The fact that Asura here looks exactly like vlitra's core makes me theorize that the reason for that is because of wrath. Vlitra (or Earth's will) is angry at the deities for stealing mantra for themselves Asura is angry at the deities because they're cold blooded murderers and his berserker form looks exactly like the core implying that Vlitra's wrath for the deities is on par with Asura here. It's a complete blind rage for both of them. This theory is reinforced by Yasha's dialogue when we reach the core. He says: "It looks exactly like you" Asura's response is "But lets see if it's more powerful." Or something along those lines.
There's nothing more frustrating than knowing that you have the power to do incredible things, by all rights should be yours, especially after you've earned it, but your body can't compensate or climate to match your will.
He didn’t even attack when the fleets were getting destroyed that was just from his transformation like you see this and think “oh yeah we can take him on not like a third of my fleet was destroyed by him transforming.” Just love the stupidity of villains with a god complex

I never noticed till now but if you stretch it and look closely you can see Asura mouth out "Mithra" while yelling at the girl before the Bomb dropped. Shit hit me in the soul when i noticed
07:31 People keep saying that this is the strongest version of Asura, but in reality, this is the weakest he's ever been. Those painful screams of desperation, leading him to be ready to destroy everything around him, no matter what. He has lost his control and can no longer act with reason, as his only reason to keep going was taken from him. Strong are those who use their strength for a pure and greater cause. Here we only see pure rage and destruction without cause, having left a beastly shell of his former self.
@JosephJorgenson-cr6nt Adding onto this. That power is vented because he can't handle it. He's the worst kind of berserker. So little control for so much power. All he has are instincts to hurt the things that hurt him back, and no restraint to protect himself.
When your fury transcends all possible measure, you shed your mortal shell and become the very essence of punch-force itself, and both physics and spacetime collapse before your desire to see someone punched.
How dare he?? How dare his heart and soul fester with absolute malice and unknown hatred because you took his only love away, how dare he act so godlike and rip apart your pathetic armada of ships in the name of his family who you took from him without hesitation, how dare you speak out against his wails of raw agony and pain... I know it's just a game but hearing his rage hurts..
Not to mention the innumerable injustices they've brought to the world in twelve thousand years, that's definitely another blow against Asura who truly just wanted to protect others.
Oh man when his voice gave out at 2:43, I felt that as a father. And the music, just captured the feeling of hopelessness you feel at falling to unbridled fury.
Studio:”alright give us a good rage scream like you’ve done before just make it simple.” Liam Obrian:”I take offense to that now watch me as I almost destroy my voice.”
And for Yasha to chastise Asura for being angry and telling him to forget about everything and die, even though his fellow deities killed his fucking sister, kidnapped his niece and framed his brother-in-law and he went along with it like a good soldier, is incredibly hypocritical and pathetic. Cannot fault Asura for feeling the way he is.

