This is genuinely THE best tutorial I've come across in the few years I've been practicing blender on and off. It really motivated me to try sculpting again and try to face my fear of creating clothes and faces
That's an instant subscribe to you Noggi. Apart from peeps at BlenderF, I've never seen even Blender Guru make actual use of the sculpt brushes this way, like, the way they are supposed to be used. Thanks for this eye-opening video, and lots of hugs : 3
The timing of your video appearing in my feed is perfect, I'm creating my first clothing collection! You explain everything so well and so calmly, very easy to follow. Thank you so much for tutorial and help 💜
This is so helpful! Thank you! For random distribution of pores etc. I would pull up the "Jitter" in the brush settings. That's even more random than going in circles!
Wow I found this at the perfect time.... I have been wondering what was the best way to do this in blender...thank you so much it really is a very helpful tool...you are a star⭐
Wow amazing. This is exactly what I was looking for. You werent kidding about saving hours. Thank you 1000x I like your style because I very much like to do things fast! - but also efficient:)
Border brush is awesome! Thanks for sharing. A nice way for collars, ruffled cuffs and skirts, etc. Still learning Blender as I'm currently a Zbrush user. I like the usage of the link brush for "posing" and the mask and colored face sets brush similar to Zbrush . But tbh, I do like the transform control (pivot, rotate, scale) a bit better in Zbrush though. I'm trying to think if there is a better way in Zbrush to achieve the border brush features though. Maybe selecting the border (can also select masked border with zmodeler too), then turning on array mesh or maybe radial symmetry (with brushes or cloth sim) but there is probably a better way.
You had just saved me a ton of time for making this video. Thank you, this has made it easier for me to make my things such as the masks that I've been designing for 3d printing.
And odd thing that I noticed with the falloff curves, is that I have to set the "Tip Roundness" to something high like 1, to be able to see the effect of the curves on the brush. Otherwise, the alpha gets cut off and all the falloff curves end up looking the same when you sculpt. It had me confused for a while thinking the curves were not working because the default setting is 0.
Wow all of this is such a time saver and so useful. It’s a lot of information for me to take in so I’m gonna have to save this video. I’m definitely subscribing tho. You explain and demonstrate everything very clearly. Good video
I'm curious how do you find out this stuff? Do you just experiment with blender features or do you get info from somewhere? I REALLY want to learn as much as possible. so finding out these features is gold for me. Maybe to can recommend some good sources to learn so so much?
I read through every brush on the Blender Manual site and saw some tips and tricks on Pablo Dobarro's twitter account when he was still working as a developer for Blender. :)
If anyone hasn't recognized it yet i believe the thing he's using to demonstrate this is in fact not a thing actually but a character from a videogame and if I'm correct than this character that he's using to demonstrate this is none other than Y'shtola Rhule from final fantasy 14 online in her shadowbringers outfit
@@Noggi_3D I was watching your new tutorial on hair curves when I saw the notification. Something I was desperately looking for ways to do hair for my project. Thank You Again for being amazing. :)
Hey Noggi is there a way to add a pattern to mesh like you did with the sewing band but instead of drawing it manually and free hand you select the faces or area and apply the effect, like a stamp?
I was also wonderin who is the model you design at this video I was thinking for 2B but maybe not :) Anyways great video absolutely amazing I never check the tools options there is so much options there.
When I grab an edge, the edge follows my cursor so instead of making waves like at 2.25 in the video, the edge folds over alongside a very few waves. All the settings are same as in the video (at least the ones i can see there)
Hi thank you for teaching blender I learn a lot from u but I have a question! Can you tell me about 3d prints?! I don't know my character that I sculpt can be print as solid obj in real life or not can you tell me about that!?
Extremely useful! Just just finished sculpting the damn skirt by hand. And it's actually was kinda painful to watch you sculpting in a second something, that took me like 2 hours.
Right, I said the most annoying thing about doing everything in 3D... you spend 3 hours on something to find out later there is an automatic brush that does in in 3 seconds XD
Thank you for the Video! When I use the Boundary Brush to make Ruffles it sadly bends the mesh completly over instead of making the Ruffles like you did in the Video even tho I use the same Settings.. Does anyone know what that could be? :o
I expected ONE tip for a brush. I didnt expect a whole ARRAY of them. THANK YOU! All of them are amazing
You're welcome. There's nothing better than a little surprise. :D
The boundary brush is also great for sculpting armor. It lets you easily make the rolled edges on plates.
Do you have any sources or know any videos showing this off? I would love to see examples - gonna try it out
@@philmehrart I second this
@@danielawesome36 I third and possibly fourth this

Me: Oh cool, a neat Sculpting brush!

The perfect dress to show off the brush. :D

One of the few Blender videos I've seen where someome says "You never knew about this" and was correct! Kudos, subbed!
I learned about it after sculpting in Blender for 2 years. :D
Now this is the great start of the day! Thank you for these tips!

I refer back to this video fairly often when making clothing for gaming miniature models. I wish I could give it another like every time! Thank you!!
I've been using the surface smooth mode for a while, but I didn't know about the shift + relax brush method. Gonna have to try it out!
The Slide Relax Brush is especially great for retopologized models. :)
This video was an absolute treasure trove. Instant sub!
Thankyou so much! These tips will help out so much. Especially the boundary brush settings.
Very cool video. I am going to remember this one for later. People like you are saints for scattered minds.
click on the magnet, and from there you can adjust how the tracks snap onto the grid. if you want it to be each 1/4 of a bar, click "line"
The timing for this getting recommended to me couldn't be better, it's kinda scary lmao
Thanks for the great vid!
oml this is gonna save me soo much time and effort i've been worry about how to make a pleat in my virtual skirt and folds and round shapes 0-0 TYSM

Yeah I wish blender would adopt the way the transformation tools work in Zbrush.

would be nice to see your workflow from scratch with and without any cloth addons from Blender. Epic work! Thanks for sharing!
