The notebook was Ryan Goslings Titanic. After seeing him do roles like 'A place beyond the pines' and witnessing his crazy acting range as well as now seeing him in 'First Man' there's no question Ryan Gosling has reached Dicaprios level.
I agree with your No. 1. I've watched "Blue Valentine" for tons of times. It is his best performance ever. I felt so sad for Dean. He was a good guy and it was so real, I mean the marriage and the whole thing. I thought his performance in "the ides of March" deserved better place. He outperformed Gorge in there. I was so surprised after watching this because I suddenly found that I had watched almost all his films. Ryan Gosling is a great actor. And he is now famous in China.
He's such an amazing actor and he's not just a good-looking man. He can act (obviously), he can sing and dance too. I think he needs to be recognized more not because of his looks but because of his talents.
I’ve Seen An Interview With Ryan Gosling Where He Said “I Take Every Single Role Seriously, Even If The Project isn’t Taken That Serious In The Industry” I Think That’s Why He’s Where He Is, He’s Commited.
I strongly urge anyone who has not seen it yet to watch The Nice Guys his chemistry with all in the film especially Angourie Rice is so great and heartwarming there is no character he cannot play!
Oh yes! I forgot that, it definitely should be on this list!!! I guess because Anthony Hopkins is so big in most roles he takes on that has more impacting results in memories than his co stars but I truly loved his performance in that film. Nice guys is probably my favorite because he is so different in character that it was most enjoyable to watch. Also the movie where he played opposite of Sandra Bullock and Michael Pitt! Definitely chilling.
First movie I have ever seen him in was The Believer and I have made it a point to watch all of his movies since. That guy has range and an intensity you don’t see often. Often overlooked for his good looks.
Its tough to choose a #1 with someone like Ryan, frankly. The guy's done it all, from intense dramas to whacky comedies to musicals to thrillers. But yeah, I generally agree with the list. It would be tough for me to order them, but those are all excellent performances.

La La Land is NOT a comedy. It's a heart felt thought provoking film that makes you think about your life in a way you've never had before. Please don't call it a Rom-Com. Please.
You what? It's a Musical Rom-com. I love that movie but it's not that deep. It might affect you if you're trying to be a musician or actress. Its no Moonlight, Eight Grade or Manchester by the sea
It’s totally reminiscent of the screwball comedy movie from the 30s and 40s. While I totally agree it’s not a rom com, it definitely inhabits those slapstick tropes like “unlikely pair keep running into each other” from the screwball comedy
@@colesmith4418 that's what makes it special tho. while it has elements of the "perfect magical cheesy romance" and slapstick tropes it's also realistic and imperfect

Time for Ryan to get the Best Actor Oscar for La La Land. A perfect movie in charm and conception, Ryan learned how to play the piano astonishingly well. And his acting is flawless; he and Emma have real chemistry; that's apparent by now. Ryan Gosling's main problem is that he makes everything he does (especially in this film) look easy; that's called talent--and experience. His other problem is his magnetic good looks; he may suffer the fate (I hope not) of Paul Newman, who as a young man was so good-looking everyone assumed his fine performances were mirages. He had to wait until his 60's to get the Oscar. Ryan deserves it now; it's obvious; it's his time. And he gives a more nuanced, complex performance than Denzel Washington in Fences; that film belongs to Viola Davis, who is magnificent. (And Denzel already has two Oscars.) Finally, Ryan sings and he dances--very well. But mainly, he makes his fine acting look easy. It's his turn, Academy voters (and civilians).
Yes, Blanche I was so sad he did not get his Oscar for La la land! I did think he well deserved it more than the other guy, and trust me it isn't any racism here, I just thought that he worked so hard and learned so many new things for that one and single film and they have acted so well together and why is that that Emma gets it and he does not?
lars and the girls, fracture, drive, blade runner, the notebook, nice guys, place beyond the pines, blue valentne, first man, half nelson . ive watched these and he is tremendous in each of them
Drive, all the fucking way, watched it so many times. Not many actors can say so much by saying nothing... The silences speak volumes in this amazing movie and dont get me started on the music in this flick so sublime.
I don't think he should have won one yet, but he should've been nominated way more times. He was easily the best thing about The Big Short, just to name one
I think gosling is my favorite actor.. Only God Forgives is such a bad ass movie, I loved Stay, Drive is one of my all time favorite movie, Blue Valentine is amazing, The Nice Guys is absolutely hilarious, and Lars and the Real Girl is so weird its amazing!
I've only just started delving into Ryan's extensive back catalogue. La La Land, The Fall Guy, Barbie, Crazy, Stupid, Love, First Man, The Place Beyond the Pines, The Big Short, All Good Things, The Believer, Drive, The Slaughter Rule...I may resurface in a few years time...
