They don't have to be exciting but they sure are a help to those of us who need the info Thank you for this specifically. I am looking for these types of things as we speak
When you said I'd be surprised, I instantly thought the Scosche was going to be the better one lol. NGL, I have one in my car rn, but I have an AudioControl LC6i I'm swapping it for once I install my 4 chan and new door speakers. By ear I didn't think it was all that bad, but I guess I'll see when I swap them. Thanks for the heads up about the other brand, I'll be getting one instead of giving my brother the hand me down Scosche when I do his build.
Not that exciting I find it very exciting as a matter of fact I purchased one as soon as I saw your video and I'll be hooking all my gear up tomorrow and I am very excited LOL thanks for the great content man you just picked up another subscriber
I bought the recoil QLOCD because the android 13 head unit I put in my wife's car has to be super low power , because I have to turn the gain up way to high on the recoil 600w 1 channel amp, that's pushing a single infinity 12, no clipping or distortion, just have to turn gain up 3/4 of the way and remote knob to full volume to get it bumping loud like it should a 310w RMS, the higher line output voltage into the amp should correct this problem, or at least I think it will
I’m between the Kicker kisloc2 and the recoil qlocd here in the video. I’m a little bit confused as to how the wires hook up to the recoil. Is is like a set screw or are there connections that come with the converter?
My Scosche LOC25Sl just crapped out, it still turns the amp on but the signal will not go over 0.1v. I searched for a video for some insight on this Scosche LOC and came across this video. I am ordering the Recoil LOC right now.
I have a recoil 4 channel LOC and I get a high pitch noise of feedback the moment I turn gain up even a tiny bit It does not increase with volume or with gain. It just activated or deactivated the moment gain is anything other than zero.
I bought the Recoil RP 1200 on 4 skar 8 SDR's but I know my KICKER LOC is causing issues. BADLY... Ordering this loc now. Thanks brother! You called it on the Recoil amp!!! You never elaborated on powered vs non powered LOC?? Maybe that's the reason for the quality, having a powered LOC makes a huge difference on maintaining line voltage.
awesome video bro you got my like. You showed a great demonstration and example of how actually worthless the scosche I had before was. You convinced me im getting the recoil its coming tomorrow for my 2 10s custom box skars.
What do you think about the Recoil RLOC2-LC ? I like the idea of a remote control knob. Any other suggestions? Could I add a control knob to the QLOC that you suggested? 2004 Dakota stock radio
So i have the recoil qlocd and i have it hooked up to my factory amp in my car. The wires i tapped off of were the rear speakers, the remote, and the 12v constant. All of those wires i tapped off of are going into the factory amp, i spliced them at the harness. I have a ground wire going to where my aftermarket amp is grounded as well. The only wire i do not have hooked up is the “common-“ does this wire need to be grounded? Also when i first turn on my ignition the qlocd turns on (the red light indicator comes on) then about 2 seconds after that the maximum light or yellow light shines then the whole thing turns off. Should note my aftermarket amp turns on when the qlocd does but when the maximum on the qlocd turns on my amp goes into protect and shuts off. Could anyone plz help me with any info i am stumped
No it doesn't effect the line out section...it is only if you need to use the remote turn on wire. If you provide a positive constant power it will sense the audio input and then give you a remote on ( blue wire) I tried with power and no power and made no difference so in video I did not bother to hook up power.
@HiFi Vector yes and how do I combat that? I see that in this video if the voltage is too low you get a distorted signal. What's happens if it's too high? Will this product enable you to adjust voltage?
@@dragon76er The high or low voltage doesn't really mean distortion. Most normal RCA voltages are from 1v to about 6 volt. I believe on the Taramps model you have the reason they want only 2v or less rca input voltage is because if it is higher the amps gain knob sensitivity will go up. As they designed the amp around 2v or under pre amp input voltage. I do know a lot of people who runs those and havent heard of an issue and I know most of the guys never checked their RCA voltage. But if you like you can use a DSP like this to reduce your pre amp ouput voltage. Or You can use this Line out converter do do it as well. Will the reocil suffice in a 2012 ford f150 with sony navigation stereo system for an aftermarket sub install? I was told by my local car audio store that I needed the 47KEYLOC by kicker which was an astonishing $130. I'm sure it does great but does this recoil basically do what I need it to do which is run my aftermarket sub and amp with the factory head unit?
Yea same. It needs speaker connections and this recoil needs a power and ground. For a line out converter that doesn’t require power or ground and only speaker inputs I’d recommend this kicker. amzn.to/3FW4frq
@HiFiVector thank you, unfortunately I currently have the Scosche, I have a scar vd8 2 ohm sub, sealed box and an rp800 monoblock amp. Would love some advice in reference to setting the gains correctly do I have to have the line out converter all the way open to see the correct voltage coming off of the the amp to get it close? I just ordered the recoil to change it out
@@HiFiVector TY, 1 last question, with the recoil can i hook my positive speaker wire to the remote in to give it power for remote turn on? my schoshe uses it and ive seen others do the same with kicker all in one sub/amp?? just figured i would more expert opiniob
I have a LC2i (not the pro) and idk how to set the accubass feature on it. I know there is a small arrow on the side but im not sure how that all works. I cant find anything on the web or you tube showing how to actually use it. The one video i did find was of a lc7i but he didnt mess with the accubass at all.
I know im late as can be on commenting but i tell ppl all the time that the walmart LOC is bad n point to this vid for proof !!! But i was asked about the remote turn on...is it like the lc2i n turns on by signal or do u have to run a remote ???
You have to give it a ground and a power, but it does have an auto sensing feature that sends out a remote turn on signal when it senses music from the input.
Tossing up a like for real bro that was super informative BUT unfortunately the item is unavailable on Amazon now so I’m back to square one searching for the right LOC, any other units you’ve tested? Going to look through your channel later today
I know this wasn’t the point of your video but i can’t find the answer anywhere on the 2sl what kind of wire do i use when connecting the blue remote wire that’s next to the rca outputs to my amp. Again the answer could be obvious i just seem to be overlooking the answer
For a remote wire you just need 18AWG stranded 12v wire with a flexible coating like silicone. Some of the stuff at the local auto parts stores is stiff and hard to manipulate. You can use 16AWG also but not necessary, 18awg is fine. Here is a link to some good cheap remote wire: amzn.to/3IBI7Vm
The guy that does recoil use to do cerwin Vega mobile for a while before he started recoil the kicker line out is the cheapest it been tested as clean the recoil look better lol 👌👍✌️🎶🎧🎤💯
Yep very cool. Yea the kickers are very good as well I use them all the time but the recoil has more features for the price indeed. Thanks so much man for watching!

