He should have left the project a long time ago. As soon as they tried to relegate him to 4th lead in his own movie (in favour of female leads, obviously...). the MCU is dead. Deadpool/Wolverine will do good numbers but it won't be as good as we want it to be, and it will be a momentary reprieve before it's back to race and gender swapping characters and the agenda driven garbage.

The part where Ali rejected Marvel’s choices for a substitute director highlighted a massive problem across Disney: they are choosing writers and directors nowadays that have no experience, which results in costly reshoots, massively inflated budgets and a terrible final product. All in the name of saving money in the short term. Same shortsighted Disney, it will come back to bite them soon enough.
Oh no, a multi-billion eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil company refuses to shell out more money to have a better product? Nooooooooo, I'm sure they are too poor and need all that taxpayer money to fund their products that don't even make money.
I see no sign that Disney is choosing unknown directors to save money. They seem to claim, instead, that they're doing it to 'give voices' and 'fight oppression'. It's ideology over merit and profit, resulting predictably no merit or profit, but lots of ideology.
Well, newer, inexperienced directors and writers also will owe their souls to Disney and dance to whatever nosnsense tune that Disney wants them to dance to.
I don't think they're trying to save money... and rather obviously they're not. I think instead it's an ideological goal, to 'embrace diversity' and extend opportunities to 'underserved communities'.

When a studio decides to make a movie, surely the first thing they should do is write a script that has a story that everyone is on board with, then find a director and actors that can bring that script to life. Why the hell would any studio do it any other way... Disney are 🤬🤡🤡🤡🤡
As we've seen from a lot of recent Disney Marvel movies at least, the production is fortunate if the script for the day is even written the day before. It's no wonder their recent efforts are incoherent messes pasted together and reshot a dozen times.
Their lead has already signed on to the next Jurassic world movie so that's another blow. Seriously two directors and what five to seven different writers, they should have never announced this movie. Mahershala Ali is now 50 years old. Wesley Snipes was 36 years old when Blade 1 was released (so probably 34 when it was filmed). No disrespect to Mahershala Ali, but it's kinda late to start a franchise, especially when he's currently a better fit for Whistler.
My choice for WHISTLER would be KURT RUSSELL or SAM ELLIOTT.

Marvel's Blade has been in serious trouble for eternity it seems like.
It's not uncommon for a lead actor to have their own production company in a deal with the larger producer. This allows them creative control and influence on the project. I'm guessing this is probably the situation with Ali and his deal with Marvel, which is why nobody can come to an agreement on what to do with this movie.
It was a few times mentioned in the past that Blade would be a side character in his own film with so many female co-stars. Now, since Mahershala Ali is so involved in the production, why would he, as the star of the film and basically as producer, allow this to happen? That wouldn’t make sense to me. Hey, we sure will find out one day, either when a film releases or not.

All Marvel HAS TO DO is just like Deadpool and Wolverine, just bring Wesley Snipes back to play the character, period. People would absolutely pay money to see him as Blade again, this isn’t a hard thing to do. He is a vampire hunter, have him dishing out shotgun blasts and sword fights, that will get people in the seats!
The normal way is have the script ready, before you do anything else, then you can send it to director and actors and so on, here Marvel do it the another way around.
Marvel phases 1-3 weren’t all gems, but they were decent when a lesser movie. Since phase four i would argue that Spider-Man, gotg 3, and probably Deadpool 3 have been only decent movies. I don’t see much hope beyond Deadpool 3 for marvel. I think a large portion of people are just done with Disney. Since the end of phase 3 I watched gotg 3 and dr strange 2. Dr strange 2 could have been epic but, well it’s Disney

It shouldn't be this bloody difficult, they got it right almost 30 years ago. Blade, he's cool, badass & he hunts vampires, the original films were fun & stylish but the plot was pretty straightforward in structure. That's why it worked
The original Blade had strong females, hero Karen Jensen and villain Mercury.
Blade 2 had Nyssa. Blade 3 had Abigail Whistler. They don't need to push women to the front again. Wonder Woman wasn't about Steve Trevor.

Ali’s first mistake was wanting his own “Black Panther” film in the form of a Blade film. Mahershala Ali is no Chadwick Boseman and Wesley Snipes will forever be Blade and that is all there is to say.
Ali needs to walk away for Disney has wasted 5 years of his life.
They found the perfect guy to pick up the Blade role after Snipes and the MCU is going to screw it up.