I liked him the best in The Notebook but he came to my attention in Remember the Titans. I liked him in that too. They never talk about his performance in that movie
For me: 10 - The Big Short 9- The nice guys 8- Lars and the real girl 7- The notebook 6- Crazy stupid love 5- Only god forgives 4- Half neeson 3- The place beyond the pines 2- Blue valentine 1- Drive
Because I am a romantic I must pick The Notebook as my fav, followed by Crazy Stupid Love as a close second. Howeved, I must say there is not a single film (& I've seen every one) that I didn't love. He is an extraordinarily talented actor & as far as I can see has never given even a mediocre performance. Each one is brilliant & he is a delight to watch.❤❤❤
Everybody here is talking about gosling's acting , which in fact he is a good actor , but we forget how every film of his have a dope cinematography and best color palettes. Which makes his acting more touchy .
Yeah, a lot of films are missing froom this list I also mentioned a few I forgot about Fracture but, man, you mentioned it. It was good, not my fav. though, but it is okay; not everything can our favs.
I think The United States of Leland, Murder by Numbers and The Believer should be in this list. It's his early roles but already incredible and very different and comlicated. After these films I've already known he will be a huge star and one of the most talented actor of his generation.
While watching this, I was thinking that "Blue Valentine" should be in no. 1 spot & happy to see it at no. 1. This movie was so realistic to practical world.
It's difficult to pick just some of his movies and roles because he is such a great actor and is one of my favourites. But anyway here is my Top Five: The Believer La La Land Blue Valentine The Nice Guys Fracture
10- The Big Short 0:33 9- The Place Beyond the Pines 1:52 8- The Note Book 3:10 7- Crazy, Stupid, Love 4:15 6- The Nice Guys 5:26 5- La La Land 6:48 4- Lars And the Real Girl 8:07 3- Half Nelson 9:27 2- Drive 10:49 1- Blue Valentine 12:34 Honorable Mentions: Only God Forgives: 12:09 The Believer 12:13 The Ides of March 12:23 Not Mentioned [should have been]: Fracture, with Anthony Hopkins.
My cousin look alike like Ryan Gosling. When the first time I saw Ryan Gosling,I said to myself "Wait, when he did start acting" (he stands for my cousin) Man, unbeliavable!
+aoitennyo I need also quick to say that that was his #1 performance. Right now, I'm not exactly sure, although I guess in terms of his more serious performances, this one really took me off-guard. He actually pulls in a dry one-liner in that movie in the beginning, and just goes, "Please don't get up..." Neither the line itself or the way he delivered it isn't the biggest reason, but it does represent a key reason. It basically goes to show that even though he is doing that's Drive/Only God Forgives/Place Beyond the Pines-style performance, it isn't necessarily just that kind of character. He's more playing an android who has a straighter face, but can be just a normal guy, too, which kinda alien ties into this movie's themes, comeback to think about it...As for the true #1 most surprising performance, I'd give that to The Nice Guys. I had no idea a guy worshipped as a goshdarn Hollywood heartthrob for the ladies was actually this good ant playing such a loser of a PI.
The FirstBourne yeah he doesn’t always give the most diverse performances, but when he does play a kind of a-typical character, it’s always solid, it feels genuine and real. Also, even though his quieter roles ARE similar, K does NOT “feel” like Driver does not feel like Handsome Luke does not feel like Julian. I have yet to be disappointed by this guy, lol (and I’m not just saying that because I’m a fan-there are plenty of actors I admire but I see them in certain roles and I’m like “....dude, you’re great but this is really kind of cringey”) and Gosling as Officer K is probably one of the most absorbing and riveting performances I’ve seen. I REALLY connected with that character in a way that is extremely rare (I felt like I WAS K when watching the movie-and I’m a woman) and it’s all in his acting.
+aoitennyo Yeah, I truly agree. Actually, for his quieter roles, I think I really only refer more to the fact that that sounds like how've other people are going to define it. Another things Ryan Gosling gets associated with more than anything is Emma Stone. Great chemistry in 3 movies now, but I actually was beginning to think Ana de Armas might top it. That is the strangest thing I feel I have said ever, because most of his love interests in his "quieter" roles other than Emma Stone barely do that much with him. I don't know if it wasn't because she was a watch more unique character or because it was more impressive as a breakout role, but she really blew me away. If they actually cast Emma Stone as the hologram, this might actually ruin what was so good. I have no idea what other actress would try that's part because that was so unique and sooo good. She also clearly worked her butt off for this role, since for that large pink hologram scene, they actually painted her entire body pink.
Ryan Gosling is one of the most attractive man of all time.

I think Leo is really overrated. There are actors that should have won the award way before Leo.Like Edward Norton,Jim Carrey and Brad Pitt.
Kellie Malone I'm Gosling's biggest fan.
But it's simple, there was just a better acting performance that year.
What happened to Fracture , one of my favorites.
I don't think he should have won one yet, but he should've been nominated way more times. He was easily the best thing about The Big Short, just to name one
I've been a ryan fan since his breaker high days :) he has always taken each rule and made it his own !!!! he is amazinglike that!!
He’s my fav actor from Hollywood ...love himmm....his fav performance in my opinion was in the place beyond the pines
The Believer should have made the list. That was easily one his best performance.
such an incredible movie.
