They're awesome, love how Marie is beating Shane😂
Shane, I really appreciate you doing these types of self defense videos. I have trained in a couple different martial arts and love the fact that you tell people to use the knife hand when performing the rear naked choke. The knife hand behind the neck is much more effective than simply cupping the back of the head. I wish everyone would watch your videos so people know how to defend themselves
6. Trap and roll mount escape; 7. Headlock escapes : a) standing b) side headlock on the ground; 8. Side mount shrimp escape (guard recovery); 9. Guard punch block defense; 10. Base get-up
Def don't throw front kicks for self defense if you haven't practiced it. You're really just opening yourself up to have your leg grabbed if you don't know what you're doing
Ive seen legs grabbed and people hit the ground not knowing the technique.
once your leg is grabbed it could be over for you
Damn Shane! your wife is gorgeous!
Much appreciated :) -- I agree!
fightTIPS How do I throw more punches in an amateur boxing fight?
JADITV good question! that is my problem, I am more accurate but I am not an offensive fighter
Dominik Vu That's my problem but my trainer says that I need to throw more punches but sometimes I get stuck
JADITV what do you mean get stuck? Your muscles fatigue and can't move or your mind blanks and get caught by shots?
Thanks Shane! gonna try it on some kids tommorow.
for anyone interested of looking up the schoolboy sweep, it's called "O Soto Gari" (big outside sweep), it's the most basic attack in Judo :)
Good call about taking street fights to the ground. Even though grappling gives you a big advantage. It won't always against multiple people.
I'm here for you Shane
Gabe Newell Give me dragon lore pls daddy
Get your lazy ass off the youtube and work on half life.
free spm =free sucks per male
Bro where's the spinning 360 heel kick, or flying armbar?
Gage Allison I was expecting some Power Ranger stuff too 😔
Omaplatas for everyone!
Gage Allison flying armbar ?
"You get a black belt, you get a black, everyone gets a black belt!!!" -OW
Y u no imanari roll ?!
Shane you should teach us how to defend the take down you showed
Step over the reaping leg. Boom. youre welcome
Push forward! Technically the person doing the sweep is in a compromised position, being on one leg.
fightTIPS how do you not run out of breath quickly in a kudo fight where you have a helmet on and the helmet steams up because you're breathing to hard
How do you deal with that Shane
Love your vids as always
Keep up the good work man
+Danyal Gul pace yourself and train ur cardio
+fightTIPS Lovely Video! Excuse me for butting in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Chireetler Dread Free Rule (should be on google have a look)? It is an awesome one off guide for learning self effective defence moves without the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my friend Sam finally got astronomical success with it.
You call it the schoolboy sweep, but I know it by another name...
"CQC!?"
SNAAAAKE
fightTIPS "Kept You Waiting, Huh?"
Speaking of Snake, are there any advantages to doing his arm isolating RNC over leaving their arms free?
biohazard724 also Luke to know this
You're pretty good.
brilliant thumbnail
jay wij great clickbait for the normies
jay wij Its just someone in a guillotine choke. I don't know what you saw.
lefu Its not even clickbait. The guillotine choke was in the video.
Wrestler- Kickboxer Umm... They are talking about the fact that it can be taken the wring way. The sexual way.
Sorry Coach
I have to rewatch again.
The first time i was way too busy checking out your amazing wife 's skills.
Hey Shane i watched your videos from 3 days and they are so interesting and helpful Im only 11 (this yeat 12) years old for now and u helped me a lot for defending myself and being more stronger! Thanks so much!
Excellent video and instruction!! Thanks
Shane tu canal es excelente.
Tus tecnicas son simples y eficaces,"you keep it simple", & last but not least, you are a family guy you work with your wife and you love dogs..
te admiro.
gracias por tus fight tips.
saludos desde Uruguay.
nice video! but for the 3. technique, i think it's more effective (in a self defense situation) to put your right hand under your opponents chin instead of grabbing his shoulder
I really like the choke techniques! Man I rely appreciate your techniques.
I recommend holding ur shoulder instead of bicep for the RNC. makes the choke much tighter. 🤙🏻
Shane, this video is great, I'll use it to my advantage, thanks for the helpful tips. Although, do you mind if you take a recommendation for the next video? I reckon it would be great if you'd do " 5/10 Ways To Counter Wrestling Moves or Tackles " since street fighting kids usually do those ones, so it'd be pretty helpful to know what to do in the situation.
Nice tip practicing that choke on your knee. I'm sure you already know this, but you can spin someone around into that chokehold with your hands on their shoulders turning them around into it and once you have them in the choke you can bend their body outwards away from you to make them even more uncomfortable and so that they cannot reach you with elbows to the ribs, or anything else.
shane what should you do if someone has you in the rear naked choke?
