Thank you for the video!! This is just what I was looking for and after an hour and a half of watching other videos that didn’t talk about this problem, I finally found it!! UA-cam and google kept showing me videos of bottom freezer water lines not working or leaking from bottom. Thank you so much!
I had the same issue and replaced the line with the one from Amazon. Could not just pull the elbow out as there was ice holding it in. Poured hot water down and tugged and 15-20 minutes later I got it out. Had ice again for 3 weeks and then a flood on the floor, bottom of cupboard, etc due to a hole in the same place on the “new” one. Put off putting another one in as there must be something else going on.
Ordered my replacement line yesterday. Concerned there is a freezing issue within the line that may be causing the damage and it could happen again. Did you have any reoccurrence of this issue? I have read that the inlet valve may also need to be changed to avoid this problem again in the future. A bad inlet valve allows a small amount of water to enter the line at all times which freezes and clogs the line up and the resulting pressure build up causes this leak.
I have one that continues to freeze up and puncture the tube at least once a year. I believe after it does it the first time the water leaks into the insulation between the liner and outer shell. Once the insulation value is decreased from the moisture damage that it will continue to freeze up. A manufacturer defect. I see that they have changed the version of icemaker and went back to just the one in the freezer.
I have a similar problem except on a Kitchenaid Architect Series (Model ksrg25fkss18). The line enters the fridge high at the back but different to the model in this video. The internal housing on my fridg is also different from this video. Has anyone found a fix video?

Thank you 🙏🏽! Glad I could be of help!
great video, thank you. Do you have to turn the water supply coming into the fridge before doing this?

I wish my boyfriend was handier so I didn't have to do this stuff.
