Simple Tie-Ups on the Countermarch Drawloom

I managed to find myself a second horizontal countermarch, Glimakra of course. I finally had time to put a warp on it last month. I got the warp all threaded, slayed, and wound. I pulled the locking pins out of the jacks and everything dropped. All of my shafts were sitting on the warp. I re-locked my jacks and rechecked all my connections, pulled the pins and again all the shafts were setting on the warp. I spent A LOT of time going over and over the loom trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I compared the new tie-up with the loom I already had that works great. 🤬 I was to the point where I was taking pictures to email to you to see if you could see where I was going wrong. During all of this I had pulled the bench way back from the loom and after taking my photos I sat down to think things through one more time. As I was sitting and grumbling I suddenly noticed that my "Long Lamms" were only about an inch longer than my short lamms. 😲Do you have any idea why someone would cut their long lamms down to almost the same length as their short lamms????? I have gotten new Long Lamms and they loom works beautifully. Also thanks for another great video.🤓
How frustrating! There are a few reasons why the lamms might have been a bit shorter than we would ideally like, especially since the Glimakra looms used to be manufactured that way - the longer lower lamms are of relatively recent design. Or it is possible that the lamms were borrowed from a different loom in the dim and distant past. It is not an uncommon problem but I am so happy to hear you were able to get it sorted. Congratulations on your awesome trouble-shooting!

this video is with vertical countermarch. Is it posible with a horisontal countermarch as well? I'm thinking of the switching of the tieup. Will it make trouble since the centercords will posible be in conflict with the shafts ?
