Thank you! Had no idea this was so easy, I could see there was water dripping when the icemaker filled, but I had no idea how to track it down inside the fridge.
This was great. Thank you. You’re not kidding that you may need to use a hair dryer to defrost when removing the bulb. Mine was very difficult to remove and I didn’t believe it was because it was frozen in. I was wrong. Once I defrosted with the hair dryer, it came out. Everything else went smoothly thanks to your clear instructions. Thank you!
Thank you very much for creating this video walk-through. There is no way I would have figured out where the components were inside the refrigerator or how to remove the access panels!
Great video but doesn't solve my issue. Are there instructions somewhere, or can you provide a little guidance on how to perform this repair for the Whirlpool model EC3JHAXRL13? The access panels for the water supply and feeder must both be different. The filter is bottom mount, and I don't see any access panel on top of the refrigerator. Thanks in advance!
@@appliancepartspros MFI2569YEM0, I believe I figured out that I have to replace the reservoir. The hose that it cracked is the supply line coming out of the back of the fridge right behind the water filter.
My bulb at the top of the refrigerator was cracked, which didn't show a leak on the outside of the fridge but leaked inside into the back of the compartment and down under the drawers. Weird.
This is excellent. My bulb was cracked and it started leaking down the frig and settling water on top of the freezer at the bottom that pooled and froze some.
The bulb (90 degree) on this line at the top of the fridge in my original one burst so I purchased and installed a replacement. It worked for about 2 weeks then it burst as well. Any next steps I can take to keep this from happening?
In my case the issue is that it's very easy to leave the left top door open (it happens so subtly that the door sensor doesn't even detect it), which causes the ice to melt and once the door is shut, the water freezes again inside the tubes.

It does sound as if the reservoir would be what is needing to be replaced. The part number you would be looking at is AP5631141. Below is a link to that part so you can look at it. www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-reservoir-w10502642-ap5631141.html

The bulb burst overnight due to ice build up spewing water everywhere. Thanks to this video, I was able to fix it in less than 20 minutes!

Great video and solved my problem.
Glad you were able to get your problem solved. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
How do you replace the supply line coming in from the back and what is that part number? Mine has real fine cracks in it that started leaking. Thanks.
What is your model number of the fridge?

Make sure your water valve isn't running open all of time, causing pressure to build up.
Where do I apply the permagum?
I'm not showing where permagum is used for this repair.
What causes this line to keep freezing up?
