Yup me too! Spiders gave me the heebeejeebees... But after watching Kat for the last 6+ months, I can see and be near them without freaking out. So, thank you from the UK 🙏🏻
I admit, I've watched a lot of tarantula videos and have thought "it must be really boring for that spider, just sitting there." But that's me anthropomorphizing spiders. These spiders are living their dream lives: they don't have to hide from predators (but they do anyway because webby burrows are so cozy), and they don't have to go hunting because food just appears near them every so often, AND the don't have to seek out mates because arranged spider marriages are in fashion. Plus if the female doesn't like the mate choice she can just eat him.

Anyone who thinks a tarantula is sentient and comparable to a dog is so enormously ignorant as to not deserve a moment's consideration. Watching even a few of your videos highlights how much you care about your animals. One has to be wilfully obtuse, not to mention blindly self-righteous, to think otherwise. Ignore the fools and keep bringing us great content.
I have to disagree that tarantulas aren’t sentient. They respond to touch and sound, etc. They aren’t emotionally capable though. As long as you’re providing an animal what it specifically needs, people have no need to complain. A dog’s needs and a tarantula’s needs are vastly different. (Besides food, shelter, and water.)
to be fair, "sentient" as a completely empty fucking word.... just because a tarantula's consciousness does not resemble the mammalian consciousness, doesn't mean they don't have one and just because their needs are wildly different from those of mammals, doesn't mean that they aren't whatever you mean by "sentient".... so i'd say, technically, you're the one who's looking ignorant in this particular case

People will never be pleased and I’m sorry that’s how they decided to treat you. Keep up the amazing work and for just being you, and for always putting a smile on my face.
Spiders showing up at a vet would be very weird. Pretty much no vets know a whole lot about inverts and there generally isn't much of a way to diagnose and treat them. So you're pretty safe from seeing them in the future lol
I'm also a vet tech though currently going to vet school, and I'm very very interested in arachnids and possible medical conditions that may occur with them. I saw when it posted to Facebook and read the comments and everything and I even commented myself. I felt so bad for you because I can't imagine what it's like being a content creator and being an animal lover but getting abused by somebody who is uninformed and on a mission to spread hate out into the world. I think you're awesome and I've learned so much from you and you taught me to not be afraid of spiders anymore. You teach and that's how people overcome their fears. Thank you! 🤍🕸️🕷️🕸️🤍
Lmaooo "karma's watchiiinng!" had me losing it bahaha, karma's definitely giving you pats on the back considering what you do! I have awful arachnophobia, I get freaked out, I start getting itchy all over (which is annoying and can even be painful depending on how long it lasts) and I just have a genuinely bad time seeing a spider. But since I found your channel, my phobia definitely has not gone away, however it has gotten easier to manage! I haven't been on your channel in a few months because of life stuff getting in the way, but before that break I wasn't killing spiders as much?? Now I kind of hate to admit I have been,,, but I've moved in with my mom on a lake surrounded by woods, they're gonna be in my life much more than I would prefer. Your videos helped educate me and even calm me in their presence in the past, and I'm actually really excited to come back to watching, because I know come spring and summer they're going to be eve r y wh e r e, I have to get used to them, and your channel did a wonderful job of helping me do that in the past, so hopefully the same can happen now! Thank you for what you do
Kat you handled that very well! I've been watching for you while now and I can't see the love you have for all of your animals. Don't let whoever that was get to you love...they obviously have too much time on there hands and /or a miserable person and jealous of you! Just wipe it off your shoulders and keep being awesome!
hey Kat, your videos are helping me conquer my arachnophobia one vid at a time, and this weirdo person that left that msg at you literally is just taking offense at nothing and their criticism is not worth even a single grain of salt your platform has helped me a lot and i really do trust that you care well for all these animals you keep
You slayed it! I had a huge fear of spiders til I started watching your videos. I see the compassion and live you have for your spiders, snakes, dog and other animals. Its a shame people have to try and tear someone down without knowing what you actually do. When I found your youtube I actually binge watched all your videos because I was actually learning something and realizing I didnt need to have a huge scary fear of spiders. Thank you Kat!!!
I started following you after seeing your videos about jumping spiders! Keep doing you and don't let the haters mess with your positive space! Love your channel!
Nicely done speaking out on that persons message. I think you do an amazing job taking care of tarantulas and the rest of your animals. That person was disrespectful, and should of done the research first before messaging you. Usually people do those things because they are jealous or unhappy. I enjoy watching your videos, and learning new things about tarantulas.
I find your UA-cam videos are ALWAYS informative, educational, and entertaining. Please don't change a thing. Your love and concern for your spiders, tarantulas, and other animals is ALWAYS evident to me! Please keep up the great work that you are doing and sharing.
