@Makhi Makharadze that is actually plausible in real life where someone can harness their hatred and wrath towards being a better person. For example say a bully made fun of you for being weak and let's just say being too fat or skinny, someone can harness that anger towards the gym in order to get fit and prove them wrong. Or if a victim of abuse from their parents, he would use this hatred in order to become a better father for his own children knowing that he wouldn't want to be like his parents before him.
It's actually a common concept within Vedic religions. That is why so many of our deities (which Asura takes after) in our pantheons look surprisingly terrifying, fierce and angry. Their wrath isn't for wrath's sake. Their wrath comes from frustration, sadness, and anger at the inherent wrongness of mortal suffering, fueling their mission to rid the world of burden and suffering. In the game, they call Asura "The Destroyer". Destroyer Gods aren't seen as an inherently bad. Rather, they have the power to destroy the toughest of obstacles, the strength to shatter our burdens, to kill distractions, doubt and impure thoughts, in order to clear our path to nirvana. The tragedy of these types of deities is that their own selfless compassion and anger they feel for the suffering of mankind, fuels their commitment to the never ending war against suffering prevents them from attaining peace for themselves. This is a sacrifice that we see Asura make in the game. Ironically, the actual Asuras in Vedic mythology are angry for anger's sake, hence are considered a lower form of being than humans, despite being more powerful.
I still dunno why Asura's Wrath hasn't either: -Had an anime adaptation -Had a manga adaptation -Had a movie adaptation -Had a any other adaptation of some sort
What I really love about this game is that despite the main character being the most powerful being ever, he isn't a cocky asshole. He is a mourning father who is doing everything in his power to keep his daughter safe, and I think this song represents that beautifully. I believe that Asura pushes himself out of fear more than wrath. Fear that his daughter will have to witness the war and the burden of being a large cause in it, fear of losing his daughter as he lost his wife, and comrades. Literally, he bests God to ensure his daughters safety, despite it costing his life. When he was at his lowest point, he was brought down because of his fears becoming a reality (or so he thought). When his "daughter" died because of the attack on the village, and he went berserk, they didn't play some incredible, soul raising, "I want to kick ass!" theme, they played this because he had nothing left to lose. RIP Asura's Wrath. I hope that a game this beautiful gets a remaster or adaptation of some sort.
break an honest man, and you will unleash an unstoppable wrath Asura just wanted his wife and daughter to be happy, he showed us that fathers really would do anything for their kids may his soul rest, the greatest father who ever lived
Asura can't be defeated, at least, not for long. His power is tied to his anger, his wrath. The more it grows, raging inside him, the stronger he becomes. Even in death, his rage won't let him rest. He spurs on, his power so great it even defies the cold hand of death itself, returning to life with his wrath burning hotter than ever, and power never before witnessed. Not even god could stand in his way. Yet through all the anger, hate and wrath flowing through him, Asura is a force for good. A voice and weapon of innocence and justice. Even though he wished not to be worshipped so, he is a true god unlike any other.
+TheFeralBishop But you know why he wished not to be worshipped as a deity, right? He views gods as fools who simply want to rule the world and to force others to do what they themselves cannot. That is why he prays to no one nor shall he be prayed to. What good is a man that you look up to that can't defend you and relies solely on you? He finds no use in gods because he relies on himself and no one else. Any predicament he or his family gets into, he'll always find a way to make things right by his own fists. And even still, he is a mortal. Every breath he takes and every step he makes is as a man, not a god. He lived and died just like any other man. However unlike every other man, he lived defying his very comrades for the sake of others and even a so called god himself and he died by his own hands. So really he is not a man or a god at all. Rather he is a legend, an icon and an inspiration.
MrTamTam5 I agree !! :D It was the saddest moment for me :s the most epic moments are when asura remembers what the seven deities did to him in his fight with gongen wyzen, and then goes mad, EPIC !!
The song of a man who in his literal unending rage sought destruction not for his own gain But rather sought righteous wrath for all those the heavens had wronged