Josevoh what about using stomps and elbows to the stomach
Joseph Furnival fight the locking arm and whizzer it into your armpit and turn as soon as you have the chance. if standing rnc, watch Bas Rutten's self defense video; easily ahead of its time
lefu ok cheers
+Joseph Furnival yes you can hit his groin, stomp feet, gouge the eye but that is after you pluck his arm to create space between your neck... it's important that you can get away from his choke first before making some other counter attack..
once you are in a rear naked choke (or actually any other) you have around 7 seconds before you get unconscious, you will barely have time to stomp or kick and if you miss or dedicate too much time and effort without result you will go down, so the best way is to avoid getting into one and that is like the others said
I like these types of vids keep em coming :P
That was very helpful. I was having difficulty practicing the chokes, and it was helpful of you to provide the techniques. Thank you!
Once I won a randori fight against a blue belt with an improvised technique that was basically a combination of the leg thing you showed in the 4th Clip, only that the other one (The Uke) was the other way around, and the choking technique from the last one. Both are very effective but combined... We also call this takedown you showed a sickle-throw. You can make it even more effective by pushing the other Person back five to ten centimeters after you closed in on them to throw them of Balance before you swipe away their leg.

2:24 attack on titan
Soggy Foggy when eren breaks armored titan armor..lol
Why are so many anime fans on youtube but in the real life I cant find one
great channel...With your tips i won several boxing and mma medals, thank you, much respect, from your n.1 fan since day n.1.
The school boy sweep is the same thing that came to me naturally!
1 video of you and I learned so much. 5 videos from someone else and i saw nothing but shoutouts to peopke in their gym
the family that trains together stays together : ) myself and my son train together.. we bond when we fight" as he said to my mother recently... nice tips, and glad to see you mention the idea of avoiding going to the ground, it is bizarre that there are people who have argued that one should go to the ground.. well, I suppose given the amount of people online.. seeing odd views, counter logical views, is pretty normal lol
Excellent video Shane...
i dont needa go to any self defence training i can just watch your videos
she is a very beautiful woman...way to go shane!...you sure did score...she has such a humble and simple expression on her face...you cant help but like her...
simplicity is beauty
I learned the rear naked choke a while back. It's the only choke I've practiced and know well.
Appreciate you thanks 🙋👍👍👍👍
Also, the ottoman Slap is a very good and easy strike that is effective. The ottomans used to do this to people wearing helmets in combat. One good ottoman slap can take disorient someone so bad that they can’t even stand properly anymore
The way you say guillotine is rather funny lol
Very cool video. This is great for men and women. I try working with my wife and daughters with these techniques. PS you’re wife is have fun Slapping you around LOL! Thanks again
just subcribed here man. I was never into learning self defense until I almost got into a bar fight the other night.
Great as always Shane
your videos are so helpful ,thanks man
watching Shane videos, learning some boxing move to lose weight
i did, but then suddenly id like to learn how to kick some ass
lol good job Shane
Great video as usual! But very useful! :)
What do you do when someone is laying sideways on you? I know this sounds weird, but it has happened tone before. At summer camp I got in a fight with an overweight boy, and I was doing fine until I fell. That's when we started wrestling. After awhile he just layed on my stomach sideways. I managed to roll him off but my head got squashed in the process. What should I do next time this happens?
I love you bro
love u 2 bro
Gabe Newell that feeling when the reply has more likes than comment
O soto Gari Shane!! I expect a martial artist of your caliber to be fluent in full japanese, Thai language, and lingustics!
this is pretty sweet. have you considered guest starring on Jack Slack's podcast?
also, how about a video on the Fedor/Dominic special of overhand to double leg?
she's so sweet, she hits ya but she doesn't wanna hurt ya 😁
TIP: An offensive way to get out of the rear naked choke (#5) is to put your hands behind your head and to push it downwards, so that your chin can hurt the muscles in your attackers forearm.
thank you and God bless
If only rumble Johnson watched this 10 hours ago
Your so good at this and even though I have never had to use these it is good to know just in case
I like y'all energy.
Great video shane, can you make a video on how to do an open palm uppercut if it's possible and a video for self defense when you're wearing glasses, I wear glasses so I'm not sure what to do
Thanks so much for ur self defense video!
Hope they're helpful!
Shouldn't you get your lower hand further inside on that rear naked choke? Like elbow-under-chin deep? I'm just a whitebelt, but my BJJ coach told me not to choke people with the forearm, as it's easier to break and also more of a windpipe choke than a vascular one.
fightTIPS, could you maybe post a video on what happens when you get knocked out or something similar? thanks bro!