I found your video by google and haven’t stopped you helped learn and have the knowledge about my Chilean rose hair I really appreciate you don’t listen to the haters
The fact that you put so much love into your animals. Caring about their enclosures and such. This is way better than what most people do to spiders. Which is killing them. Because of videos like yours, I now have a jumping spider of my own and another on the way! When you post vids like yours you're helping to educate people and to help those afraid of them. Keep doing you!
I know this is an old video... but I just had to say I just found your channel yesterday and have been binging your videos ever since 😊 I used to be deathly afraid of spiders.... but over the past several years I’ve grown to really appreciate them. I don’t have any as pets but I never kill them when I find them in my house. I like to coexist with my spiders lol. Anyway I really love your content and to be honest there is just something about you that is really inviting and comforting. So I hope comments like the one in the video are few and far between because you are definitely doing something good 🖤
Ya people like that don't realize the good things your putting into the world. Still afraid of spiders but not as badly as before I started watching your videos. You are awesome and your providing valuable facts to creatures that some of us scaredy cats were too afraid and even bother looking it up. Thank you and keeping being you please!
I’ve just recently “discovered” you, and I’ve learned SO much! All I can say is, “Kat! You’ve received your first Hater! You must be doing something right!” Lol! What you’re doing is so amazing, and your content is always interesting. Please continue your great work! *Haters are a part of the success…
Your videos have taught me easy and effective ways to rehouse my tarantula (Garfield) and my two jumping spiders (Spooky and Haunter) and they are all very happy and comfortable! Also I had to say goodbye to another jumping spider earlier this year (RIP Cookie) and I preserved her using the method I saw in one of your videos! She still looks wonderful!
Ah but it is abusive and neglectful to give these wonderful creatures amazing habitats that even when using artificial plants look just like their natural habitat (/s) I've learned so much because of people who own many exotic pets! And, you can see, none of them are suffering because they aren't showing any stress behaviors unless its during a rehouse/unboxing, which is reasonable considering theyre being moved. I love this channel and it's inspired me to have my own inverts. I caught two jumping spiders because of this channel.
Good on you, can't believe a person posted those comments and love how you responded back to them BRILLIANT a Tarantula in care and love is left alone to be itself... not a dog to do as its master says, walks or made to go out of the house, sit, stand, lie down all human commands trained for a dog...SORRY BUT !!! a Tarantula in the proper care of a responsible owner lives its life without commands or party tricks and is admired for its beauty and not what you can teach it to look cute.
Trying to imagine walking a tarantula... I just found your channel and I am seeing spiders in a whole new light. Your videos are amazingly informative and eye opening. You are clearly passionate and a warm, gentle person who treats your collection with such respect and care. The world needs more people like you.
Kat, Thanks for putting out all the videos and for helping to promote the hobby. Ive been following you for a couple years now and I give you a big portion of the credit for me getting back into the interseting, awesome world of taranula keeping after a long time away. Keep up the good stuff. Dont let the occasioinal off the wall/uneducated/ negative comments get you down. Love your channel and Love the Elf Ears! (so cute). BTW I just ordered some stuff from twinns mommy after seeing your live online opening . Nice stuff. Cheers , D.
There are a lot of self-righteous (mainly *ignorant and hateful) people in the pet husbandry community, I see it all the time. Somebody will ask a genuine question and get slammed with viscous, petty comments. The person who commented clearly knows nothing about tarantulas, and as you said, clearly has not actually watched or paid attention to any of your videos. Sorry you have to deal with such hateful people :/ I've learned so much from your content and it inspired me to get a GBB which I love so much! I'm hoping to get a jumping spider soon 😉 I always get excited when I see you've posted a video; you're such a positive and intelligent figure in the pet husbandry hobby, I'm glad your YT channel is continuously growing in popularity.
Hi Kat! Long time no comment - but still watching! ☺ I have enjoyed you and your channel since before you made it "big" on here. You said everything so perfectly, you definitely are very knowledgeable and 1000% have done your research. As someone who’s actually watched all your videos, I can say with confidence you know your stuff 😍🥰😍
I love love love you!! I started following you on UA-cam after following Tarantula Collective. I have learnt so much from you both, and many others on the Internet, about tarantulas and their care. I appreciate all your content, and I admire the genuine reality of it all it. I have only had tarantulas for 6 months, my collection grew rapidly, but so did my knowledge. I received a little criticism. I took it personally and I began to question my choice to own T’s. However, more recently I’ve learnt to realise that I don’t know the level of knowledge of the ones giving the criticism; and there are some extremely uneducated people who like to express their opinion. I respect all opinions, but I focus on the ones that are justified with reliable resources. I’m pleased you’ve done a response to that person, and you did it well. Not sure I’d have been able to put it across so… calmly. Thank you for all your content 🥰 Claire and her 11 T’s 🕷☺️
It irritates me to learn so many people give you grief! Your channel is helping me so SO much with my arachnophobia. It's very obvious that you love your critters, Kat, never stop educating!