Be still my heart... words can not express how beautiful this is. Let me paint a picture of myself listening. Here I am, sitting down, back against the back of my seat, one arm completely limp, the other holding a tight fist against my heart, jaw slightly open and quivering, eyes wide while reading the lyrics, and quite clearly on the verge of tears.
This game story is so filled with beauty and sorrow. The music represents this theme; none of the music is heavy rock based (except Yasha's which has a nice cowboy whistle thing going on) instead filled with suspense or restrained emotion. Even the final bosses music is eerily calm and quiet; yet the music in the game only enhances the feelings of Asura. This isn't a game about a blood thirsty man bent on revenge but a man whose anger comes from everything that he loved being taken from him and the sadness of seeing the weak have everything taken from them as well. If this was just a movie I would give it a 10/10; the game-play is the only thing that's lacking.
+Force Edge 200 Well there hasn't really ever been a movie rated with officially 10/10 because there is no such thing as perfection :) I'd say the soundtrack was better then the game itself or at least not far away from it. short, cut into dlc, too much QT events, some parts of the gameplay where bad, holes in the story and the plot like for example is he a robot? why is there electrical cords inside his body? is he a machine? he can chill inside lava? A very Capcom'ish game the dlc part where they cut out chapters of the story and put into dlc was dumb but was a typical Capcom move at the time game was released because they had been doing shit moves like that for a while. Cinematic could have been better since the majority of the game is cinematic and Quick time Events. It's a good game.

Gameplay wasn't that great and was quite repetitive BUT the story and the emotions (sorrow, sadness, hopes, strenght of the bounds) made it one of the best games I ever played.
@@user-vr8ve6rt9c the QTEs were amazing, but even by that metric CyberConnect2 has further refined the artform through their Ultimate Ninja Storm series (i still maintain that their version of DeidaravGaara is the best adaptation of that fight, including the manga). The actual combat though? Sluggish nightmare. Asura desperately needed a dash button (again, something CC2 realized and fixed with the Naruto games), more complex combos, and 'finishers' that actually finished off hi opponents or at least didn't put him in a freaking refractory period after using them. A remake today would see all those awkward first try hiccups fully smoothed out with CC2's current skills and experience, while retaining all the artistic and narrative merrit that this unsung iamond of a game has.
i wish that more music was like this, this song comes close to bringing a tear to my eye because of the amount of emotion in it. Nothing else has ever done this to me, i just love this song.
This game being a masterpiece with a high end tier ost, if they would have made into a trilogy like the original God of War with same level of exploration and having a slow steady plot building leading to this climatic finale, would easily take a 10/10. The protagonist is extremely powerful, him and some others are easily planet level destroyers. Their universe could be similar to DBZ anime if the developers wanted.

This game makes me cry even now Because when we are young our parents shout , spank , punish and other things and we take this as evil. But when we are grown ups we see that was (some times) the only way to protect us from REAL evil. So touching
Hearing this at 3:44 in the morning hits different. Nothing happened but my eyes feel a bit watered-up. Goes to show just how freaking beautiful this soundtrack is lol
This is a truly touching song. I can feel Asura's pain in losing everything that he cherished by the treacherous hands of the 7 deities to the point where I am in tears. Now I truly want to play this game and experience Asura's quest. It looks to be one of the most unique games I have seen so far.

Fuck yes. If I was good enough I'd take the full thing and edit it to where the game part was a movie instead. While I hate saying it that is it's weakest part, the fact it's a game.
Zanji Suzunami To be honest though it is true. It's not a bad thing that it is a game but if it's going to be a game they need to treat it like one instead of it being they way it is. Can't decide whether it's supposed to be a visual novel or a game. I'd still throw my money at it though.
The first time I heard this I was overwhelmed with emotion then when those drums come in those emotions came roaring out all at once. I haven't stopped roaring in anguish, anger and confusion since
Asuras wrath was a beautiful game it looked amazing the colors and all but the story itself was truly amazing asuras pain and anger drove him to limits that no one could imagine existed the music in this game was amazing too I for one love this song I've down loaded it to my phone as I played asuras wrath I felt like I was experiencing the things he went through his berserker transformation and his screams reflected so much that I felt like him at times when I was angry I really hope there's a sequel because asuras wrath was the best game I've played in a long time I've played through the game numerous times because it was truly amazing I've gotten the dlc packs too this game was truly underrated

