Thank you again Amy and Quen for the awesome new spiders I ordered. This video is not sponsored and I am not affiliated. Check them out here: www.fanghubtarantulas.com/
I genuinely laughed at the beginning with the little shaking coffe sip 😂 On a separate note, I recently held a tarantula for the first time! Her toes were so soft! I wouldn’t have had the courage to even get near her if I hadn’t started watching you a few years ago :)
Have to agree with Annie, the pulchras are absolutely stunning. 😍 They also grow a tad bit faster than the rosea so if you're getting a juvenile you won't have to wait 5-7 years for them to reach adulthood.
For speedy bolty spiders you could get a butterfly enclosure and then do the rehousing inside of it. Tom Moran rehoused a huntsman inside it and it worked out great.
When my husband and I got our baboon we were told to open them in the bath so it couldn’t run away…..let me say, it makes no difference, that baboon shot about 6ft upwards in about 2 secs, we did finally get her into her new home….fiesty little lady
I picked up my first Old World yesterday at the Show Me Expo, H. pulchripes. Rehousing was a delight. 😮💨 Like you, I am not afraid to get bit. I am afraid one bolting and possibly losing the little one during rehouse. I try to take all proper precautions. Even after taking all the precautions, the H. pulchripes bolted clear out of the enclosure. Luckily, I had the enclosure in a Rubbermaid tub and was able to cup the T quickly. Scary Spice is secure in their enclosure and I can breathe. 🥺😂 I love your videos! I always enjoy learning and growing as a T keeper. Thank you for all that you do! 💞
My friend has a bunch of tarantulas and gave me a sling but at one point, one of her old world babies took off across the counter and I was fast enough to catch it! After a quick photo session, we managed to get little man back into his home 💜💜💜 he was fun though!! I'm loving your videos!!
I'm seriously considering getting a pet spider. But I would only want one that lives a long time in a larger habitat. I wouldn't want it to shoot out of it. I not sure what kind of spider would fit my needs nor how costly it would be. Very cool video. 😎👍
nice unboxing.. your smart doing yours. I see how others do it. they attend to take the spider out in the open and then place it in the enclosure.. but then while there doing it.. the spider bolts on them or away from the in a blink of a eye. You use the lid as a shield to prevent them from running. Smart and seems to be safe not harmful in anyway. Gentle you were as well. Nicely done.
I live in Australia and native old worlds are literally the only Ts we can keep. Maybe that's why I really don't understand why people worry about or say they're "scared" of old worlds, whether it's the speed or venom etc. To me they're not as fast as huntsman and that's what I measure spiders on, nor dangerous like our funnelwebs. You're far less calm, slow and gentle than I am with rehousings, and I'm still pretty much a beginner. Maybe that's why you find them bolty and scary.
I've thought about this a lot since I got my first T's. I jumped right into the deep end with both old worlds and "feisty" new worlds, so I might be somewhat biased but honestly? As long as you're calm and collected and prepared for eventual bolts, most old worlds are just as easy to unbox and rehouse as new worlds in my opinion. And there's huge differences in temperament between individuals. Out of my 16 T's, the only one I get a bit nervous around is an itty bitty Tliltocatl albiposus sling. It goes nuts and runs around and bolts into all its little burrows as soon as it sees me, and I'm scared it will decide to bolt outside the enclosure and disappear somewhere before I can catch it because it's so tiny. And as you said, everyone in Australia has to start with old worlds, that's just how it is. 🤷♀️
My P lugardi is the most bolty tarantula. Two escape attempts and catch cup moments. Mine did make a trapdoor. I only had some leaves for hides and a starter burrow. Removed the leaves and there was a trapdoor under the leaves….
I used to fear every creepy crawly bug and especially spiders. Hated them. Still not a HUGE fan. But...I didnt know they could be so damn cute lol Im not up to wanting a pet one yet......but aww :) We have a TON of wolf spiders here... we are up in Erie, PA. Not much else though I dont think. I just have always hated them. So TY You are helping my fear :)
Great video Tarantula Kat. I love how how real and honest your videos always are. I have come to love these creatures and now own two T’s of my own and think they are the best pet. Also what hair dye do you use? Lol have a great day and looking forward to your next video
I love those lava spiders! Saw those for the first time, recently! So pretty 🤍 new additions are so much fun. I’m CRAVING more but poor life 😂 Love the enclosure set ups! I recently got a Zilla 20 long from my local exotic shop they had a bio active frog set up in with a custom background made in it I wanna put the female a Seemanni in, just gotta figure out a top for it, got it for $20 💁🏻♀️
I have had arachnophobia my entire life, like true arachnophobia. If I see a big spider in my home, I go into a full panic, shaking and sweating. Can’t even be in the same room with it. Even just a picture of one freaks me out. Yet TELL ME why I’m addicted to watching your videos and finding myself almost wanting a pet jumping spider. Don’t get me wrong, the big ones still terrify me. But the tiny ones don’t seem so scary anymore. They’re even kinda cute now.
Yay! I made it early to a video 🖤 always looking forward to when you upload new videos. I recently got my first T 🥰 it’s a Brachypelma Emilia and she’s adorable. I’m already looking for a second one and I want a Grammostola Pulchra. I also got a new Phidippus Audax so my tiny collection is slowly growing lol great video as always Kat, hope you and your family are doing great!
Sweet I love lava spiders you're so lucky to be able to own them I'm a child though so I'm broke and I honestly don't want to spend $200 on a tarantula if I could I would but I just don't have that money the most I've spent on any animal was my Pumpkin patch T whenever I try to spell scientific names they always autocorrect but anyways I spent $85 on him in total including shipping I named him spook because pumpkin patch Halloween I am very creative with names
@@Gorillatagbest33ddf true hopefully prices will go down on them soon they're an awesome species I hope one day I can get them I probably will considering more people are starting to breed more rare species now
My old worlds must be broken lol, they are so calm. My P. ecclesiasticus tho... the thing is nuts😂😂 . Escaped twice while feeding. Both the lugardi and the lava spider you got are very nice, great video.
Out of my 16 T's, my itty bitty Tliltocatl albiposus sling is the one that scares me the most. It bolts like crazy as soon as I open the lid and I have to steady myself each time. 🤣 My juvie H. gigas though? Absolute joy. All five of the Psalmopoeus slings? Never had one bolt. Tarantulas do what tarantulas wants to do. 😂
I just bought a confirmed female lava spider from fang hub ❤ I only shop with Amy, mostly cuz they have the best selection and prices but also they’re local so saving on shipping is a big plus 😂
1:13, and here I am wanting an old world as my first tarantula because microscopic, irritating, eye-destroying, urticating hairs scare me far more than venomous fangs or teleportation.
Its better to be way too careful than to have a little sling sprinting around! I wasnt very careful unboxing a P cambridei sling, didnt even have a catch cup ready, and it ran around my desk and hid under the edge. I was freaking out, but managed to get it safe and sound in its enclosure.
I recently got a juvenile B hamorii for my first T, now I'm resisting the urge to buy a lava spider! 😍 It's so pretty! I think I will need to try to convince my fiancé...
You are always careful on how you release your spiders, but whichever one you was sending off looks like it lost a leg in slow motion pause. Hopefully the lil sling made it. Wondering if the legs regrow later, probably not😂
these are all so cute, are new worlds less bolty and not as fast as old worlds? the main difference i know of between the two (and i hope this is right) but from my understanding their defence mechanisms are different and old worlds have stronger venom while new worlds will kick hair? can someone let me know if this is accurate?? and idk how but youve made me so interested in not only tarantulas and spiders, but other bugs too
I have one lava spider, they are one of the most beautiful slings i have, the colors on trhe sling are as if it was an adult already almost :d. Really pretty spider but like in your video they are pretty bolty most of the time hahaha
Out of curiosity around how much did you spend on all those t’s that’s a good haul? I’m curious because I’m always looking for great places to buy t’s and want a lava t
A question I do have, do you know where you get your spiders? Like are these spiders sustainable reproduced in captivity or do they frequently collect wild ones?
I was wondering... I have recently become very interested in jumping spiders. I've done a lot of research for care and housing. Do you know of a reputable source to buy one?
Thank you again Amy and Quen for the awesome new spiders I ordered. This video is not sponsored and I am not affiliated.

