    A MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) is a type of field-effect transistor that is widely used in electronic devices and circuits. It is a three-terminal device that can be used as a switch or an amplifier. The MOSFET has three layers: the source, the drain, and the gate. It operates by controlling the flow of current between the source and drain terminals using an electric field generated by the gate terminal. MOSFETs are commonly used in various applications, including power amplifiers, voltage regulators, and digital logic circuits.

    Hello! can you help me?
    I have a problem with one of amplifier, sine wave output is in the noise (noise is 0,520v wthout any signal) (replacing change amps can (but too cant) help for a moment with clean sine wave, but after 1-5 minutes sine is back to noised sine wave.
    What is causing this problem? RCa input is clean. After my test with third amplifier, for a moment i got better sine wave in second amplifier, The problem: Amp blowing speaker much before distortion output, bass is weak / weird, flexing car but i dont hear and fell presure, Wave sine on out amp is rippling like Phase reverse - back normal - reverse - back normal itp. In warm temperature sound (bass) can be much better for a few minutes only. Or sometimes multipe disconect power wires can help back clear sine wave
    Which issue fits this problem?
    Input noise, Resistor noise, Thermal drift. And how to solve this problem. Thanks!

      @@cedricdebossrepairsUpington I am looking for a new mosfet; it shows that 4 of 6 are bad. But I think that they may just be linked and who knows which are actually bad and which are not. I have a question what happens if you don’t have the info about the mosfet’s vgs does it need to be a certain vgs? Volts options for what I searched are 55v and 60v. The mosfets say: IRF44v(not n). So does it matter what voltage you have?

      You must check the model number on the MOSFET and replace that mosfet. If a mosfet starts getting physically hot then it means it getting more current than it can handle or was meant to handle. The quickest fix is identify the heated mosfet and change it.

    Thank you for a thorough and clearly explained tutorial sir!! Just a couple quick questions, if that’s alright:
    1. @ 4:02 , the MOSFET on the board measured 0.148 voltage drop; but doesn’t a good MOSFET require ~ 0.3 - 0.7 voltage drop?
    2. In your PCB troubleshooting process, do you test each component 1 by 1 until you land on the faulty one?

    • @cedricdebossrepairsUpington
      @cedricdebossrepairsUpington  Рік тому +1

      Answer to question 1 is the voltage drop when it’s connected to the circuit can be confusing at times that is why to get the correct voltage drop you need to disconnect the power mosfet from the circuit first.
      Question 2 answer is I always troubleshoot using the reverse engineering method.

    • @bigmedge
      @bigmedge Рік тому

      @@cedricdebossrepairsUpington Thanks for your prompt response sir. Can you please clarify how your reverse engineering method works?

    • @cedricdebossrepairsUpington
      @cedricdebossrepairsUpington  Рік тому +1

      Reverse engineering works like this if you have a missing 12volts on the output you start from the output section and trace back all the connections which are connected to the 12volts power rail inorder to restore the missing 12v

    • @bigmedge
      @bigmedge Рік тому

      @@cedricdebossrepairsUpington does that mean you check for continuity between each 2 consecutive components on each trace? Or just check each individual component to ensure it’s within spec? (this is my last question, I promise 🙂)

    • @cedricdebossrepairsUpington
      @cedricdebossrepairsUpington  Рік тому +1

      Continuity will help you identify the components on the rail and you can individually isolate the potential faulty components by removing them and checking them out of the circuit. If there is a short and you remove a component and the short is gone then automatically that component removed is faulty. You can contact me on my Facebook page for more detailed info if needed.
