the exact same time before. 🥺
@@soeinhenk we are Australian. That includes EVERYONE
It's devastating to think this is probably John's final televised performance, but uplifting that it was his most iconic song and that Olivia was sharing the stage with him
Very moving. Doubly so when Olivia came out
As a pro singer I so respect his voice ,ask any singer to sing this song in copy key , they will probably say no way
Yep, and doing it for charity to help out other Australians, which he was always so generous with. Couldn't ask for a better last performance imo. We love you John.
Imagine this concert with Freddie...
They had him on the screen. He told us to get fucked-ive never felt so honoured :)

@@SJOBrien8906 Goosebumps!! Just imagining such an epic moment!!!
The Voice, Brian, Olivia, indigenous words, the firies, the didge, the pipes, the crowd, the volume... it just goes right off!
Congratulations to Mitch Tambo. An amazing talent from the Country Music Capital of Australia 🇦🇺. I’ve watched Mitch growing up and his mum and I share the same birthday. A very proud and wonderful aboriginal family. I’m very impressed by the many talents of Mitch and his mum isn’t a bad singer also.
Mitch was AWESOME!!
@Val K ^
Ray Windred he’s great. Ray Hadley plays his music all the time. That’s how I first heard his version of ‘You’re The Voice’
@Troy Staunton, I couldn't agree more with your comment! Mitch sounds amazing!
If he's able to speak English he should use it over this primitive language
This was, next to Queen + Adam Lambert's set, the greatest moment of the night. Farnsey is always acknowledged as The Voice, the greatest singer Australia has ever produced. So we were already excited. And we knew what song he would finish with, so we were even more excited. And then when that shot of Brian May flashed up on the screen, we all went into overdrive. John Farnham doing You're the Voice with Brian May?! It was too much! We were screaming. People were having freakouts. OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! THEY'RE DOING IT OH MY GOD! the guys next to me were screaming. And this moment was so cathartic, so...in that moment, I swear I found a new plane of existence. Nothing hurt. Pain didn't exist here. I wasn't tired anymore. It was magic.

What an absolute privileged for Brian May to sing with John Farnham. Brian is one of the greatest guitarists, and he is blessed to be with one of the greatest voices Australia has.
SPECTACULAR!

The inclusion of Allan and Mitch was fantastic, it made my night when Mitch started singing, I thought that was pretty special.
@smyletuneage, thank you for this info! I was wondering what language Mitch Tambo was singing in, & WOW-he sounded amazing.
I like your songs you are the best BRIAN you are the best playing the guitar Roger the best playing the drums
I can't believe John Farnham is 70. He looks and obviously sounds much younger. His voice has not depreciated at all. A special talent.
Wow ... John Farnham still got the voice
*_INCREDIBLE!!!! John Farnham's voice is still as badass as ever._*
Shut your eyes and John could be singing in the late 80s - early 90s, not early 2020. Whispering Jack came out the year I was born. He is singing it in the original key - he is 70+. Any singer out there would kill to be able to sing like this, and LIVE. It is astounding his voice has the clarity and range still. I have recently delved into his back catalogue thanks to an American guy (Nick) who reacts to a lot of his songs. John is sublime live. He cannot be beaten.
🙏🏼🎶🦘
Just when you thought this song couldn't get any better!!! Amazing aboriginal performers and Brian May.!!!!
Rest in peace our beautiful Olivia NJ. I am so privalleged to have been a part of this night with you and felt the power of this moment at the end of the night while most people left already but we knew we had to STAY we knew it would end with a bang. You beautiful angel 💖 forever our Sandy ❤️

His projection, sustain and tone are absolutely insane for a man his age!!! He hasn’t lost a single beat!! 👍
70 years old... and still belting out the big notes! Incredible!
Long live Queen! Brian seems to have more energy than me...and I'm 36 😂🤷🤦🏻 Honestly though, He's so freaking talented and amazing!!
Not only did John attempt it in the original key, but he was a smashing success! Love you, too, Dr. May! Fabulous! 💜🎸🔊🎶
Not just this song. He also did Age of Reason, Two Strong Hearts and Pressure Down in his set and I swear it was note-for-note to the album versions. He was AMAZING.
To think this was the last time we heard Olivia sing and quite possibly the last time we hear John sing. 😢
Brian brings this to another Level. Long live queen and freddie mercury