My mom got me some of your merch for my birthday I am very happy
You’re welcome! Love the video, as always it was our pleasure ❤
Thanks for leading me to Fang Hub. Amy has been awesome and it's been a great pleasure working with her. My GBB sling is doing great today.
I laughed out loud when you said “where did it go” 🤣🤣🤣
What I’m curious about, seeing how fast they are, is how the sellers get the spiders into their shipping containers
That would be a good video for her to do cuz i think a lot of us are curious about that too
Love that "lava spider" bolty little guys
Oh my gosh, its little butt just peeking out behind the leaf 😂😂💕
I genuinely laughed at the beginning with the little shaking coffe sip 😂
On a separate note, I recently held a tarantula for the first time! Her toes were so soft! I wouldn’t have had the courage to even get near her if I hadn’t started watching you a few years ago :)
B. Lugosi would be a cool scientific name for a tarantula.
Wow it's when they move fast like that that I get freaked out lol! I like calm. 😂
Pulchra in my opinion, im looking into getting one to help my fear and so many say they are like puppies, calm and relaxed
Have to agree with Annie, the pulchras are absolutely stunning. 😍 They also grow a tad bit faster than the rosea so if you're getting a juvenile you won't have to wait 5-7 years for them to reach adulthood.

I am officially jealous of your lava spider, so excited for you though! What fun additions!
Kat, that lava sling is soooo beautiful... geez, I'm sooooooooooo tempted....
Those lil guys are so fast, the first one teleported!! 😂 (Also never noticed your tattoo of Aegis from P3 it's really nice!)
I love your videos they are so informational and helpful your one of the reasons I got into tarantula keeping keep up the amazing work
these were great openings and housings! I feel I jumped with you a couple times xD I totally need to draw a lava spider now!

They have one of the cleanest sites. Love the idea of the mystery box for slings.

Love your videos Kat! I just got my first T - B. Emilia!
All Australian ts are old worlds and we call their fast movements 'transporting' just because of how quick they are. Super fun 😄
I love watching you opening all your new babies! I also love your tattoos!!
I'm seriously considering getting a pet spider. But I would only want one that lives a long time in a larger habitat. I wouldn't want it to shoot out of it. I not sure what kind of spider would fit my needs nor how costly it would be.

As an Arachnophobic I often wonder why I watch videos like this when I'm drunk. Spiders are cool but, damn, they're scary.
Appriciate your work on music and editing :) Also super cute new babies.
