I don't know if Platinum Games made Replicant, but they make great action games with fun combat, like Automata and MGR
@@haidarief imo the best way to play it is replicant first (A-D), then automata (A-E), which is an amazing freshness for gameplay, then return to replicant for route E, where you’re already invested in the story. There’s also ending Y of automata which could be done before or after E of replicant. If you love the story and writing of automata, I say go for it, the gameplay isn’t as crisp but the story is just as phenomenal imo.
Devola and Popola's souls drift into the FFXIV universe where they have a chance at happiness.

Man I've grown nonesensically attached to this song since I first heard it years ago. I love hearing them sing together with the village instrumental instead of the fancy tavern one
I remember watching a let's play over 10 years ago of this game, and wanting to play but no PS3 at the time. Thankfully the remaster made it a really good game as well as having a good story.

Ignorant is not bliss thinking about how there are countless music games anime media entertainment we dont know about since we're limited based on what we can find and get recommended to us. I'm probably missing out on a lot of music and all other media not using spotify but I dont see myself using it for now.

It feels like a miracle and sad at the same time knowing how something as beautiful as nier exists and how there are potentially many other things in life everyone is missing out on because we simply don't know about it. I guess That's how life is so I think all we can do is to keep searching and have the benefit of recommendations show us new things.

I remember playing replicant after automata and as soon as i saw Devola playing the guitar sitting on the fountain i knew the game was going to completely annihilate my feelings
I just finished replicant. I am glad I played it first just so that i could be so drawn in by Devola's music as my first introduction to her. I stopped almost every time to hear her sing for awhile

I can never get tired of hearing the twins sing, Nier's OST is a blessing, just wish UA-cam would stop taking it down.

Man, finding all those lizard and mouse tales was worth it. Just sat there and listened to them singing together in the tavern for two hours and a half. So comforting.
The true power of this song is that I first heard it 2 years ago but it still has the same nostalgic feel as hearing something like zelda's lullaby. It's just comfy as hell and it feels like home.

I know many didn't play nier gestalt/replicant before automata, but when you hear this song for the first time on automata, it's sad, and you don't know why, and when you do it on gestalt/replicant it's welcoming, hopeful, until you finish the I play and you know, actually it always was....

@@szaka9395 There are 2 versions of the first Nier, Gestalt (for Xbox 360) and replicant (for PS3), the difference between the two lies in the main character, while in replicant the character is the older brother, in gestalt it is the father
Habe bis jetz kein NieR Game gespielt und trotzdem liebe ich die Songs von replicant/automata. Habe mich über verschiedene UA-camr mit der Story und allgemein mit dem 'Sinn' hinter der ganzen Story beschäftigt und kann sagen das auch wenn ich selber keine Games mehr Spiele das einer meiner Lieblings Games ist. Als jemand der diese Games nie selbst gespielt hat fällt es mir dennoch schwer meine Emotionen zurück zuhalten einfach weil das Game gefühlt mit jeder Konversation mehr ausdrückt als so mache Games overall.
In retrospective, my favorite song from Drakengard/Nier is Song Of The Ancients. Second and third are Black Song White Scales and A Beautiful Song. Growing Wings and Shadowlord are also on my favorite. But if I had to pick my absolute favorite, it should be Song of The Ancients, because tells a story that should not be forgotten but we cannot recognize this ancient or future language anymore.
Yes. Because there is no real translate, it can be literally anything. This is why I love artists that write songs to films/anime/games "without words". Because you hear and imagine, let in loose and mean whatever your heart desire or whatever autor want you to hear without words, paint just another story before you. For you. And you do it with them, because "words" of those songs will mean something else for everyone. This is... Scary. And yet so beautiful.
@@joannaostrowska548That’s always been the root of Yoko Taro’s creative genius. He leaves a lot of details unexplained for the fans to piece together and make theories about. Plus Emi Evans for writing the beautiful mysterious language of Chaos. Her lyrics in songs are part of the main reason that these games have a sort of magic that is hard to replicate.
It takes the universe to another level too. These poor souls were wandering earth for 8 thousand years after humanitys end, they might have just forgotten meaning of the words used by humans. I dont know why this song feels sad for most of the people. It brings me peace and hope.

Finding more about Replicant through bits of information and items from that game (not having played it) while playing Automata makes me feel like I'm uncovering the past of an ancestor and it's a truly fascinating feeling... And I feel like this song perfectly encompasses that feeling.

Even if I don't understand it, I feel and know what they are trying to say, but I can't put it into words.
I've finished ending A of nier:replicant a few days ago. I want to get all the endings, but knowing I have to go through this even once more makes me so sad, that I don't think I can do this. It's the first time this has happened to me and because of that I don't know what to do. I am just heartbroken because of this game. I fell in love with these characters in automata and now it's just hard to stop thinking about them after finishing replicant.
Devola and Popola.. You two have already reached your atonement when I met you two all over again..
Did they survive automata? My bet is no. But deep inside i want them to be OK.
@@szaka9395 Maybe yes, maybe no. We didn't see their body, but the tower crumble around them during one of the ending. So it's free to interpretation, but yeah i kind of wish for them to be ok, they are the characters who probably suffered the most.
If Drakengard had just an elements of tragedy in the story concept, NieR - is fullified by the tragedy from the start of the series. It's one of the most sensetive game-series i've ever played, honestly. It's literally a pure sadness to complete Nier:Replicant / Nier:Gestalt and after many years start playing Nier:Automata where all the characters you've loved, all the stories they created were just descended to nothing, but ashes. Kinda all of their chains that were connecting their feelings, or better to say a chains we created together while playing NieR were just a nothing in compare with time, kinda just a grain of sand in the sand dunes. When everything become just another legend of the kind boy who was wishing to save his little sister. The tragedy of the World Destroyer, who was just a human who wished for the happiness, by his own will, his choice, his promise, by his own tragic existance, saddly had no other way except to destroy last chance of humanity to survive. A story that longs for the 9 thousand years. A story which was started by the accident. An Unknown story for the it's own inhabitats, which will be always in the hearts of the ones who played in this tragical adventure. This story is actually lay on the ruines. Ruines of the first civilization, and then Ruines of the Old world. The story without names.
But the most important - it's a story about the feelings. About the Wonders and the Beauty. Of the world, that we are no longer belongs to.

Devola and Popola in the first Nier were tasked with overseeing Project Gestalt and, one day, to initiate reuniting Gestalts and Replicants to return Humanity. But, because Nier destroyed the Shadowlord, the centerpiece of the project, the whole Project Gestalt failed and Humanity became extinct. D and P were blamed, so every remaining Devola and Popola -Unit was reprogrammed to feel constant guilt, treated as an outcast and given only gruelling tasks.

When I first played NieR (Gestalt), back in 2010, when I heard this song for the first time at the village fountain, I put down my controller and just.. listened. I left it there for hours on end sometimes letting the song play in the background.

The only actual source for this songs meaning is in game where Devola (left pictured character) speaks about this song referring to the white book that saves the world from the evil black book in a heroic tail. Beyond that, many versions of this song appear throughout the Nier games and is quite impactful when it is used which is why we all love it so much
