So happy to learn what a "temple" means in weaving! I have wondered ever since I heard Steeleye Span sing "The Weaver and the Factory Maid"!

I LOVE this song! Met Maddy Prior backstage at Berkeley Performance Center decades ago.

Thank you so much for your comment - I am glad the vid makes sense. As for the fabric, well, I would give 95% of the credit to my awesome loom ;-)

Thank you very much! My channel is pretty much devoted to double-harness weaving, but if you have a particular interest I do take requests 😉

Thank you so much for your comment - and for subscribing to my channel! I've had to take a short break, but I hope to be back at the drawloom in the next couple of weeks. Please stay tuned ;-)

Another informative video! I agree with you in that a temple is a very desired tool to have, and I love the Glimakra wooden temples above all others.
    Happy New Year, Amy!

Hello Amy - new gang member here, I've just subscribed and I look forward to watching all of your other videos! 😁
This video is SO useful and I have just ordered a temple because of it, thank you so much for sharing your vast wealth of knowledge 🙏🏽

Welcome! I am so happy about the idea of a drawloom weaving gang - maybe we should have T-shirts 🤣 You will love your temple, I am sure. If you've never used one before there is a bit of a learning curve but your weaving will thank you in the end. I hope you enjoy the channel. Let me know if you have any questions - my goal is to demystify drawlooms and show how possible it is to create complex figurative textiles of all kinds.

Your video's have persuaded me to buy a second hand Glimakra counterbalance loom, and I love it! Your video's have also helped me a lot during troubleshooting and this one on temples is the first one on the subject that has answered all the questions that come to mind at once.

I'm delighted that you are enjoying your counterbalance loom! They are great to weave on, I agree. Thank you for the feedback on the temple video: I tried to think of all the questions I had when I started using temples myself and went from there.

Thank you so much, Janet! The structure is Beiderwand, which is very cool and fun to design for. My next video will be all about it - should be up within the week. ~Amy

Carol, the wooden temples are from Glimakra in Sweden.

Please respond. Is it possible to reduce Temple Glimakra 40-66 inches) to the required 28 -20 inches.? Your video inspired me! )

I am so happy you are inspired! Temples come in a wide range of sizes, although I suppose you could cut one down in an emergency. I think I have one in every size and use them all!

I am grateful. I perceive it as a creative help. Fifty thousand kilometers away, there are really only 40"-66". And my loom is 28." Either now or in another life! Your answer is very important to me! Thank you. Happy weaving! Be healthy!@@DuellingRabbits

@@natashapetrova7936 Another solution is clips and weights: these are pretty easy to rig with everyday items. Here is a pic of the idea: www.yarnbarn-ks.com/Temple-Clip/productinfo/WA-TM-TEMC/