The wailing screams of a breaking heart laid over the roars of an angry, vengeful beast. I exaggerate nothing when I tell you I cry for Asura when I see this scene.
Yeah, Liam killed it, genuinely think this is his best role across anything he's ever done.
Behold, the voice acting that sent a man to the freakin' hospital.
When the Exterminatus backfired spectacularly
Local necron literally too angry to die
@@ruphite9521 Not even a Necron, a fucking C'tan.
@@dragoonunleashed9962 probably even worse considering he killed chakravartin the literal uber ctan at this point he might be able to defeat khrone himself in a rage match.
Primarch Vulkan of the Salamanders mutating into a warp drake through the powers of Waaaagh after seeing innocent civilians murdered by the inquisition:
@@amandeepgill5206now I'm also picturing him actually doing damage to Khorne who would most likely try to corrupt only to realize that it's not gonna work
The fact that Asura here looks exactly like vlitra's core makes me theorize that the reason for that is because of wrath.
Vlitra (or Earth's will) is angry at the deities for stealing mantra for themselves
Asura is angry at the deities because they're cold blooded murderers and his berserker form looks exactly like the core implying that Vlitra's wrath for the deities is on par with Asura here. It's a complete blind rage for both of them.
This theory is reinforced by Yasha's dialogue when we reach the core.
He says: "It looks exactly like you"
Asura's response is "But lets see if it's more powerful." Or something along those lines.
Good theory
If I remember correctly, the dialogue goes like this:
Yasha: "It looks like you when you're angry."
Asura: "But is it as strong?"
7:14 beautiful piano play
There's nothing more frustrating than knowing that you have the power to do incredible things, by all rights should be yours, especially after you've earned it, but your body can't compensate or climate to match your will.
Asura himself said it at one point. “All this power and I still wasn’t able to save that little girl.”
"Asura must be destroyed."
My sister in Christ, he is destroying your entire fleet by himself.
He didn’t even attack when the fleets were getting destroyed that was just from his transformation like you see this and think “oh yeah we can take him on not like a third of my fleet was destroyed by him transforming.” Just love the stupidity of villains with a god complex
This part of the game hit me in the feels. I felt his grief and his sadness when that girl and the kid with her were killed right in front of Asura. My hands did all the wrath and vengeance while
I never noticed till now but if you stretch it and look closely you can see Asura mouth out "Mithra" while yelling at the girl before the Bomb dropped. Shit hit me in the soul when i noticed
That shit simply destroys one’s soul
07:31 People keep saying that this is the strongest version of Asura, but in reality, this is the weakest he's ever been.
Those painful screams of desperation, leading him to be ready to destroy everything around him, no matter what.
He has lost his control and can no longer act with reason, as his only reason to keep going was taken from him.
Strong are those who use their strength for a pure and greater cause. Here we only see pure rage and destruction without cause, having left a beastly shell of his former self.
Poetic af😭
Plus a build up of anger gets stronger his berserk from is constantly venting so he gets weaker
@JosephJorgenson-cr6nt Adding onto this. That power is vented because he can't handle it. He's the worst kind of berserker. So little control for so much power. All he has are instincts to hurt the things that hurt him back, and no restraint to protect himself.
Apparently the voice actor almost died screaming his head off. Fucking mad..
I love this scene it is so powerful.
i can feel the weight of his pain and suffering from his berserk cry.
I FEEL YOU!
Tbm
She isn’t reading the room is she 😆
I feel his pain
Not to mention the innumerable injustices they've brought to the world in twelve thousand years, that's definitely another blow against Asura who truly just wanted to protect others.
Hulk - Titan
Kratos - Yormunganda
Asura - New Vlitra Core
Broly - lengendary ssj
Guts - beast of darkness
They just seem to keep underestimating how angry Asura really is
because every time they beat him and time passes, they become much stronger but so does asura
All it takes is one bad day... for him, seems like an eternity
That last scream, goddamn, he was in so much pain.
Yeah literally, Liam O'Brien had to go to the hospital afterwards.
@@chisompeterson6132 really? Damn. Talk about commitment.
Oh man when his voice gave out at 2:43, I felt that as a father. And the music, just captured the feeling of hopelessness you feel at falling to unbridled fury.
The VA tore something and was bleeding in his throat
This game deserves a remake
Every time asura was screaming if you pay attention closely at his screams you can actually feel the pain anger and sadness he's throwing
What an amazing performance from Asura’s VA
Studio:”alright give us a good rage scream like you’ve done before just make it simple.”
Liam Obrian:”I take offense to that now watch me as I almost destroy my voice.”
The fact that that girl wasn’t her daughter, I wonder how furious asura would be losing his last child in his family.
Still one of my best gaming moments
The first time i saw this...man i was so hyped
fr the voice acting is so fucking good
And for Yasha to chastise Asura for being angry and telling him to forget about everything and die, even though his fellow deities killed his fucking sister, kidnapped his niece and framed his brother-in-law and he went along with it like a good soldier, is incredibly hypocritical and pathetic.
Cannot fault Asura for feeling the way he is.
That realization if his own hypocrisy is what got Yasha to switch sides.
For days he wept. And for days they suffered
The moment where he transform followed up by the music slaps so fucking hard.
Como me alegra saber que aun en el 2021 todavía hay personas que juegan ASURA WRATH
Very underrated game, and its so amazing
A anime and a new game on this game will be sick for ps5 I still have this game and it’s a really good one ☝️
I'm honestly surprised that an Asura's Wrath anime never happened. It certainly seems like something that would exist yet it doesn't.
@@robjef622 yeah the small story is so bad ass and different I love it
There was supposed to be a sequel but it never came.
Cap com went out of business I heard
The dlc IS the sequel. It was supposed to be it's own game but since the game didn't sell well we got a dlc instead
@@zaer-ezart that makes me sad
@@zaer-ezart tbh i cannot blame the people. At that point capcom was in the height of their arrogance and basically cut parts of the game (like the first Yasha partt and Asura armless vs the giant Gohma army) to sell as DLC.
Everyone working on the game clearly put their heart and soul in it but the higher ups really ruined it.
I have never gotten so many goosebumps in my entire life
A hidden gem in gaming right here
Liam O'Brien you absolute legend you. The fact Asura can't even let out the scream at first is so powerful
Yes piss off the god of wrath. Makes perfect sense. He definitely won't go into a rage state
Edit: Some of you may think "they didn't know those girls were there, so they didn't know they were gonna piss him off" but know now that if you have ever been punched in the face you'll know how pissed you can get, it gets even worse when near death. Adrenaline starts kicking and you think to yourself "your not gonna die right then and there" so he'd get pissed if they get him near death.
The one who invited him to spa could have had the perfect oppurtunity to kill Asura there
@@leeviheiskanen1271 Sneak attacks would be very boring to Augus he loves combat and prefers a much more hands on approach
@@markmartinez6317 I know, just saying

Voice actor English did great job and we will never forget him
Legitimately one of the most saddest moments in all of gaming history.
The voice actor for Asura is perfect. In his scream you can hear his both feelings. His Anger and Sadness.
When you tell your dad you forgot to take out the meat to thaw
Asura makes Hercules, hulk, Thanos, Superman, Thor, broly , kratos ,venom look like they haven't reach that level of wrath.. that love manifested in infinite quantic energy to obliviorated the enemy's
Probably time for my yearly-ish visit to the series once again
