The axles count for the last CSX crossing Main St. in Walton at night was 362 according to the defect detector. But that doesn't make sense. 362 minus 12 for the two locos = 350 and that doesn't divide by 4 evenly. There must have been an articulated auto rack in the train that I missed. 🤔
Go to 23:21 in the video. There is one articulated auto racks car LOL. That what caused that odd count. Now, I did get a weird count on one a couple months ago though. I got one with an odd number count and it was in the snow. It had to have been an error. Thanks for watching!
Yep, there are a few types of cars with lower weight, such as single stacker intermodal well-bottom flat cars and auto racks, that share one truck/2 axles between cars so the axle count is not a multiple of 4, plus the locomotives usually have 6 axles each, although some of the lighter/smaller ones have 4.

It's Friday morning train action in Kentucky with my coffee watching an Intermodal Train, a couple of DPU's, a CSX, a Norfolk Southern, a lot of exciting crossings and small towns along with of course the amazing adorable super pets at home and the nice rockin' music slide shows as always thank you again Jaw Tooth and have a wonderful weekend. ☕🚂🚃🚃🇺🇲
I watch your videos as I work and it so calming to hear the train horn and then the click, click, click. But the best part is I stay about a 4th of a mile from a rail line so I can see a train almost every couple of hours. Well tonight was a great night. Right before the last train blew it's horn a train coming into town started to blow it's horn. So I had two horns blow at the same time. I could hear the click of the train outside along with the train on the video. What was that old beer commercial slogan? Cold, crisp, and refreshing-It doesn't get better than this. And since it is cold 37C degrees, 3F for my Canadians, this slogan is perfect. Keep the videos coming.
That's a great story! It's amazing how the train sounds can create such a calming atmosphere. I always look for motels next to the tracks. I have literally stayed in dozens lol. Thanks for watching my videos!

That first double stack must have been running on a approach, because that train is a hotshot and would be running at max if the signal was clear, or he might have had a speed restriction at that location....? Hey JT, you was wondering why those trains were going so slow they do that when the tracks has been froze for so long like up there where you live because that rail will break like a piece of glass because it is so contracted from being froze and those cars with those real bad flat spots on the wheels if they hit that rail in the right place, it will break the rail and cause a derailment so normally they have them restricted down to 35 miles an hour and 25 mile an hour and a curve. I know it started snowing down here in Pearl River Louisiana Tuesday morning at 5 AM And snowed till 6:30 PM that evening and did not rain at all and they had all of the trains running through my town running on a 35 mile an hour restricted speed and they just turned a loose this morning about 430 and told them they could start running track speed again But anyway, my friend another awesome video and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one and I hope you got some good ones for us to watch this weekend

Hey JT...the coldest temperature I ever photographed trains in was minus-18 degrees at the former NYC station in Poughkeepsie NY. No videos back then...I was shooting still 35mm images with an SLR camera. The shutter froze after taking about three shots, and I retreated to my car every few minutes to thaw-out the camera, not to mention my hands!! Incidentally...it's 37 degrees right now (12:42 AM Jan 25) in Central Florida...a mere few miles from where you'll be next month!!! Giving you a "heads-up"...

@@JawTooth yep, that is why at work there are check list. they verify each step, to insure everything is done. with regards to the axels if it was the container train, there are articulated sets of cars. which will screw up the axel count. I think 5 car sets with shared axels 5 axels for 5 cars.
Wednesday Evening on the way home from church, I got stopped in Carlisle for a South Bound CSX. It had been on the tracks before I got there. I saw a lot of tankers, car haulers and the DPU in the middle. About 7:40 PM.
In Olds Alberta the railway line crosses a busy highway and with the trains being 2 miles long it really makes a traffic jam in the town but after a couple of minutes the traffic is rolling smoothly. I saw a train passing through Olds the other day and it had 5 locomotives running like 2 engines 85 cars 2 engines another 85 cars and 1 engine running at the end and the train was carrying potash and fully loaded the train was carrying 20 000 tons of potash and I was saying to myself oh my goodness the train was long and all 5 locomotives were smoking a little bit so they were working hard

Hey JT, you was wondering why those trains were going so slow they do that when the tracks has been froze for so long like up there where you live because that rail will break like a piece of glass because it is so contracted from being froze and those cars with those real bad flat spots on the wheels if they hit that rail in the right place, it will break the rail and cause a derailment so normally they have them restricted down to 35 miles an hour and 25 mile an hour and a curve. I know it started snowing down here in Pearl River Louisiana Tuesday morning at 5 AM And snowed till 6:30 PM that evening and did not rain at all and they had all of the trains running through my town running on a 35 mile an hour restricted speed and they just turned a loose this morning about 430 and told them they could start running track speed again But anyway, my friend another awesome video and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one and I hope you got some good ones for us to watch this weekend

Hey JT...the coldest temperature I ever photographed trains in was minus-18 degrees at the former NYC station in Poughkeepsie NY. No videos back then...I was shooting still 35mm images with an SLR camera. The shutter froze after taking about three shots, and I retreated to my car every few minutes to thaw-out the camera, not to mention my hands!! Incidentally...it's 37 degrees right now (12:42 AM Jan 25) in Central Florida...a mere few miles from where you'll be next month!!! Giving you a "heads-up"...

usually the information is given by the carrier to the FRR, usually once it is in their yard. they do safety inspections.

yep, that is why at work there are check list. they verify each step, to insure everything is done.
with regards to the axels if it was the container train, there are articulated sets of cars. which
will screw up the axel count. I think 5 car sets with shared axels 5 axels for 5 cars.
I saw a 1939 Lasalle railroad car at a car show in Toledo

Wednesday Evening on the way home from church, I got stopped in Carlisle for a South Bound CSX. It had been on the tracks before I got there. I saw a lot of tankers, car haulers and the DPU in the middle. About 7:40 PM.

In Olds Alberta the railway line crosses a busy highway and with the trains being 2 miles long it really makes a traffic jam in the town but after a couple of minutes the traffic is rolling smoothly. I saw a train passing through Olds the other day and it had 5 locomotives running like 2 engines 85 cars 2 engines another 85 cars and 1 engine running at the end and the train was carrying potash and fully loaded the train was carrying 20 000 tons of potash and I was saying to myself oh my goodness the train was long and all 5 locomotives were smoking a little bit so they were working hard