Recoil makes really good budget electronics.
Thanks for reviewing 👍
I have a couple Recoil products and I'm impressed with what you get for price..thx.
What is the maximum input watts for the Recoil?
Bro I have the first one you tested I wish I found this video before I installed it. I'm getting a new one asap!! Thanks bro.
You’re very welcome thank you!
Thanks for info. Great knowledge. The kicker LOC has a remote wire built in. But now I know recoil is clean too🎉
Yes the kicker are great as well thanks so much for watching!
I believe that the Recoil is the same as the older Install Bay stuff. I was thinking about trying one as a low-level line driver.

Um the silver knob on the recoil is the same as the knob that you didn’t connect on the scoche 🤔

Cerwin Vega also makes a very similar converter, almost identical. Wonder how it performs?

Can you do the cheapest skar 2 channel loc?
Can you use the recoil on a home stereo ?
Hey I just bought this!! How do I connect the speaker wire to the thing it has a strange connector hookup deal
You just take the pos and neg speaker wires and connect to the input block.
Nice video brother enjoying watching
Thank you 👍
Would I need one of these if I already have an aftermarket head unit?
No, you won’t need it cause your head unit has RCA output already
But I don’t think my rca signal is as good as this one. Plus I like the clip light too lol. Could I use 1 anyway?

Did you fix this problem?
I noticed that you did not hook up power to the Scosche. Would that make a difference???

Thanks for your response. I hooked up a Scosche LOC2SL to a Rockford Fosgate amp and subwoofer and it sounds pretty good.

I'd like to see a clip test on that recoil just to see how accurate the indicator is.
Thank you for the informative video!

Sadly i bought of these and the speaker inputs aren't turning it on. Anyone have this issue?
I have a taramps ds 800x4 and the manual says 2v max. What impact on the amplifier does a higher voltage have?

What do you think about the new LOC4? Still good quality?
I haven’t tried it but usually all recoil stuff is legit.
So why doesn't this or these turn off, everyone says there Amp are staying on all the time with no key on , No power to it?
Because they ran the blue switch wire to the wrong fuse under the hood.

Is the wiring the same on both. I regrettably have the scosche LOL tapped into the rear deck. If I purchase the recoil one is it just plug and play?
Yea same. It needs speaker connections and this recoil needs a power and ground. For a line out converter that doesn’t require power or ground and only speaker inputs I’d recommend this kicker. amzn.to/3FW4frq
I just hooked up a scosche yesterday.. so its trash?
Yea I would swap it out with one the ones I put in the video description