I wouldn't worry about others comments, I actually respect what you do, it's very educational & fun to watch. I honestly give you tons of respect because it's not something I would choose for myself too do. But I love your channel ❤️
Hi Kat, I've been following you on UA-cam for a couple years now at least. I respect you also. You never have to explain yourself to these negative people. Some of them are just trolls. And I was successful raising Slings all because of watching you all do it. Keep on doing what you like to do.

Your content is amazing and informative, and the amount of care you extend to all your critters is very apparent. Keep doing what you're doing! You've taught me so much about creatures that I used to be afraid of and would squish on sight. I'm now a member of the stop the smoosh movement. 👍🏻
Im not a Tarantula lover but I really enjoyed your videos bcoz it not only changed my perspective about them, it's educational and you also helped to preserve the species from extinction. So...don't be put down by those cyber bully just bcoz you're doing better than they do! Stay Strong! Be Positive! Believe in yourself!
When you showed us the first tarantula to be rehoused, I legit blurted out loud, "Oh hi, baby!" Cuz they were oddly very cute to me. XD I'm glad your spooders were feeling mellow. It's possible that they just kinda knew that they were getting new bigger houses to explore and dig and hang out in. ^.^

@@tarantulakat I read this beforehand and put them in a shallow saucer! She hasn't let me take the dish back out yet though, lol. She'll pounce on it once she feels it moving.
I think you're awesome. You can tell how much you love your animals and your knowledge and passion are very obvious. Keep being you xx
Loved the rehousing video. As far as the people that sent you those messages don't let it bug you. You are doing amazing!
Your love and care for them is so awesome. You are so gentle with each one. I love watching your videos because you teach me a little bit about them with each video and I'm so grateful for it
I saw when it posted to Facebook and read the comments and everything and I even commented myself.
Thank you for what you do
You educated me on tarantulas and I got my first one because of you! Your doing good work!
Kat you handled that very well! I've been watching for you while now and I can't see the love you have for all of your animals. Don't let whoever that was get to you love...they obviously have too much time on there hands and /or a miserable person and jealous of you! Just wipe it off your shoulders and keep being awesome!
That list at the end was gold
You are one of the reasons I now have tarantulas. You rock ladybug!!!
hey Kat, your videos are helping me conquer my arachnophobia one vid at a time, and this weirdo person that left that msg at you literally is just taking offense at nothing and their criticism is not worth even a single grain of salt
your platform has helped me a lot and i really do trust that you care well for all these animals you keep
Karma is watching byeeee 🤣🤣 love that.. well said kat 👏
Can I just say how much I love your personality and your reactions to other people!!!!
It’s one of those days lol. We all know you are a nice person and are awesome and care about your animals. :)
MOUAHAHAH It is THE best response I could have imagined to that hater ! You rock.
this has nothing to do with the video but that light blue color suits you so well! it makes your green hair pop i love it
I know this is an old video... but I just had to say I just found your channel yesterday and have been binging your videos ever since 😊 I used to be deathly afraid of spiders.... but over the past several years I’ve grown to really appreciate them. I don’t have any as pets but I never kill them when I find them in my house. I like to coexist with my spiders lol. Anyway I really love your content and to be honest there is just something about you that is really inviting and comforting. So I hope comments like the one in the video are few and far between because you are definitely doing something good 🖤
I cackled at “If anyone is bored, it’s me”
Ya people like that don't realize the good things your putting into the world.
Your channel is the number 1 reason why I started keeping jumping spiders ! Thank you 😊
Ah but it is abusive and neglectful to give these wonderful creatures amazing habitats that even when using artificial plants look just like their natural habitat (/s)
I've learned so much because of people who own many exotic pets!
I love watching your videos. Your housing is way better that some of the others I’ve seen. It’s way more enriching
Aw thank you
Elf ears to signify serious videos
Edit: they sound like a peta supporter ngl
Exactly what I was thinking.
I've been watching a few of your videos and I gotta say, your personality and your love for your animals is amazing, take my sub!
Great video. Don’t worry about the haters. We love your little ones. Looking forward to binging all of your videos.
That color blue looks SO good with your skin tone!
Your videos helped me get over my arachnophobia and have now gotten my first T and I love it so much.