sorry bro but asura’s wrath is just one of those games that’s timeless and stands on its own, wouldn’t see the point of a remake cause it’s not like the visuals look bad by today’s standards. A remaster or some other kind of adaptation i can fully support tho
This game is a true work of art that I think pioneered the story based games just like heavy rain. However I think this surpasses heavy rain due to its depth tragic characters, and the issue it poses of "what would you do to please your god and protect the ones you love" Asura is the perfect example of this. He rejected his brethren when they asked for to steep a price, and when he was betrayed he sought to right the wrong committed by the powerful and protect those who were weak. This is a trait we can take with us into the real world, knowing that there is more to than world just us and we must aid our brothers and sisters in humanity who are less fortunate than us and help them become strong.
Instead of taking life out of human's life Asura saves them, like that one girl, he don't even know what language she is talking in, but all he know that they need to be protected, and one thing he said "Is this what gods do?"

@Makhi Makharadze yeah I always resonated with anger being a fuel for good. 🖤
I still dunno why Asura's Wrath hasn't either:
-Had an anime adaptation
-Had a manga adaptation
-Had a movie adaptation
-Had a any other adaptation of some sort
+H-Bomber Or a sequel, although any of these could happen sometime ( maybe not a movie )
+Vincent Bédard a sequel would be pointless tbh. It ended perfectly
+BallOfBlood I think its fine how it is.I dont think a cgi anime would make as much anime and if it wasnt in cgi it wouldnt be as good as it was
The DLC is a condensed version of what would've been the sequel. But Capcom messed up advertising the game and it sold terribly.
+julbot1 that assumption really has no base in reality. the dlc was liking being made before the game went out for sale. considering its quality
I hope that a game this beautiful gets a remaster or adaptation of some sort.

break an honest man, and you will unleash an unstoppable wrath
Asura just wanted his wife and daughter to be happy, he showed us that fathers really would do anything for their kids
may his soul rest, the greatest father who ever lived
+TheFeralBishop Well said, mate.
+Joseph “The Bard” Mayes lol superman would man handle this clown
+phillip stewart That depends on which Superman though, and Asura destroys planets left and right in his end game.
+TheFeralBishop
But you know why he wished not to be worshipped as a deity, right?
+TheFeralBishop you could say that as long as humanity still have anger in their heart he can never die.
When he goes berserk... Manly tears I cry, and like an all powerful deity I fight to destroy everything.
with that song...it was even more epic...it was fantastic
Emanuele Petrolini True, that was like the most awesome moment in that whole game!
MrTamTam5 I agree !! :D It was the saddest moment for me :s the most epic moments are when asura remembers what the seven deities did to him in his fight with gongen wyzen, and then goes mad, EPIC !!
Same here, saddest moment of the game for me, everytime i'm in pain i keep earing his scream...
Imagine if Berserker Asura was holding the girl in his arms the whole time while he rains hell on Olga and her fleet ;__;
The song of a man who in his literal unending rage sought destruction not for his own gain
But rather sought righteous wrath for all those the heavens had wronged
i have read many novels, played many games, and always loved stories. of all these years of reading & playing i have never seen a more epic story than that of asuras...
definitely.... hopefully its equal to asura.. ;P
+Bryan Davis The *ONLY* equal to Asura's Wrath is Okami. Okami will make you cry just as much as Asura's Wrath guarantee👍👍👍 (Maybe that's cuz they're both from Capcom)
Liam O'Brien did a good work for the entire game, the best voice actor for asura definely
If you still look for a story as epic as Asura's, i recommend you watch Gurren Lagann. This series definitely give the same vibes (at least imo)

Try playing God of war.
We need more epic games like this, with a hero to defy all odds and sacrifice himself for love and for what he believes in. Actually more than a game, Asura's Wrath is an experience.
The newest God of War is kinda like that.