Hey Shane I know you that you are more of a striker than a Jiu Jitsu specialist, so I hope no offense is taken but the grip with the guillotine is off. It needs to be more of a gable grip than a finger grip which is where you grab your hands with fingers opposing one another. Also with the ground guillotine it's deeper if you rotate your shoulder towards your hips rather than away from them. Love your vids man!
Thankyou so much
Shane can you make a video on how to build a sparbar and then maybe how to use one?
Center Line Straight Push is effective with the longest range
and safety.
great video guys
Awesome dude!!
Thank you
Thanks for the tips I was getting bullied and he swung at me and I took him down thank u
oh my god i learned #3 in my jjj class!
why am i so happy
Great coaching 😆
I've been in to street fights, I've used muay thank front kick to start it. its effective
+FIGHT TIPS after the osotogari you forgot foot sweeps force them to there support leg with pressure and sweep the weak leg
i recommend the palm things too. i broke my fingers in one fight
hey i see u on poppy blasted videos and i sub to u
Useful general rule: if you're going to hit something hard, hit it with something soft. (Works in reverse, too.)
practiCalfMRI Thats not useful at all, by using your logic, if someone threw a cinder block at me, I would use a pillow and hit the cinder block back.
I would like to point out that he forgot to mention that when u do the judo sweep u don't let ur foot touch the ground
that takedown is so useful thanks bro
Good work Shane☺
:)
Awesome video! How can we get those tshirts?
Hi Shane..
Can you show the difference between TKD roundhouse kick..
and Muaythai Roundhouse kick?
great video 👏 👍 love it can you post new 2017 shadowboxing for street fighting
RNC is tighter and more secure if you catch your shoulder rather than your bicep
Can u do a video of how to teach martial arts or teach period because my instructor told me to teach in my dojo and I'm a bit nervous because it's my first time teaching a class
i've got a tip:
don't limit yourself to aim for the head only... don't handicap yourself
edit: don't trust edited comments
You could combine the throwdown move and the guillotine choke in one move... food for thought
very good
Hi Shane, I've trained Muay Thai for 2 months. Everytime I throw a teep, I just swing my leg like a front snap kick and it's very weak. Do you have any advice?
you should raise your knees up first then kick.. you have to thrust your hips forward for power.
start using weights like hex bar deadlift and squats and leg extension (light weight high reps controlled motion) also do hamstring curls and leg press and bodyweight jumpsquats good luck
+free spm lol u bodybuilders shouldn't be coming on to these channels to give fighters advice, his weakness comes from technique. I speak from experience
It's because you're vietnamese
+Cheeky DickWaffle what does his race has to do with strength?
Just adding my 2 cents, but for the takedown it helps a lot to have one hand to push their head up and back then sweeping, I generally grab the trapezius with the hand closest to the guy and extend my elbow to move the head
best partner
Hi Shane, I've been wanting to ask you a question for a long time.I have this bully in school and I've told teachers parents and so on,they didn't help.I told my dad and he said once I told,if they don't stop the bully, for me to hit him in the nose if he touches me again. I can't build up my confidence, strategy?
Most bullies are shit at fighting. Learn how to fight and beat his ass.
I'm a good ground fighter in jiu jitsu.
Just a quick question. Are palmstrikes also good for body blows?
Shane can you make a video on being a more aggressive fighter please? Massive fan
here you go! ua-cam.com/video/_7zVsyXC1L8/v-deo.html
You have everything thanks!
I do the 5th one to my friends all the time
Do you not curl your fingers in palm strikes to reduce the risk of breaking/ spraining them?
after the takedown.. I've never seen such cute strikes😊
Please do a video on how to defnd. Against feints please
for the sweep don't set off your balance by picking up your foot and kick forward and back as hard as you can or lean back
shanes wife :ok are we done .I wanna go back to my lap
Shane,I want to practice takedown technique but I don't have any partner! what should I do to practice it?
heh. I like how Shane's wife is blinking all innocently like tweety bird during the instruction, and then she beasts out on him!
hey Shane I wanted you to ask one question, can you use martial arts on animals for self defence such as:
ji jitsu submissions on dog
wrestling with bear
boxing with kangaroo
taewondo on monkey
karate breaking techniques to break bulls horn
You can also break your fingers and wrists with palm strikes. Just wrap your hands or grapple if you really don't want to break your fingers or knuckles
Is your morning routine keys, wallet, phone, hand wraps? I agree with the first part though
You look bigger and leaner lately :)
