Today the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America honors Taras Shevchenko, our ensemble's namesake, on the anniversary of his birth. He was an inspiration to all Ukrainians and a major influence on Ukrainian culture and national identity. Many of his works found in his "Kobzar" have transpired into well-known musical pieces that the UBC performs in their repetoire and are known throughout the world.