I'm tearing up listening to this. As if the song weren't touching enough, you had to choose a pic of THAT scene in the game.
It's not from the game it's art work.
Still, is a portraition of something that actually happened in the game tho.
Mithra: "Why do you always act so recklessly?"
Asura: *heavy grunt*
*Asura's mantra slowly starts to dissipate*

Nah, turn it into the anime it always actually was. An action story to rival DBZ
@@IronianKnight It was fun during middle school but now that I think about it screaming for 5 whole episode wasn't much of a story XD. I don't regret anything though
@@whocares3577 That's what I feel about DBZ and its kin, too. As we mature, some types of anime hit differently, but that's alright. There's still a big audience for this kind of thing, and we can remember how much impact their like had on us back when we were younger.
The greatest game of the decade , the emotions , the animating style the soundtrack , all justifies it to be the greatest game of the decade
The most strong felling of Asura wasnt his wrath, but his love for his family.
I always Believed in you, and nothing could shake that faith.

She Definitely did tho because if you remember the ending of the DLC when it shows all of them reincarnated there's a ton of Asura statues around the city, hell they even have a statue of liberty but it's asura punching the air. His story was never forgotten
If Capcom didn’t mess up this masterpiece, then this game would have lived up the hype. I’m glad that everyone knows about this underrated game.
Yes, Capcom is always busy on making Resident Evil (I am not saying it's a bad game), but there are more games that could have expand, like Devil May Cry and even if they remake Asura's wrath it could have gone right...
I love that the god of wrath, a man that spends the majority of the game making the things Doomguy does look tame has such a soft and gentle song.
He's not a berserker ... He's not a God ... He a father trying to comfort his daughter who was taken from him by the ones he once call friends and family ... He does one want to be worshipped .. Nor will he offer any prayers .. Til his rage is quelled he is .. Asura .. Lord of destruction ... And hero .. To all who know of his ..
I'm already crying like there's not tomorrow
Hahaa. You got that right man. Ditto here
This game story is so filled with beauty and sorrow. If this was just a movie I would give it a 10/10; the game-play is the only thing that's lacking.
so true
Couldn't have put it better myself.
+Force Edge 200 Well there hasn't really ever been a movie rated with officially 10/10 because there is no such thing as perfection :)
I'd say the soundtrack was better then the game itself or at least not far away from it.
short, cut into dlc, too much QT events, some parts of the gameplay where bad, holes in the story and the plot like for example is he a robot? why is there electrical cords inside his body? is he a machine? he can chill inside lava?
A very Capcom'ish game the dlc part where they cut out chapters of the story and put into dlc was dumb but was a typical Capcom move at the time game was released because they had been doing shit moves like that for a while.
Cinematic could have been better since the majority of the game is cinematic and Quick time Events.
It's a good game.
I would take this game more as an anime. Maybe Capcom should be in that buisness and make an anime for this and Okami.
+Blackswordman i would only guess that the generals were given cybernetics augmentations in order to use the manifestations of their mantra's.
This song get me tears everytime becuse i can't forget the pain and the sadness of Asura when he lost the little girl :
Asura : AhAAaaAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAaAAAAAhhhhh...

spot on, I think.
The game play was amazing
It's literally an interactive anime
Someone needs to made a REMASTER/remake!!!!
The game was less about the gameplay and more about the story

Because when we are young our parents shout , spank , punish and other things and we take this as evil.

Zanji Suzunami To be honest though it is true. It's not a bad thing that it is a game but if it's going to be a game they need to treat it like one instead of it being they way it is. Can't decide whether it's supposed to be a visual novel or a game. I'd still throw my money at it though.

2020, i will still wait for a remaster, a sequell, a comic, an anime, anything that will tell us again
