Hard to believe that Super Mario as a franchise will be 40 years old in just 2 years and we're now getting a very decent looking movie of it.

Brian Tyler's music in that clip with Mario and toad touring for the Peach Castle was really good.

Honestly I’m glad. The mario movie is going to have a fully-orchestrated Disney-style soundtrack (the composer confirmed on Instagram). I would be disappointed if they went with mediocre MIDI generic Hanz Zimmer trailer music for the whole movie.

They should have stopped. The second this started playing in the trailer, I immediately groaned mentally. Theres no reason for this song to be in any of this movie’s promotion. As you said, its mario. They did not need to go hard. In fact, going hard is actually a detriment here because the music clashes with the mood of the movie, which makes the trailer fee messy and unprofessional.
Dont get me wrong. The song is good. But whoever decided this is the direction they had to take needs to be fired.

Not sure if this is actually official or just a really solid, almost perfect recreation. But it’s missing like one instrument in particular at 0:47, and it’s missing the whole segment at the end that played over the trailer’s end title card.

I thought it might be cool that if Bowser gains ultimate power by getting the last power star, or something like that, there's a ripple effect felt throughout the various Nintendo galaxies. Hyrule might see something strange in the sky or Fox McCloud's ship might unexpectedly power down for a few seconds etc.
Or perhaps in the CoD Zombies universe the zombies' eyes could briefly turn orange

Shame more of this wasn't in the film. Music worked indeed for the film and did it's job well, but this is actual next level. Blends the 1-1 theme with epic cinematic vibes. More of this would've been actual fire.