My entire life never seen a dogweb in any corner of my house 😂 ahh the webs we weave hahaha 🤣
Kat,
Thanks for putting out all the videos and for helping to promote the hobby. Ive been following you for a couple years now and I give you a big portion of the credit for me getting back into the interseting, awesome world of taranula keeping after a long
time away. Keep up the good stuff.
Dont let the occasioinal off the wall/uneducated/ negative comments get you down. Love your channel and
Love the Elf Ears! (so cute).
BTW I just ordered some stuff from twinns mommy after seeing your live online opening . Nice stuff.
Cheers ,
D.
😂😂😂😂 omg love this video and your response... People are out there lol
Your response is ON POINT and I’d like to say, THANK YOU! 😌
I love your jokes and sense of humor 🤣
I got in trouble for it a lot in elementary school tbh
These kind of FB posts say so much more about the person posting them. It’s all projection. So crazy.
Keep up the great content!
You go Kat!! You still have those of us that watch your channel to educate ourselves, and find you really informative and entertaining 🕷
Just focus on those who you have helped! I had a fear for spiders, tarantulas, etc, until I stared to watch you! Keep it up!
This channel is therapy! 🕷🕸❤👍
Great video Kat, and great respond to that online bully and troll. Greetings from a Tarantula addict in Sweden.:)
Hi Kat! Long time no comment - but still watching! ☺
I have enjoyed you and your channel since before you made it "big" on here. (I think I was 1 of your 1st subs and remember encouraging you to get the kiddo a lil beardie). I have enjoyed watching you grow and I love the way you responded here. I couldnt agree more.
That old saying is true- Misery loves company - however, that person wont find any company here! We're all happy lil "pet users" here! (Said in my Bob Ross "happy lil trees" voice haha!!)
Have a great evening Kat! Keep being the awesome you that you are!
Some people are not happy unless they bash others. You care for your animals and it shows. Keep up the good work.
Adding ‘Karma’s watching’ to the end of all my videos now too haha love you TK
I absolutely love your videos! I just got my first T, A. Seemani zebra! Your videos have helped me so much in handling and proper care.
Thank you for all your content 🥰 Claire and her 11 T’s 🕷☺️
is that ur gbb in ur profile pic?
It irritates me to learn so many people give you grief! Your channel is helping me so SO much with my arachnophobia. It's very obvious that you love your critters, Kat, never stop educating!
I wouldn't worry about others comments, I actually respect what you do, it's very educational & fun to watch. I honestly give you tons of respect because it's not something I would choose for myself too do. But I love your channel ❤️
Hi Kat, I've been following you on UA-cam for a couple years now at least. I respect you also. You never have to explain yourself to these negative people. Some of them are just trolls. Your channel.. Tom's channel and Tarantula Havens and Darken Den are the ones that got me to try Tarantula keeping several years ago. And I was successful raising Slings all because of watching you all do it. Keep on doing what you like to do.
Absolutely bloody brilliant response. It was calm, informed, gently barbed and unequivocal. 👏 👍😃
I love your videos and I'm so sad to hear you've received such an ignorant message! Your channel is what has finally given me the push to purchase my first Tarantula and I'm so thankful! You are very passionate about your animals, and I have learnt so much from you! Much love from an Aussie fan! x
Well done Kat for not stooping to their level your Ts, snakes and all your animals look looked after n keep doin a great channel and vids ...xx
Your animals are doping great! Love your videos, I would not have spiders. ❤️❤️ keep going
We love watching your videos Kat we can tell your the most amazing caring woman and I’m sure your pets feel content if they don’t know what love is ❤️
When you showed us the first tarantula to be rehoused, I legit blurted out loud, "Oh hi, baby!" Cuz they were oddly very cute to me. XD I'm glad your spooders were feeling mellow. It's possible that they just kinda knew that they were getting new bigger houses to explore and dig and hang out in. ^.^
Omfg you have the sweetest way with all your animals.... you have taught me so much about spiders and I'm petrified of them.....well I'm not as scared as I used to be lol..... they obv dont watch the channel and he must have peed the bed to be up that early and be so angry pmsl....... ur a lovely lass just ignore the ignorance ... as always huge huggles from Scotland uk 🏴🤗🏴🤗🏴🤗
You are doing a great work, i follow your advice, like your channel
hell yaeh for Kat!!!
Holy shit! You freaking rock! Well played. Keeping doing you and keep making content. Love your channel. Best wishes.
“If anyone is bored, it’s me watching her” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is just the best , educational AND a clap back 👏🏼 mrs. keyboard warrior could never 💁🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️👏🏼🤣 love that you have such a good attitude about this too , truly speaks volumes on your character . People see success and feel poorly of themselves and try to take it out on other people and I think it’s pretty pathetic ngl