Agreed
No drive is the best role he’s had that movie was amazing
you'd love the place beyond the pines then, bc drive was one of my favorites before I found that one
@@prodbynxne2297 I still like Drive more than PBTP because of the soundtrack.
Drive, is for sure my favorite Ryan Gosling performance.
his performance in The Nice Guys was one of the best of his career
4-1/22 can’t believe how handsome he was but I didn’t know until now
I liked him the best in The Notebook but he came to my attention in Remember the Titans. I liked him in that too. They never talk about his performance in that movie
For me:
10 - The Big Short
9- The nice guys
8- Lars and the real girl
7- The notebook
6- Crazy stupid love
5- Only god forgives
4- Half neeson
3- The place beyond the pines
2- Blue valentine
1- Drive
His performance is Structure is the best and forgotten he is best actor. Deserve an Oscar
*ALL R EXCELLENT. CANT TAKE OUT ONE OR TWO. HE IS JUST AWESOME*
For all of those who haven't yet seen Blue Valentine yet, watch it! Its an amazing film.
He did a stellar job in The Believer!
I 100 percent agree with you as a jew
Anything Ryan is in I will watch! I enjoyed him in Stay also. It was a strange movie, but I loved it.
Place beyond the Pines at 9? are you kidding me? deserves to be at number 3 with 2 and 1 staying the same
Joshua Day I mean he didn’t have much screen time so.
He was gone the half movie. I mean wtf
He did a killer job in The Nice Guys. Loved Holland March!
The Place Beyond the Pines is by far the best movie on this list but as a performance Blue Valentine is Ryans best performance
Drive should have been number 1.
The Russian Phoenix
ikr
drive should be number 1
YES
Fuck yeah
Nope blue is better
I watch that movie i relise he don't have a name
yes
Everybody here is talking about gosling's acting , which in fact he is a good actor , but we forget how every film of his have a dope cinematography and best color palettes. Which makes his acting more touchy .
What about the movie he did with Anthony Hopkins??? Where he played a lawyer? That was one of my favourite movies with him in it
spike91919100 Yes fracture was great !
spike91919100 hell yeah yes!
Fracture is on my Top Five!
It was called Fracture, he gave such a brilliant performance I bought the DVD and watch it at least twice a year.....
I know, right? How come it's not even an honorable mention?
Yeah, a lot of films are missing froom this list I also mentioned a few I forgot about Fracture but, man, you mentioned it. It was good, not my fav. though, but it is okay; not everything can our favs.
His performance in Ides Of March is fantastic and still makes sense not being on top 10. Brilliant actor.
Yes! The number one spot was so on point!
Half Nelson, The Notebook, Drive, Blue Valentine. All ridiculously amazing.
I think The United States of Leland, Murder by Numbers and The Believer should be in this list. It's his early roles but already incredible and very different and comlicated. After these films I've already known he will be a huge star and one of the most talented actor of his generation.
Everybody usually focus on his looks and forget how great versatile actor he is🤦♂️
While watching this, I was thinking that "Blue Valentine" should be in no. 1 spot & happy to see it at no. 1. This movie was so realistic to practical world.
Blue valentine is easily by far his best acting performance.
Honestly, Lars and the real girl is one of my favourite movies of all time
That's such a great movie!
It's difficult to pick just some of his movies and roles because he is such a great actor and is one of my favourites. But anyway here is my Top Five:
The Believer
La La Land
Blue Valentine
The Nice Guys
Fracture
Mayra Contreras and where's crazy stupid love?
Half Nelson will always be my favorite Ryan Gosling film.
IKR I never even liked him as an actor before seeing that movie. His role was definitely oscar worthy.

I loved him in Remember the Titans too. That's when I first noticed him
My cousin look alike like Ryan Gosling. When the first time I saw Ryan Gosling,I said to myself "Wait, when he did start acting" (he stands for my cousin)
Man, unbeliavable!
"CRAZY STUPID LOVE" ONE OF THE BEST
Too bad this list was made before Blade Runner 2049 because that's definitely one of my favorite performances of his ever.
Yes, indeed, it is an amazing role of his. I was mesmerized for days after when I saw that film.
1.) Half Nelson
2.) Blue Valentine
3.) BR2049
4.) The Place Beyond the Pines
5.) Drive
"First man" definitely must be in top3
Blue Valentine is the best!! Always!
I LOVE “Drive”!!!!!
The Notebook is the best in my opinion ❤️
Lala land was definitely one of his top movies
Laila Nassim nah. The driver to me will always be no. 1.
He is such a good Actor👌🏻❤️
Every time I see the place beyond the pines, i cry
I loved Blue Valentine so, so , so much
I'm glad seeing Blue Valentine at first place! Great role, great actor
My 2 favorite Ryan Gosling characters are K in Blade Runner 2049 and Sergeant Jerry Wooters in Gangster Squad
Ryan Gosling is damn ATTRACTIVE and super talented 😍
"Drive" Is the "one of a kind movie."best performance by Ryan gosling.
It's so badass
Yes it is.