Freddie : Good words , good deeds , good music 🎵🎵🎵
MORTIMORE
Those are the words of the Bulsara's family religion. That is a quote from the ancient Zoroastrian religion, in which Freddie and Kashmira were taught to abide by their parents!
It was said, Freddie's father used to say it to him every time Freddie left from a visit. Freddie respected it and by the most part, lived by those words.
I get what you're saying though. Much of the movie isn't truth. But, this was.
MORTIMORE
Ive read it in many articles/interviews that were given by either a family member or close friends of Freddie's. Edit: I know if what I read is bogus.
I've been a fan since the 70s! That doesn't make me know everything but, it does make me aware of what's true and what's not. I know who Freddie's friends were and who scammed him.
Anyway, here's what I have for you, with a quote from his sister. I hope this helps.
Freddie Mercury and his Zoroastrianism faith was something that was kept out of the public eye. The legendary musician known as Freddie Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar (now part of Tanzania) in 1946. The Bulsara family are part of the Zoroastrian faith and Mercury was raised within this tradition.
His father was a civil servant for the British Empire, so the family lived in India during the young Freddie’s formative years. Mercury attended boarding school in India and it was during this time that he learned piano, fell in love with rock ‘n’ roll, got the nickname Freddie and formed his first band.
Zoroastrianism is the oldest monotheistic religion in the world and its prophet Zarathustra was the first to introduce to theology the concepts of heaven and hell, and the struggle between good and evil.
Although these days Zoroastrianism is seen as a minor religion, its teachings have inspired many scholars and artists throughout the centuries, including, Mercury.
Freddie Mercury may not have actively practiced the faith, but it certainly played a role in his determination and outlook on life.
His sister, Kashmira Cooke, discussed this in an interview in 2014: “I think what [Freddie’s] Zoroastrian faith gave him was to work hard, to persevere, and to follow your dreams.”
'Good thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds.’ It teaches sharing, generosity and kindness as part of its doctrine and Mercury was known to be all of those things.
He was an extravagant spender, not just on material goods and parties, but he also privately gave large sums of money to charities and was known to lavish gifts on friends and to help those close to him.
I've read quite a bit about Freddie Mercury. I'm never going to be one to say I know everything but I will say I know that those words were instilled by his family through their faith.
He was also given a Zoroastrian funeral service.
MORTIMORE
However,
The OC said, Good Music, and we both misread it!
MORTIMORE
Go to your search bar and type in, Freddie Mercury and the Zoroastrian religious faith.
Go to Peter Freestone's blogs, like I did. Also, check-out Freddie Mercury, What He Left Behind by David Evans and Peter Freestone. Look up, Freddie Mercury's Family Faith! Anthology of World Scriptures by Robert VanVoorst (Zoroastrian religion and, Freddie Mercury).
Zoroastrian History, The Vintage News, Freddie Mercury, Kashmira Bulsara Cooke interview!
Type into your search bar interviews and articles you'd like to read and see about, Good Words Good Deeds Good Thoughts and Freddie Mercury! Because, it's all there! This wasn't a few weeks of reading. It was months into years! There was no social media in the 70s-90s. Well after Freddie died, we were able to look him up on the Internet, without books! Everything I've learned and looked up about Freddie, interviews articles and inserts are in my personal computer files. I'm not sure what you're looking for. But, I gave you a nice answer the first time.
This second time seemed like an argument to me because if you're a hardcore fan as you say you are, you'd know how to look it up for yourself! The search bar is your friend as it was mine for months! It's all there and it's all true. Freddie used those words in his lifetime. He was a great man! In every single way possible! Go look up what his band members say about him. What Elton John says about him! What everyone says about him. Nobody ever had a bad word to say about Freddie Mercury!
God, John is really THE voice, i can believe it... This song is like a hymn, every time I hear it, thrills me

0:00 this man's name is Brian May
Cameraman : no its not
The cameraman messed up before this too - as Farnsey introduced the didgeridoo player he flashed a shot of Brian on the big screens, which meant 70,000 people LOST THEIR SHIT before Farnsey could figure out why.
Why is the intro now cut? Remember - I have a little treat for you now ... Allan where are ya and then the didg player Allan McKenzie is introduced ... HE IS ONLY AUSTRALIAS LEADING INDEPENDENT SOCIAL MEDIA ARTIST. This bruthas art is in my daughters school and he has art all over the world ... he raised money and donated to grass roots communities, does culture with kids from Youth Off the Streets for years to help and is one of the best role models our young people have !! What’s gone on here???!!

Thanks Brian for coming back after your Set for the grand finalé, appreciate it mate.
Dr Brian May. I thank you for being so active in social media and keeping us informed and entertained with what is going on with you and the band. Brian you must know how important you are to us and how loved you are. Many blessings and prayers.
He is The Voice. Great live shows and a good bloke.
Absolutely fabulous. Thank you Brian. Wish I could have been part of this Aussie concert, but will have to be content with seeing you once again in Auckland and this time from row 4. Have seen Farnham here too, and Olivia live in Vegas. What a an extraordinary end to the fund raiser. xxxx
Never thought I’d see Olivia NJ and Brian May together on the same stage at the same time. 👍
That was awesome! So proud to be an Aussie 🇦🇺
Everyone on this stage is a legend in my eyes. Giving their time and talent to such an important cause.
Yet the sheer class of John shines through as he makes the effort to welcome each person as they join in. He recognises everyone, from the gesture that he makes towards Mitch as he takes the lead and the smile that he gives him once he’s finished, to rocking out with Brian, waving at a member of the crowd, kissing Liv when she comes out and pointing to the firies when they file in at the end. He connects with everyone. All while signalling to the band and of course singing the song! A born performer, true and lasting talent and most importantly a brilliant human being!
Such a beautiful, humble person.
When most famous songwriters hear another translate their song and release it they take legal action to either stop the release or receive royalties for any profit made but when John heard the full Mitch Tambo version he not only gave him his blessing he made a collaboration which has brought us closer as a nation, When you hear the story of Johns wife driving to the record studio hoping they would like his album Whispering Jack he had mortgaged he’s house he was in the fetul position on passenger floor if they say no he is bankrupt & homeless even though he’s famous, He’s a National icon only just starting to get recognised globally for he’s brilliant voice which is unmatched and when he was young it was effortless he never struggled and could go from 0-60 instantly!
made me cry hope you are recovering love from darlington uk
This may be a genuine albeit partly sad piece of Australian music history.. Olivia Newton-John's last live performance, and most likely John's as well
Thanks to them both
This is just insane thank you for sharing your talent with the world in my eyes it was a insane song now made even more insane.
