    New here, Marion. I’ve never thought to use my acrylic blocks to put my inks on…I’ll have to give that a try as the results you achieved were pretty awesome! I also like your suggestion to use Cling wrap to smooch ink on, then transfer to paper! Kind of like using a gel plate without all the extra time to get it set up. I’m going to try that method in a Christmas journal I’m starting to work on. Thank you for sharing your ideas & thought process. Watching from Canada, Gillian

    so happy to see you and a new video. I finally caught up on all the videos I hadn't seen. You are correct, I have not seen a Neenah in a very white either, but it's ok because most often it's covered with so many inks and things on the front that you can't tell. I did want to say that the most common one used is the COVER 110 pound and I believe the gsm is 297. Jennifer McGuire has a fantastic video she did about a year ago that explains the difference and shows the difference in the gsm not just the weight of the cardstock. It was extremely informative. I can try to find it and send it to you. I highly suggest every card maker watch this no matter how long you've been making cards. I changed to the cover 110# after I saw the video and it's made a huge difference in the cards never falling down when you give them to someone and they want to set it up. She shows 2 papers that are both 110# but the difference is really surprising!

    • @marionemberson
      @marionemberson  2 роки тому

      Thanks Denise, ohh that sounds interesting, the WOW card I usually use is 250 gsm and I have no problem with that standing up, sorry as I’m not sure what that is in lbs… how comes we speak the same language and then we don’t 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰

    • @dizzinese
      @dizzinese 2 роки тому

      @@marionemberson I’ll look tonight and see if I can find it. There’s a difference in cover cardstock v.s. Index also. She does a very good job at not just talking about it, but visually showing you. I bought the wow cardstock when I bought all the powders and my first thought was how much thinner it is than the Neenah cover-110# . As well as all the cardstock I had ever used! The cover is so thick it’s like 2 sheets of regular cardstock . Now I believe most use Neenah 80# for die cutting and panels and 110# for card bases. But since I don’t make the volume of cards that some of you make, I only use the heavy cover 110# for everything. Panels, bases and die cuts. I’ll check for that tonight. I know i saved it.

    • @marionemberson
      @marionemberson  2 роки тому

      @@dizzinese thanks Denise. I must admit I love the WOW for all the above, but it’s biggest win for me is the bright white, but that’s because I do a lot of white space cards 😍😍😍😍

    sorry for my confusion, but if you want the shape of the block but not the grid lines, can't you use the other side of the block? I thought they were only printed on one side? And personally, i loved the one that showed the grid lines because it was blurred and looked kind of grungy. If you added the stamp over the missed spot, you would be fine and it didn't show anyway because it wasn't a solid print which I liked! I just LOVED everyone of these!
